  1. Considering illness & injury who knows what the team might be...... I think some performances have been sadly lacking since early December, teams know to get after us and exploit our slow start to games and the lack of a regular striker will be our undoing again I fear. Although I think we’ll see a better performance tonight I can’t see us getting anything sorry lads it’s 1 - 2 defeat (that’s if we manage to score)
  2. Collin, Tootle, Brisley, Duffy, Jones, Alessandra, Husin, Hewit, Grant, Stead, Bennett. We have 3 very winnable games between today and next Saturday and to get us back on track we need to achieve it. However, it was the same over Christmas and we fell way short....... come on lads do us proud.
  3. Yeah something must give, as long as we get 3 points we should be better off come Saturday evening....... I wouldn’t put money on it though my friend.
  4. We have to go for 3 points but Barnet have a new boss and it would be typical for us to come unstuck. I would play Bennett with Stead and hope that Tootle and Hewit are both fit. If we don’t push on from here we could start slipping down the table now that our rivals have closed up on us. Let’s just hope all the results go for us this weekend and we can start to pull away again.
  5. We need the full squad AND the full starting eleven because if there are more than a couple of absentees the lack of quality in the team shows. I am amazed that Kevin is satisfied with the strength in depths of the squad. Yes, we may have cover in all areas now but the quality of that cover is sadly lacking. No doubt that everyone is committed and the character of the players is undoubted but if we lose anyone through illness or injury the cracks are all too evident (in my humble opinion). We must win on Saturday and get ourselves back on track....
  6. No excuses tomorrow, it’s no good saying “but we played well in parts of the game”. And losing or scraping a draw.We should have been 2 or 3 up in the last 2 home games but wasted some golden chances. Draws are no good now we need a run of wins otherwise we could be out of contention very soon. I’d play a 442 system and I would play Bennett with Stead.
  7. This game will give us a chance to play the football we are capable of. I can’t see us winning but a decent performance might restore some confidence and get us back on track. I just hope we don’t get humiliated. The Crew game is ages away and by then the transfer window will have closed so we will know if we managed to bring in any new faces. My worry is that the target for this year was consolidation in the league and reaching 50 points was the green light to start experimenting ready for a big push next season. It will be a shame if we miss out now but realistically I can’t see us finishing in the top 7. I honestly hope I’m wrong.
  8. It’s a given that Grant will be gone in the summer so KN is probably keeping his options open on who to bring in should we get promoted. Yes, the midfield looks covered for now but Virtue will most likely be on his way back to Liverpool, unless we could secure a loan again for next season; you would suppose that could be a possibility as a 4 month loan hardly gives him much development time a full season would do him the world of good - especially in Div1 ! I think Kevin is probably satisfied with what he has, but with Shola’s recent list of injuries it makes you wonder if he has another season in him. Jon Stead is a gem, his work rate is phenomenal (although his goal return is a concern) and I think Kevin will stick with him. That said we need a quick player to sniff out the half chances and pounce on opposing defensive errors (but that’s what everyone wants). A central defender will be easier to find and we do need cover without doubt.
