  1. Are you accusing me of spreading fake news?
  2. Barnsley had an operating loss of 9.6 million last season, so there's still Championship spending going on there. Stockport's spending is huge, but at that time they were in L2 with a smaller slice of tv money. It puts our own figures into perspective, but none of it is sustainable. Clubs are kidding themselves that the football regulator will be a silver bullet.
  3. Not sure what you're all going to make of this. I've posted the link below but have copied and pasted the article to save you the click. Notts to celebrate neighbours' Cup win With Forest just 90 minutes away from the FA Cup final, the dream of Wembley glory is tantalisingly close. And Notts County chiefs have come up with a unique gesture should their rivals lift the cup in May. In the event of Forest winning the trophy, the Reds are to incorporate a red shield on next season's shirts featuring the FA Cup, the Forest badge and two stars symbolising their two FA Cup wins. And their Trentside neighbours plan to do likewise, sewing the celebratory red badges next to their own badge on next season's home shirt. A Notts source commented: "Forest winning the FA Cup would be a once-in-a-lifetime event for everyone in the city. With this symbolic gesture we want to maintain the current positive relations between the clubs and extend our congratulations to our neighbours." Councillor Jo King added: "This is a wonderful example of our city of sport standing together and shows how much more we can achieve when we work together. I'm sure every County fan will be delighted to sport Forest's special FA Cup badge for the whole of the 25-26 season." As part of the celebrations, tentative plans are also being drawn up to parade the famous trophy at Meadow Lane prior to County's first home game of the season while "Mull of Kintyre" plays over the tannoy. 4. The results: Norwich City 1-0 West Bromwich Albion Stoke City 3-1 QPR Blackpool 2-1 Bolton Wanderers Bristol Rovers 1-2 Mansfield Town Barrow 0-1 Chesterfield Walsall 1-1 AFC Wimbledon Dagenham & Redbridge 1-0 Maidenhead United Tamworth 2-0 Eastleigh --- @Megan_Elizax, @Robbie and @super_ram lead the way with 14 points each! --- This is the table overall. @ARLukomski is now five points ahead... --- So they were Saturday's points. We've got another round coming up on Tuesday (tomorrow) - send in your predictions now! Good luck
  5. In a little over 24 hours (7.45pm on Tuesday) it's all systems go again. Dont miss out! @ARLukomski, @super_ram, @Robbie, @4everapie, @gtownjohnno, @menzinho, @Fan of Big Tone, @magpiejue, @liampie, @cheeky~k8, @TheSkipper, @thommo, @Chris, @JustLikeJuve, @allardyces tash, @Joshua, @Blake, @DonnyNotts, @NottsTastic, @CliftonMagpie, @The Heff, @NottsLoyal, @upthepies, @OoooooTommy, @JIMBO, @Harry Buckley, @Hi Humans ツ
  6. OK, I'm assuming he'll be backup now as he seems to be lacking match practice. I'd never heard of an ESC payer before; in Germany, ESC is what they call the Eurovision Song Contest
  7. Crawley Town 0-1 Peterborough United Lincoln City 2-1 Huddersfield Town Northampton Town 1-1 Rotherham United Crewe Alexandra 0-2 Grimsby Town Doncaster Rovers 2-1 Walsall Harrogate Town 1-1 Tranmere Rovers Aldershot 2-0 Fylde (joker) Wealdstone 0-2 Boston United
  8. Here's mine. I might have been a bit generous with the top teams, but it seems we'll need at least 80 points in most scenarios. That's 5 wins, or alternatively 4 wins and 3 draws. Beating Bradford or Doncaster would be massive.
  9. As we're entering the last few games and things are tight at the top, I thought I'd try calculating the final league table based on the last few fixtures. Have a go yourself: https://thefishy.co.uk/calculator0.php?competition=4 I ended up with Walsall, Bradford and Doncaster going up automatically on 84 points, followed by Port Vale on 83, Wimbledon on 82 and Notts in sixth, comfortably qualifying for the play-offs with 78 points. We've still got to play Bradford and Doncaster and I had us to lose them; those games will be pivotal to our chances of making the top three. What did you get?
  10. On Tuesday night we have one of our few remaining midweek rounds. Don't be an April fool - get your redictions in by 7.45pm on Tuesday and remember your joker! Crawley Town v Peterborough United Lincoln City v Huddersfield Town Northampton Town v Rotherham United Crewe Alexandra v Grimsby Town Doncaster Rovers v Walsall Harrogate Town v Tranmere Rovers Aldershot v Fylde Wealdstone v Boston United
  11. Great result on the road, just two points off the top three. We're in the mix!
  12. She will be marked like everyone else @Chris. Not sure about some of those scorelines though!
  13. Norwich City 0-2 West Bromwich Albion Stoke City 2-1 QPR Blackpool 2-1 Bolton Wanderers Bristol Rovers 1-1 Mansfield Town Barrow 2-1 Chesterfield Walsall 0-2 AFC Wimbledon Dagenham & Redbridge 0-1 Maidenhead United Tamworth 2-0 Eastleigh (joker)
  14. Time to dust off your crystal balls again. These matches all kick off at 3pm, and don't forget your joker! Norwich City v West Bromwich Albion Stoke City v QPR Blackpool v Bolton Wanderers Bristol Rovers v Mansfield Town Barrow v Chesterfield Walsall v AFC Wimbledon Dagenham & Redbridge v Maidenhead United Tamworth v Eastleigh
  15. The results: Crawley Town 1-0 Bristol Rovers Wrexham 1-0 Stockport County Bradford City 4-1 Colchester United Carlisle United 2-1 Bromley Chesterfield 0-0 Harrogate Town Oldham Athletic 2-0 Halifax Town Solihull Moors 0-3 Yeovil Town Wealdstone 1-0 Woking --- Most of you managed to beat me, so well done. Congrats to this round's glorious winners @Dan and @super_ram! --- There's little change in our table overall, but @super_ram is now within striking distance of @ARLukomski at the top... --- That's it for now, but on Saturday we will have another round, so keep your eyes peeled for the next fixtures tomorrow. Thanks for playing!
  16. He's a good choice as far as backup goalkeepers in League Two go. He struggled last season due to a calamitous defence and the constant rotation with Stone; with a steadier defence in front of him, he'll do a steady enough job. That said, he still has his "moments" and I'd be glad to see Bass back again.
  17. Great to see he's back on form and having a good season. However, for me it's tinged with a little sadness that he's playing at that level - he looked an unbelievable player at times in the NL and I'd have loved to see how he'd get on in League Two or higher.
  18. Crawley Town 0-1 Bristol Rovers Wrexham 2-1 Stockport County (joker) Bradford City 1-1 Colchester United Carlisle United 1-1 Bromley Chesterfield 2-0 Harrogate Town Oldham Athletic 1-0 Halifax Town Solihull Moors 2-1 Yeovil Town Wealdstone 0-1 Woking
  19. Get your predictions in by 3pm on Saturday for a chance of finishing second behind me! And remember your joker. Good luck! Crawley Town v Bristol Rovers Wrexham v Stockport County Bradford City v Colchester United Carlisle United v Bromley Chesterfield v Harrogate Town Oldham Athletic v Halifax Town Solihull Moors v Yeovil Town Wealdstone v Woking
  20. The results: Coventry City 3-0 Sunderland Plymouth Argyle 2-3 Derby County Blackpool 1-2 Leyton Orient Wycombe Wanderers 0-1 Wrexham Accrington Stanley 1-1 Gillingham Newport County 3-0 Harrogate Town Sutton United 0-3 Halifax Town Wealdstone 3-3 Eastleigh --- Congrats to this round's winner @Fan of Big Tone! --- There's little change overall - @ARLukomski leads @super_ram by 16 points going into the last eight rounds. --- Next Saturday the proper football will continue, so there will be a prediction league round as usual from about Wednesday onwards. Thanks for playing and have a good week!
  21. Hope the sheep don't let me down. Coventry City 2-1 Sunderland Plymouth Argyle 1-2 Derby County Blackpool 2-0 Leyton Orient (joker) Wycombe Wanderers 1-1 Wrexham Accrington Stanley 2-1 Gillingham Newport County 1-0 Harrogate Town Sutton United 0-1 Halifax Town Wealdstone 0-2 Eastleigh
  22. Here are the latest fixtures - submit your predictions by 3pm on Saturday if you fancy playing, and remember your joker! Coventry City v Sunderland Plymouth Argyle v Derby County Blackpool v Leyton Orient Wycombe Wanderers v Wrexham Accrington Stanley v Gillingham Newport County v Harrogate Town Sutton United v Halifax Town Wealdstone v Eastleigh
  23. The first half might not have been great, but I thought we put in a very assured performance in the second half. I was also pleased to see us continue to be proactive and dictate the game after scoring, rather than sitting back and handing the initiative to the opposition. McGoldrick's goal was beautiful, although I initially thought he should have played Jatta in! A good away win against a team that could have overtaken us if we'd lost - we're now five points clear of them. Big points, as the Germans would say. Now let's get back in the top three this weekend.
  24. He's not a happy chappy is he? Credit to him for telling it how he sees it. Nonetheless, it's a bad sign when the assistant manager gets wheeled out to do interviews. 15 matches without a win is shocking, but I think the points gathered early in the season will help get them over the line. They're still eight points clear.
  25. Saturday's results: Swansea City 1-0 Middlesbrough West Brom 1-0 QPR Stevenage 1-1 Mansfield Town Wigan Athletic 1-0 Cambridge United Barrow 2-0 Accrington Stanley Salford City 1-1 Crewe Alexandra AFC Fylde 0-2 Braintree Town Southend United 2-1 Altrincham --- Congrats to @Robbie, who wins this round! All the top three made it into double figures... --- @ARLukomski and @super_ram march on at the top of the table - with ten rounds to go, they have both already surpassed @ARLukomski's winning total of 219 from last season! --- Check by again tomorrow for Saturday's fixtures. Until then, as always, thanks for playing!
