  1. Agree Millwall isn't a particularly attractive club. Having said that, Millwall are a club that bounce between the Champ and L1. Pretty much every Notts fan would take that as the status quo for Notts. From a Notts' perspective, you don't really care on the identity of the bidding club, only the figure. 1 million + would be enough, for me.
  2. Alex Paulsen is, according to media outlets, about to sign for Bournemouth from Wellington Phoenix, approx. 1 mil fee. Apparently Bournemouth will allow him to leave on a loan for a season. Would doubt that would be to a L2 club, but you never know.
  3. Our goalkeeping recruitment has been pretty dire recently. The only notable exception being Patterson, but that's 2 1/2 years ago. Stone: Not good enough. Luca-Ashby Hammond: Didn't stand out against Stone and Slocombe. Archie Mair: Penalty heroics aside, never broke into the team. Jaros: Never impressed. Luke Steele: He was dire. Luke Pilling: Never up to standard. That's a hit rate of 1 in 7. Given that Patterson came in as a short-term loan, even that had an air of fluke about how we found him...so you could say it was 0 in 6. With that track record on keepers - another risky bet might not be the best option.
  4. I like Baldwin. Great pace, good on the ball, an eye for a pass. Down-side being his mistakes; slippy mcslipperson, wayward passes into the middle of midfield, big risk taking with no reward. Still relatively young and those mistakes could have been ironed out. Assume he was offered a more squad role than guaranteed starter, with wages to reflect that. Fair enough all round if he wants to be playing every week.
  5. What even is an east midlands mayor?!
  6. Biggest disappointment from that fans forum is that the clipboard man wasn't there with his crazy ideas dressed up as questions.
  7. Harrison Male has left Dorking. Good shot stopper, 1v1. Bit small for a keeper so may not command his box and not seen his distribution. Won all the awards for Dorking in a relegated side.
  8. I'm not sure on Baldwin, even still. Ah well. His pace gets us out many a sticky situation, unfortunately he puts us in half those sticky situations to be begin with. Very sad some of those players that came up with us won't be here, from a sentimental standpoint. Not sure how Morias isn't transfer listed.
  9. Forgot Austin - 5
  10. I wish that bloke nothing but failure in all that he attempts.
  11. LAH - 5 Macari - 5 Baldwin - 5 Cameron - 5 Nemane - 4 - What is he doing. Jones - 5 - Off-day Robertson - 6 O'Brien - 6 Crowley - 6 Langstaff - 5 Non-arsed performance against a NL side.
  12. You don't play Macca and Mullin in the same team, given Parkinson's direct tactics. Either Mullin or Macca would become a very expensive sub. Don't see it.
  13. This doesn't make any sense with our recruitment model. Searching for the best players currently under contract in L2 and L1 = £££. That's Wrexham's model, not ours. Why not the NL? Macari had a loan at the Irish league, they're hardly worlds apart. Langstaff, Scott came from below the NL. Crowley was a free agent.
  14. LAH - 5 - What was he doing with that long range effort? Bizarre Macari - 6.5 - Solid Baldwin - 6.5 - Solid Cameron - 6.5 - Solid Namane - 6.5 - More consistent Jones - 6.5 Robertson - 7 - So much more bite with him in the middle JOB - 7.5 - Class-act today. Crowley - 6.5 Austin - 6.5 Langstaff - 6 - Scored, eventually. Colchester were diabolical.
  15. One thing we can't blame SM is the atrocious defence that he has inherited.
  16. LAH - 6 - Conceded 5. Not sure if any were his fault. Brindley - 5 - Thought he was OK, surprisingly. Baldwin - 2 - Slippy mc slipperson. Gaffe a minute. Cameron - 3 - He's poor. Can't defend. Nemane - 6 Jones - 5 - Nothing really worked. He's useless on the right, not sure why Maynard likes him and Nemane out there. Bostock - 2 - Completely overrun. Can't do the basics defensively and useless under pressure. Austin - 4 - Anonymous Crowley - 7 - Only bright spark. Langstaff - 3 - First touch of a serial killer and that miss, jesus wept. McGoldrick - 3 - Didn't bring anything. Scott Roberson - 6 - Someone who actually put a foot in and got to grips with their midfield. JOB - 5 Randall - 3 - Are we sure this lad is a pro footballer?
  17. An abomination by the continually increasing totalitarian illiberals, dressed and self designated 'liberals'.
  18. I think he should go. You can make excuses all day long about the defence, but any manager that would see that team, with Jones, Langstaff, Didzy and Jatta up top, relegated, isn't with persisting with.
  19. I'd sooner give Aaron nemane the gloves than start next season with stone as number 1.
  20. Out of contract: Richard Brindley - Release. Never convinced by his defensive ability even in the NL and doesn't give enough going forward. Tobi Adebayo-Rowling - Release. He's not good enough. John Bostock - Release. Can't use his ability alone to dominate L2 midfield like he could in the NL. Lost without Palmer. Jim O'Brien - Coaching role with squad number. Aden Baldwin - Keep. Always got a howler in him, but his ability to advance with the ball, pick a decent pass and his pace, make him a unique defender at this level. Luther Munakandafa - No idea. Cedwyn Scott - Keep - Worth another year, depending on how he returns from injury. Geraldo Bajrami - Unsure. Not a regular started in NL. Leave it to the manager to decide. In contract: Adam Chicksen - Love his passion, but we need to improve. Connell Rawlinson -Always loved Rawlo and all the effort he has put into his time at Notts, but the way we play isn't suited to him. Sam Slocombe - A fantastic servant to the club over the years, but it is time. Aidan Stone - We needed to strengthen our keeping department in the summer. Somehow we managed to dilute it. Will Randall - Weird signing. Always injured, never looked good enough. Kyle Cameron - Not quick enough. Gets beaten way too easily 1on1 .
  21. Agreed. This is the most frustrating part of SMs tenure for me. It seemed LW had a handle on our defensive frailties, and by that I mean he knew all about them and focussed on attacking or at least keeping the ball and not allowing the opposition to attack us too much. That seemed to be the high level plan, with varying success. SM seems to try and sit back, which inevitably leads to failure as our defence is dog toffee. This essentially is creating stress in the weakest part of our structure and being repeatedly surprised when it buckles.
  22. ??!! Luke Williams is the reason we have a L2 team to support next season and not a National League team. Let it be clear; if the team performed for LW like they have for SM, we'd be back in the pit of misery next season.
  23. Was he? Didn't seem injured to me. Bostock was the wrong sub to bring on, lost the midfield from that point. McGoldrick didn't look fit. I'm sorry, you can fanboy for SM all you like, but 1 single point at home does not constitute 'a good game for Stuart'.
