  1. I echo the comments about being strong defensively. Bedeau, Platt, and McDonald did a superb job. The midfield was good once we grew into the game, with praise for Sam Austin down the right side and Josh Martin being very flexible. Dan Crowley was quieter than normal but still performed well. So, I voted for David McGoldrick, as I thought he was the best player on the pitch.
  2. It’s good to see someone as young as Jack speaking so highly of the fans and the club's environment. His comments about the importance of Meadow Lane and the energy we bring as supporters show he truly values what we do. Add to that his praise for the pitch conditions despite bad weather, it shows he doesn’t take anything for granted. Players like him are what make us proud as supporters!
  3. Happy birthday, Neil! You’ll always be remembered as the manager who turned Notts County into a force to be reckoned with. Your passion and drive made us believe anything was possible, and that legacy lives on at Meadow Lane. Thank you for all the unforgettable memories!
  4. David McGoldrick has set the standard for what it means to be a professional footballer. His ability to maintain such a high level of performance at his age speaks volumes about his dedication. It’s not just his skills that make him special, but his understanding of the game and how to exploit weaknesses in the opposition. He’s always a step ahead, whether it’s in positioning or decision-making. The goals have been a bonus, but his overall contribution to the team’s play is what makes him stand out. He’s clearly enjoying his football, and it shows in the way he interacts with the fans and the team. Didzy’s been a revelation this season, and long may it continue.
  5. Alan Judge was one of those players who had the perfect mix of skill and determination. You could tell he was destined for big things even when he played for us. I remember him linking up so well with Neal Bishop in midfield, they were unstoppable at times. What’s sad is that injuries derailed what could’ve been an incredible career. He might’ve even played for Ireland in major tournaments if things had gone differently. That said, it’s a testament to his character that he still managed to make an impact at Brentford and Ipswich after everything.
  6. I thought we handled the game well yesterday, especially given how competitive Wimbledon were in the first half. We looked solid at the back, which is something that’s really improved this season. A few shaky moments, but on the whole, our defence kept them at bay and gave us a platform to nick a goal. It’s always good to see the team fighting for every ball, even when the game isn’t going in our favour. We’re showing more resilience now, and wins like this can be crucial come the end of the season. Every point counts, especially in such a tough league.
  7. What I’m loving about this season is the fight and resilience. We don’t let setbacks define us, whether it’s conceding an early goal or being down late in the game. Stuart Maynard has really got the team believing they can get something out of any match. Today, Chesterfield were dangerous, but we held our own, and David McGoldrick stepping up like that, even after missing the penalty, was massive. That kind of mentality is what’s going to push us up the table. Plus, George Abbott’s performance at wing-back was outstanding. His ability to adapt to different positions gives us so much tactical flexibility. It’s clear the lads are buying into Maynard’s vision, and that’s exciting for the rest of the season.
  8. Really enjoyed reading this interview with Abbott. His take on the game against Chesterfield is spot on, it’s a different kind of match altogether. The fact that he’s only 19 and taking all these challenges in stride says a lot. Playing wide right was new for him, but he managed to make a real impact. That assist was top-notch, and you can tell he’s got a sharp football mind. We’re in good hands with him in the squad, and I hope we get to see him score soon!
  9. Big game today, and it feels like it could be a turning point for the season. Maynard’s comments about consistency are exactly what we need to focus on. It’s a long season, but staying level-headed, as he mentioned, is key. Glad to hear McGoldrick’s back, his experience will be vital, especially in a game like this. Chesterfield are no pushover, but our away form gives me confidence. We’ve been able to create chances, and with our options on the pitch, I trust we can take them.
  10. In the upcoming match against Chesterfield, we have more than points to fight for, it's a matter of pride, given our shared history. The team must channel the energy of past rivalries to galvanise our performance on the pitch. Success against them would not only boost morale but also reinforce our commitment and place in the league. The fans are optimistic and ready to back the players to the hilt. Let’s hope we can show the same resilience and hunger for victory that has defined us in previous encounters. Here’s to a thrilling contest and hopefully, a turning point in our season.
  11. Maynard’s comments about Jatta settling in so well are spot on. It’s not easy for a player moving from another country, but he seems to have adapted quickly. His ability to score and create chances has been a game-changer for us. If he continues this form, it could be the difference between us battling for promotion or just floating in mid-table. I’m really looking forward to watching him develop even further as the season progresses.
  12. It’s a relief to hear that McGoldrick’s being managed carefully, he’s so crucial to our play, and it would be disastrous to rush him back and risk a longer-term injury. The squad depth is going to be key for us this season, especially with injuries starting to hit. Bass has been absolutely solid so far, and it’s nice to see him getting some recognition. His distribution really adds a new dimension to our game. It’s also good that Maynard is focusing on tactical flexibility; we can’t be a one-trick pony.
  13. As Steven mentions the unpredictability of the league, it reminds me how every game, particularly this, counts tremendously. Gordon’s role will undoubtedly be watched closely. If Notts maintains their strategic focus, we’ve got the potential to oust Port Vale and rally forward!
  14. Alex Bass is my Man of the Match. He was calm and every save he made against Carlisle was key for us to win the game.
  15. Maynard’s first half tactics were spot on yesterday. The defensive resilience shown by the team was commendable, especially at a ground as challenging as Brunton Park. Jatta’s goal was a testament to the hard work they put in during training. And Robertson, coming back from injury, added a significant boost to our midfield. The way the team silenced the home crowd in the first half and then maintained the pressure in the second half speaks volumes about their grit and determination. Moreover, the travelling fans were a massive help; they truly were the 12th man. It was a well-earned victory, and I’m excited to see how they build on this performance in the coming games.
