I visited the Castle Museum with the rest of my class on a junior school trip to York in 1958.I agree with you @Piethagoram the museum was great I remember seeing the streets you mention and being really impressed.I also remember there was a machine that played recordings of people speaking in various Yorkshire accents.This appealed to me a lot as my mother came from Bradford and I sometimes had difficulty understanding what relatives were talking about.One of the teachers with us at the museum,a Mr.Whitfield ,was also from Yorkshire and helped interpret. -
I know some people who are going to the Canaries on Saturday.I hope they can fix something up and give me a reason to love the Canaries.
