Match Report: Alassana Jatta’s Early Goal Not Enough as Doncaster Equalise
There is a lot of criticism towards Stuart Maynard by his fan club, which I don't get. We have several injuries and the players gave their all in the game. We could have scored a second goal if things had worked out, and the opening goal was a thing of beauty. Jatta guided an excellent cross beyond the Doncaster keeper's reach. It was a brilliant goal. We should be taking the positives and encouraging the players. It was a good point on the road, and we are still undefeated away from home.

Who is your Man of the match v Barrow?
I respect all the votes that came before mine, but I think Alex Bass should have been named Man of the Match. He was excellent and was unlucky that we gave away their opening goal so easily.

Football is Tough, But We’re Here for Him – Stuart Maynard on Supporting Cedwyn Scott
I’ve always admired the family feel at Notts County, and this just reinforces that. Stuart Maynard’s support for Cedwyn during this time is exactly what we would expect from a club that really values its players. Mental health isn’t something you can just shake off, and it’s great to see Cedwyn getting the help he needs without any pressure to return before he’s ready. As Maynard said, the team will be there for him, and I hope he knows that the fans are too. I can’t wait to see him back on the pitch, but only when he’s fully ready, mentally and physically.

Who is your Man of the match v Chesterfield?
Some good performances today, I agree. But I've voted for George Abbott. I felt he had an outstanding game for us.

Match Discussion: Game 11 - The Spireites (A)
It doesn’t feel too bad to get a point, but with Jatta scoring and the ref giving a penalty, it does seem a bit unfair on us, especially since it gave them a lifeline. I won't complain much. I think Kellan Gordon looked good in the first half and put in some excellent crosses. George Abbott is growing in his role and is so good at breaking up the play. Dan Crowley was just class again.

David McGoldrick Back in Contention as Stuart Maynard Prepares Notts for Derby with Chesterfield
Maynard’s spot on about Chesterfield’s quality. They’re not your typical newly promoted side, and they’ve invested well in their squad. I think this will be one of our tougher away games this season, especially with their fans behind them. That said, our away form has been solid. If McGoldrick’s back and firing, we’ve got that extra bit of quality to break them down. I liked what Maynard said about the frustrations at home, where teams sit back more. Chesterfield might try something similar, but away from home, I think we’ll have more space to work with.

Stuart Maynard Hails Notts County Fans as the '12th Man' in 2-0 Victory Over Carlisle United
Victory at Brunton Park was much needed. Notts County's disciplined approach, particularly in defence, ensured Carlisle couldn't break through. Jatta and Robertson provided the attacking spark, showcasing their quality. Bass truly stood out with crucial saves that kept a clean sheet intact. The fans' unwavering support was the cherry on top, creating a fantastic atmosphere that felt like a home game. Maynard’s tactical nous and the players’ commitment suggest a promising season ahead. It’s a pleasure to see the team responding so well to the head coach’s strategies.

Who's Your Notts Man of the Match v Carlisle?
Alex Bass should easily win the votes from members. I can’t see anyone else coming close. Jatta and Scott Robertson were very good, as were others, but Bass was the standout player.

Match Discussion: Game 9 - The Blues (A)
It was a good night for Notts. The start of the game was perfect, and the opening goal fell nicely for Jatta to put him clear through on goal. Alex Bass has done this a few times, pumping the ball high up the field to create a good chance. Jacob Bedeau and Matty Platt were outstanding in blocking chances and clearing the ball. Our attacks died off after the chances were made. Carlisle took the momentum and made it difficult for our players to counter their play. Keeping a clean sheet alone feels like a victory.

September's Player of the Month: Pride of Nottingham
There are a few more who could have been considered, but I think Jacob Bedeau has been superb. He has been a big plus at the back for Notts. He’s not afraid to get stuck in and is quite good at moving forward.

MAGnets link - Carlisle United
Greg Abbott, in terms of non-playing staff, has been managing them and working for Carlisle. He has also had two spells with Notts.

Opposition View: Liam Cole on Carlisle United’s Rebuild Under Mike Williamson and Facing Notts County
It’s going to be tough. I like the insight given by Liam into his club. Carlisle United are a good team but have issues. Greg Abbott, our former assistant manager, is there with them. I recall @Piethagoram mentioning that he works as a scout or something along those lines. I would hope the team that turns up can make it difficult for them, but both teams sound like they are still trying to get a grip of the performances so far this season. We are not yet 10 games in, so results could be hit and miss.

"A Deserved Point" – Stuart Maynard on Notts County's Tough Draw with Morecambe
Some fans want to win every game, but that’s just not realistic. Some will just want to see a good performance, but football isn’t always like that. If Notts can win games, it will be because they deserved it and worked hard. Draws aren’t the end of the world. Losing is the worst scenario for a promotion-chasing team. The fact we avoided that speaks volumes. The next win should be big for returning the confidence and morale of the squad.
-
Jacob Bedeau: 'Facing My Former Club Is Special, but Notts County Come First!'
Sensible words by Jacob Bedeau; he speaks well and put in a good performance against his former club. I think he has a lot of growth potential, and defensively Notts should only improve more. Putting aside the poor goal we conceded, we defended well against them, largely thanks to Bedeau.
-
Who is your Notts man of the match v Morecambe?
George Abbott played very well. I have voted for him.
-
Aiden Stone to Boston on Loan
This is the best decision for him and the club. Having Aidan Stone on our books but not playing is never going to do his confidence any good. It’s funny how Sam Slocombe was phased out last season, and now it’s his replacement.
-
Poch In America.
I don’t understand the appointment myself. I think there are far more suitable managers for the national job of the United States, but I wish him well. It’s going to be hard for him.
-
Weekly Chat 23rd to 29th September.
I am spending today in Blackpool, then driving further to Morecambe tomorrow. I had planned to go as far as Fleetwood, but I thought I would have a better chance in Blackpool since it is bigger. It won’t be as far to travel tomorrow, and it will be nice to break up the journey, especially the trip home.
-
Match Discussion: Game 8 - The Shrimps (A)
Morecambe might seem to be in a desperate situation, but I think their performance will be anything but that. I believe they will try to match up, make it hard for us to find space, and even if they park the bus, I would be wary of their counter-attacks

Jacob Bedeau Reflects on Time at Morecambe and Looks Ahead to Notts County's Promotion Push
Since joining Notts, he’s slotted into the defence beautifully, helping to solidify our backline. It’s not just his defensive skills but also his ability to contribute offensively that adds another layer to our game. His positive outlook on our promotion chances is exactly what we need. This weekend’s match against Morecambe is more than just a game; it’s a chance for Jacob to showcase his growth. Really hope we see a standout performance from him
-
Match Discussion: Game 7 - The Gills (H)
I am glad to see the focus has turned to the next fixture. The defeat is out of our hands, but it shouldn’t cause issues with the way we play. Restart a run and continue to work hard, focus on getting the results needed, and pray we don’t cross paths with these officials for some time. It’s frustrating and disappointing to lose in the way we did, but credit to the players.
-
Jodi Jones Injury
It’s a concern, but Jodi Jones is always going to be tackled. It’s sad that he’s suffered an injury, but it’s part of the game, and all we can do is await news and hope he recovers well. Fans will worry because he’s such a good player and due to his past injuries.

One for Poirot : What was the attendance v Gillingham
Someone will have messed up the note or number given for the announcement. No way was there only 11k; it was a busy game, more than normal.
-
Stuart Maynard Reflects on Frustrating Defeat Against Gillingham: "We Deserved More"
Stuart Maynard speaks well, considering how angry he must feel. It’s going to be a test to see how Jodi Jones is and when we can likely expect him back. It just means we have to be even more focused on achieving success this season. I don’t want to complain further about the officials; Maynard said how I feel.
-
Poll: Who is your Notts Man of the match v Gillingham?
Notts didn’t play badly. I thought we were the better team but just couldn’t score. When we did, it was ruled offside. As disappointing as that is, I think Dan Crowley was the Man of the Match. Alex Bass, Jacob Bedeau, Conor Grant, David McGoldrick, and Jodi Jones also did well and were close.
