Dark Chocolate Toblerone UK manufacturing being discontinued
To be honest, I didn't know that dark Toblerone was a thing.

Concept kit
I'm not a big fan of the gold, but that looks pretty nice. Concept kits generally look better than what we actually end up with though!

League 2 Watch. 2024/25
It'll be exciting up to the final day. From our point of view, one more win will almost certainly see us in the playoffs - Colchester and Grimsby would then both need a minimum of 7 points to overtake us, which I don't see happening with their remaining fixtures. As for the top three, we're outsiders now but all we can do is win our games and see what happens. Mad that Walsall have dropped out of the top three. After 23 games they were 12 points clear at the top, but since then they've picked up just 24 points in their last 20 games. That's virtually relegation form for nearly half the season.

I can't believe I forgot. If only the person running this had sent me a reminder.

Match Discussion: Game 43 - The Bantams (A)
It was a solid performance and a good game. I was particularly impressed with McDonald. Our secret weapon Baldwin came on too late to really influence the game. A special mention goes to the ref, who is clearly very passionate about the ball being in the quadrant at corner kicks. With that we've taken four points off Bradford and got a point away at a team who have won 16 out of 22 home games. All the same, our hopes of automatic are looking very tenuous and the teams below us are catching up, and that's because of the last couple of games. Work to do!

Prediction league 24/25 round 42 - Saturday 12 April
The results: Cardiff City 0-1 Stoke City Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Oxford United Barnsley 4-1 Bolton Wanderers Bristol Rovers 1-2 Exeter City Accrington Stanley 3-3 Tranmere Rovers Morecambe 0-2 Carlisle United Dagenham & Redbridge 1-1 Hartlepool United Tamworth 4-2 Braintree Town --- This round's glorious winner is @4everapie! But points were at a premium for most... --- That doesn't change the table much, with @super_ram staying top for now. --- Tomorrow (Good Friday) we've got another round on, and the fixtures are online already. So if you're not at Valley Parade right now (and why not?), have a go! Good luck

Food Prices Going Up. (Non political)
This is very much a long-term trend - Wispas definitely used to be larger than they are now (and they're half air anyway). On the other hand, I can't remember Creme Eggs ever being more than 34g! One of the sneakiest things is that products are being sold at less than their advertisied weight. The box of grass seed I bought the other week was the lightest 2kg ever. Thanks for the insight @menzinho, as chocolate is highly processed it's easy to forget that it's originally a crop and can be affected by crop failures. For the last couple of years I've been buying nicer chocolate (the fewer ingredients the better) but less of it.

Prediction league 24/25 round 42 - Saturday 12 April
Not sure I can really count scores from the second half @ARLukomski. But if there's an outcry I might give you your one point back 😁 I'll post the scores tomorrow if I get the time. The next round is coming in the next few minutes...

Match Discussion: Game 42 - The Ammies (H)
I think we can all agree that this result was solely down to @gtownjohnno angering the football gods. But seriously, the wheels coming off after us losing our star loanee midfielder is a touch Nolanesque. But incredibly, we're not quite out of it yet as nobody else seems to fancy League One much either.

Comparison of League 2 Clubs Wage Bills
I'm not sure where these figures are from, but they seem a bit on the high side. The season we were relegated to the Bananarama Premier, we were League Two's top spenders on 3 million for the year while two or three clubs didn't evenmake seven figures. In League One a few years before, about 2.5 million was enough to place us in mid table in terms of budget. I find it hard to believe wages have grown that much, unless these are for overall club expenditure and not just playing staff? I don't find it surprising that we're not near the top though. Most of the teams are about where I expected, with the exception of Colchester.

Match Discussion: Game 40 - The Dons (H)
Not sure, but the scoreboard seemed to be malfunctioning as the Notts fans were repeatedly forced to ask Dan Crowley what the score was.

Notts appointment Head of Football
I had been expecting a new DoF to come in soonish as this is the time of year that clubs start working on their summer recruitment. I've never heard of him but I'm happy it's someone the owners have worked with and evidently trust.

League 2 Watch. 2024/25
I don't think it's been that unusual for League Two, many a team has won promotion on 70-odd points and we're on 68 already. It's just a very even league. That also means that (cliche alert) there are no easy games. At the other end, Carlisle are now nine points adrift of safety and are surely going down with a whimper. Very sad

Notts to celebrate Forest cup win
I nearly announced Steve Thompson as our new DoF @CliftonMagpie, but I was too afraid of the man himself getting wind of it!

Barnsley finances / Football Regulator / Stockport County
Barnsley had an operating loss of 9.6 million last season, so there's still Championship spending going on there. Stockport's spending is huge, but at that time they were in L2 with a smaller slice of tv money. It puts our own figures into perspective, but none of it is sustainable. Clubs are kidding themselves that the football regulator will be a silver bullet.
