  1. LAH - 7 - Didn't have a deal to do, but did it well. Decision-making was solid and distribution on the whole was decent. Warner - 5 - Calamity in the first half. Extremely lucky Bradford are woeful and couldn't capitalise on his numerous mistakes. Improved in the 2nd half, largely as Bradford stopped attacking. Cameron - 6 - Mistake-prone in 1st half, improved thereafter. Macari - 8 - Proper defender and footballer. Robertson - 6.5 - Lot of good stuff, made some mistakes but didn't prove costly. Austin - 6.5 - Does a lot of the unseen things that make the team more effective without shining a spotlight on himself. Jones - 7.5 - Some brilliant balls and of course gets more assists. Makes strange decisions at times. Nemane - 7 - He was decent today. Lot of great touches going forward on a difficult pitch. Crowley - 8.5 - Bradford defenders' heads still probably spinning. Given the freedom of VP. Loses his runner at times defensively. Langstaff - 7 - Got his goal. Should have had at least another. Kept going. Jatta - 8 - Awkward attacker that gives us a lot of options. Great header, even better 1 v 1 finish. Doesn't always win headers when we go long, but causes them enough of a problem that they can't comfortably clear it. For perspective; Bradford were atrocious. They're as bad as we are defending, but they can't attack either. Their pitch is an abomination. The first half of football was as bad as anything the NL serves up. Can't remember much about the ref - must've had a decent game!
  2. This really is the battle of the terrible. Somehow, Bradford are winning that battle so far and showing themselves to be even worse than we are. Cameron and Warner winning the mini battle of the terrible for Notts so far. They're both begging to gift a goal away.
  3. Considered a private investigator career?
  4. It was a really good performance to make the form team in the league look extremely below par. Very daring by Stewart Maynard to switch formations and keeper in the same game. I'm sure, to coin a Paul Mace phrase, the social media numpties, have now 180'd quicker than Jodi Jones. Keeper looked excellent with his feet and distribution on the whole. Made the correct decision time and time again, could tell her was trusted by the defence too. However, had a couple of dodgy moments with the ball in hand. I think that's what we'll have to settle for with him, brilliant on the deck, always a mistake in him though. Jodi Jones is just different class. He's far beyond L2 level. Robertson fantastic last night. Dominated the midfield by covering every blade and being really effective with the ball at his feet. Cameron's performance was concerning. Most of Newport's danger moments came from his side. The amount of time attackers could run in behind him was evident, plus his slow reaction time. Lucky Baldwin covered for him for the most part. He was however, much more dominant in the air.
  5. Morning. As always with political decisions, there will be lots of debate and differences of opinion. It has become more of a modern trend to completely disregard the opposite view to your own, 'othering' the people who subscribe to them as it means that you don't have to concede ground mentally and your side of the argument will appear (at least to one's self) that you are in the correct position. Rarely are these things black and white, despite our club allegiances. Common social media platforms - Twitter the most prominent - promote echo bubbles where people of the same opinion constantly interact with one-another, reinforcing the position of the person and giving a false sense that everybody thinks the same, bar a mad few lunatics. This platform creates a Notts County bubble - mostly - so will inevitably promote Notts bias. It will however, mean you'll encounter different views that aren't Notts related, which is healthy and more consistent with real life. A common reasoning exercise is to consider what a person who believes the opposite might be thinking, and where there may be valid truth and reasoning in that thinking. If you draw a blank on that exercise, I'd prompt that you disengage from one-another as the exchange will not achieve anything. If you are actively debating and both are open to changing your views given certain evidence or reasoning, then please do continue in a respectful manner. COYP
  6. Don't like to deal with rumours, but I'd be infuriated if that's the case. Needed to give depth to our midfield, not to the physio table.
  7. Extremely poor. Stone isn't the keeper we need. All this talk about defending as a unit, but the back 3 plus keeper can't clear basic crosses to the back stick. Mcgoldrick was poor again. Not sure how his second touch at times is so poor. Langstaff poor. Some very good chances he squandered. Bostock looks lost and / or knackered. Nemane is such a strange footballer. He has all the skills and attributes, but his decision making is shocking. It's easier to say who I thought had a decent game; Baldwin, Jones and Robertson.
  8. If that's in the clause we've signed. Why would Crewe sign that off though?
  9. Weird signing if I'm honest
  10. Thought it at the time and again seeing that, looks like a yellow. Not high, no studs, not last man.
  11. Scored today. Then went off injured. Hamstring. Likely season over. How many more of these big injuries can Cal and his career take?
  12. No. Not at all. Complete hot head and erratic, exactly what Notts don't need.
  13. Looked decent when we've seen a few glimpses. Hopefully he can push on and impose himself from the bench in the short term
  14. Seems very much in line with the other two. Decent with the ball at his feet, good shot stopper, bad decision making and prone to calamatious errors
  15. If the brothers past 2 appointments are anything to go by, we're unlikely to know who is the running until the appointment. No doubt the usual social media culprits will claim they are 'in the know' but they'll likely know diddly squat. The only way we tend to find out about these movings is if we're after a manager currently employed and the leak will come from the other club, see Altrincham and Swansea.
  16. Hasn't really worked for either party that short stint. He hasn't given anything to us, and he hasn't put himself in the shop window for anybody else either. He's in the same category as David Vaughan for me.
  17. I don't expect to see any massive change in the way we play, nor the formation. The recruitment team are still signing players, manager or no manager, as proven before with the signing of Langstaff. Those signings are naturally made to fit a certain role and position. What we are likely to see are smaller changes in player instructions, positioning etc.. Also, he may fancy some players in certain positions that Williams didn't. The goalkeeper position and back 3 will be interesting to see who he picks.
  18. I'd be very surprised to see us shift from playing out from the back. The style of the club is clear and we recruit to match that style. We are currently at a stage where both Aidan Stone and Sam Slocombe are prone to mistakes. Agree the defence doesn't help, but the reality is that Stone doesn't save many and also gives the ball away.
  19. Let's get him moved swiftly on, pat on the back, good luck with your career, thanks for the season and a half. Looking forward to seeing the new manager and his ideas.
  20. Oh helllllllll no to Burchnall.
  21. All over media, matter of an official announcement apparently.
  22. Tipton was on trial before he signed on loan. Played some minutes in pre season.
  23. Unfortunately, Stone isn't good enough in my opinion. He doesn't seem to have the confidence to play out from the back and his decision making is shocking at times. Slocombe is the better keeper of the 2, in the system we play. Happy to see what Tiernan brings to the fold, else we need to dip into the transfer kitty.
