Ratings v Bradford
Slocombe - 6.5 - Decent, don't think he stood much of a chance with either goal. Some odd decisions with distribution at times. Brindley - 6.5 - Decent. Bit slow in picking a pass at times. Baldwin - 7.5 - Very good yesterday. Cameron - 6.5 - Did OK. Nemane - 6.5 - He's brilliant one moment and infuriating the next. Randall - 6 - He was fairly tidy, but he didn't do much. Bostock - 7.5 - Bosses the centre of the pitch with his technique. We are a different team when he is in it. JOB - 7 - Very good performance from JOB. His runs can open a lot of things up and he does have an eye for a pass. Crowley - 8 - Twists and spins, with so much skill. Really is a player and a half. McGoldrick - 7.5 - You can recognise he's played levels above this. Cross-field ball to Nemane was special. What he tries doesn't always come off, and his finishing is a bit hit and miss at times. Langstaff - 8 - His movement is tireless and he carved them up first half. Special player. Rawlinson - 7.5 - Don't think he put a foot wrong when he came on. TAR - 4 - Not a great performance, defensively naïve and not able to get the better of his man offensively. Gosling - 1 - Useless. Looked like a player somebody who had dragged in from the pub before the game. Gives the ball away and doesn't even bother to chase back. Morias - 6 - Lots of energy when he comes on.

Match Discussion: Game 1 - The Us (A)
Yeah, or Tipton I guess. The height issue isn't brindley's fault. Not being able to fight to win a ball or the inability to pass to a teammate, is.

Match Discussion: Game 1 - The Us (A)
The weak link defensively, which we all suspected, was laid bare today. Brindley, atrocious. There's nothing positive to say about that performance. Like he's playing on autopilot, with serious software defects. Stone, abysmal. What goes through your head to make a challenge outside the box with your hands in that situation, god only knows. Fitzsimmons-esque in being glued to his line for their first. Slocombe isn't be the best keeper for this level, but he's better than his supposed replacement. There were many bad performances today, but the above 2 stand out for being completely inept

Match Discussion: Game 21 - The Bees (H)
Slocombe - 7.5 - Not at fault for their opener. Did his job well and made the right choice again and again. Chicksen - 7.5 - Another goal. Can't say I quite made it out in the Kop. Solid at the back and good positions going forward. Doesn't skin a man, but that isn't his forte. Cameron - 8 - Thought he was excellent. Barely a foot wrong. Baldwin - 5 - Wayward passes, making wrong choices, bad touches... it's going to happen with the role he plays. Chicksen - 7.5 - Another goal. In the right position at the right time, again. Solid at the back and good positions going forward. Doesn't skin a man, but that isn't his forte. Rawlinson - 7 - Love Rawlo. Warrior. TAR - 6 - Decent going forward, but was run ragged by their winger. Palmer - 5.5 - Gets away with 'bad' (as in below par for him) performances sometimes. Didn't get away with it here, was terrible in the first half. Improved in the second. Bostock - 6.5 - Poor in the first half. Improved considerably in the second. Rodrigues - 6 - A little bit off it tonight. Tries all the risky balls and majority didn't come off today, but didn't shy away and kept trying the balls. Think he hit the post, too. Scott - 8 - Rats around and does a lot of stuff that goes unnoticed. Scores - again. Could've been an assist - couldn't tell from the Kop. Langstaff - 8 - His goal looked superb, but again would like to see the replay. See he was attributed the fourth - not sure how much of a touch he got on that. Jones - 7.5 - Thought he was threatening again. Some questionable defensive actions, but you expect that when you have a winger in a defensive role. Austin - 7 - Good contribution off the bench. Vincent - 7.5 - Thought he was excellent off the bench. Great touches, desire.... everything you want.

Match Discussion: Game 31 - The Gulls (A)
I initially thought their goal came from a Baldwin error, he misses his header and allows an easy finish to their striker. Having seen the highlights, however, it's not his fault and he's effectively marking their only 2 men in the box when we have 4 'defending' in the immediate vicinity: It's a counter-attack from a corner. Bad pass from Bostock, but not one we shouldn't recover from. We do a good job in getting numbers back defending, but I think it is Palmer who should be picking up his man and Ruben (?) helping him out. Midfielders and attackers though, don't always have the 'defenders brain' and see the danger incoming. Rawlinson certainly does see it, and is indicating as much. Rodrigues is more concerned with returning to his normal position and Palmer is ball-watching: By the time the cross comes in, Ruben is too late and Palmer is massively out of position, perhaps trying to close down the pass to midfield when that's easily already covered by Bostock: The reaction by Rawlo is pure frustration at the lack of defending basics: Stick with your man and don't get attracted to the ball. Rodrigues pointlessly barely moves with his hand in the air claiming an offside where there clearly isn't one; Palmer is chasing shadows. .

We're not fantastic away but we're getting to the point in the season where games become must-win if we're serious about play-offs.

I'm not sure who that is but a lot of these accounts seem to have 'Greta Thunberg syndrome'; that is, they complain, moan and squeal about everything - but offer 0 solutions on anything.

Coronavirus
Yup. Know a few people personally that are unhappy with the way the vaccines are being pushed (me too) and that's their (initial) reason for not getting one. The enforcement thereafter has then pushed them further down the rabbit hole and now they are verging on conspiracy-land, even though some of the negatives/concerns about the vaccine are true, a lot of the claims are nonsense. I know a few countries will and are trying to enforce it at workplaces. No jab = no job. That will coerce a few to get it, but not a lot. Plus, the freedoms it violates and the precedence it sets are terrible. It's a strong indication that the government can take your job if you don't sign up to something they are pushing. Vaccine today, but what tomorrow? Dangerous.

One look at David Schneider's twitter and you can see the type of account. Boring, repeated attacks on Boris Johnson with any weapon they can get hold of (Covid and Brexit the most common). I'm no fan of Boris but these type of accounts and people are generally unhelpful. You imagine David Schneider stood in the middle of a field, in the countryside, by himself, with a mask on, 'to save the NHS'.

Match Discussion: Game 24 - The Bees (H)
Barnet's results have picked up recently; they've beat Torquay, Woking and Maidenhead and drawn with Boreham Wood. By no means a given that we beat them, they are not the same calamity Harry Kewell side we pasted on the opening day.

To try and get a judge on the pandemic and how it evolves it is necessary to filter out the extremes. The extreme to one-side is the anti-vaccine, 'covid doesn't exist', government conspiracy types. On the other side is the place for the hysterical; lockdown forever, social distancing forever, gross over-estimation and exaggeration of hospitalisation/death forecasts. I follow John Campbell on Youtube. He looks at the situation in the UK and globally, presenting stats and offering his opinion. He is quite level-headed and practical about things: https://www.youtube.com/c/Campbellteaching

What's happening throughout continental Europe with regards to mandating (or quasi-mandating) vaccines is abhorrent and illiberal. Unfortunately the people who consider themselves 'liberal' are the ones who are for this type of government enforcement.

Match Discussion: Game 13 - The Ravens (H)
I have a feeling that Bromley are getting the rub of the green at the minute; I've watched a lot of their highlights and many of their goals are scrambles that somehow finds its way in. No doubt their a good side, but they will have a period where that doesn't stick. Not saying they're a bad side, just a bit unfortunate we got them while their going well.

Match Discussion: Game 13 - The Ravens (H)
Pretty much how they got their goal against us: long ball into the box, win the first header then scramble.
-
Match Discussion: Game 13 - The Ravens (H)
Just watched their highlights against Aldershot. They finished with 3 points and a 3-2 win, but judging by the highlights, Aldershot might feel they should've won that. 1st goal is a long throw and scramble. 2nd goal is a corner and Aldershot's keeper throws it into his own net. 3rd goal is a corner turned into a scramble and then a handball and penalty. Could be a very frustrating evening.

Listened on the radio. Think it's quite obvious that we still haven't replaced Dennis/Thomas. Too many times are we cutting it back to nobody and taking too many touches in the box. You have Rodrigues and Roberts that both try and do the same thing - pick up the ball in front of the opposition defensive line. It's easy to defend against when they don't have to worry about anybody running beyond them, they rush out in numbers and close down those players on the 18 yard box knowing full well that nobody will run behind them. Wootton is a good player and gets you goals, but clinical finisher he is not. Mitchell, well I'm not quite sure what he is. Oh for a Tshimanga. I know we say we aren't looking at the 'obvious' more expensive options, but clinical strikers that score goals will always demand good money.

Match Discussion: Game 10 - The Shaymen (A)
Me neither. However there's no point in Sam tracking back if he is gonna float around like that. Close them down! It's the last minute of the game, you're fresh off the bench and trying to prove a point, where's the intensity, passion, desire? Just gives a half-arsed attempt and walks back to the half-way line. Muppet.

Match Discussion: Game 10 - The Shaymen (A)
Just watched the highlights. 1st goal: DKE doesn't close down effectively and the keeper should be saving that. 2nd goal: Chicksen dashes out when he doesn't need to. DKE does himself no favours getting caught under the ball. 3rd goal: Elisha Sam should never play for Notts again. There, I said it. You can have all the ability in the world (which he doesn't), but when there's nothing between the ears, you're useless.... and he is.

Match Discussion: Game 10 - The Shaymen (A)
Cameron - Rawlinson - Lacey has got to be our fit starting 3 CBs, surely? Brindley WB one side and Taylor or Chicksen the other.

Match Discussion: Game 10 - The Shaymen (A)
Listed on the radio and it's not good enough. There's no will or ability to shut up shop and close a game out. Bringing in more youngsters on loan probably hasn't helped us. Why change your defence at 2-0 up? DKE becoming an increasing liability.
