I'm feeling very optimistic after listening to the Notts Panel at the Fans Forum on Thursday evening.- Weekly Chat Monday 29th Sept to Sunday 6th October
It's been a very wild day here with Storm Amy badly affecting Ireland and Scotland. Our flowers were doing very well but they have taken a battering today. I do hope that the ML ground has survived the battering & the overnight winds into tomorrow.- MAGnet Links - Oldham Athletic

I'm really pleased the the Club has announced this today. Notts do have a very rich history to be told and celebrated. I am sure that there will be lots of interest & I hope that dozens of artifacts will be collected that will be eventually displayed in a museum at the Ground.- Prediction league 25/26 round 11 - Saturday 4 October

The fans forum is on the Notts App @Fan of Big Tone- Match Discussion: League Two - Oldham Athletic AFC (A)
Looking forward to this one. It's going to be a great atmosphere on Saturday with Oldham bringing 2000 fans to the match. Should be the best attendance of the season so far. Several players staked a strong claim for a place in the matchday squad with their performances against Barnsley. It will certainly give Martin Paterson plenty of selection headaches for the match. Martin did intimate during the fans forum that he prefers to go with one striker upfront rather than the two. So who will lead the attack on Saturday? My guess would be Jatta up front & that would leave Dennis either behind him or on the bench. I do hope that Jarvis has done enough get a spot on the bench on Saturday along with Ness, who impressed on his return to the defence. If Luker is fit I expect him & Hall to either start or sit on the bench. The match against Barnsley told me that the squad has a whole has improved from last season because there is now strength in depth that we didn't have previously under Maynard. Oldham will be no pushovers & it will be difficult against a side that will have a large support, but the way Notts are now playing I believe Notts can get the win.- Fans Forum
I did enjoy the fans forum & it was good to see loads of questions to the panel. . I thought that Martin Paterson acquitted himself very well & after the forum had ended I was encouraged about the prospects for the season ahead. I particularly liked the updates about the improvements regarding the training facilities at Highfields, the good news about the Padel Courts & the Nest generating welcome revenue for the club. The continuing upgrades around the Meadow Lane Ground. And the great News about the introduction of Notts Heritage 1862, a supporter led registered charity that will care for and promote Notts's unrivalled history as the world’s oldest professional football club. The Reedtz brothers once again confirmed that they are committed to the club for the long haul & want to see the club continue to climb the football pyramid while ensuring that the club continues to do so in a sustainable way financially.- Weather Updates

@Fan of Big Tone yes, that was the one. At the time I was living in Eastleigh & traveled to work in Winchester. Most of the damage was caused overnight & people were told not to travel to work as lots of roads were blocked by fallen trees on that Friday morning. So it turned into a long weekend It was still bad driving to work the following Monday morning. Lots of trees down. Never saw anything like it before or since. Although the authorities didn't call it a Hurricane everyone was saying it was.- Weekly Chat Monday 29th Sept to Sunday 6th October
@Fan of Big Tone They've named storm Amy from the remnants of Hurricane Humberto which has turned turtle & come back across the Atlantic. The Weather people always say we can't have a Hurricanes as far from the tropics as the UK is, but we can get ex hurricanes or extra tropical cyclones that hey now call named storms. I was working in the South in 1987 & experienced hurricane-force winds during the Great Storm of October 15/16, 1987 when the UK was hit by 115 mph winds taking down tens of thousands of trees.- FC Midtjylland and the art of the set piece
I do believe that set pieces are a very important part of football & it is very important that Clubs should work on the training ground to make them more effective as a way of scoring goals. However, Clubs should work to ensure that set pieces are much more less effective against their own defence. We have seen Notts fail to deal with set pieces especially corners which has proved very costly over the last few seasons. I can remember Wimbledon at their crazy gang best used to be very effective at set piece situations. I'm not surprised that it is being looked at as a tactic that is growing in popularity once again, as an effective way of winning football matches.- Tom Wagner, Birmingham City..."..elite clubs should be protected at all costs"
I don't think anyone will be surprised when I say that I don't agree with him. What is an elite Club, a club with loads of available money from a very rich owner or a Club that has a rich history of success over the long history of Association Football in this Country? For me, Owners like those who have taken over clubs during the last 20 years are taking football in the wrong direction. Those owners that want their "Elite Clubs" protected at all costs, want "their own" interests protected at all costs. Football is going in the wrong direction & I do hope that there will be more football regulation out in place to curb the power of the self appointed "Elite Clubs" & bring back real fairness to the whole football pyramid again.- Jack Hinchy to Altrincham
Jack has made 19 appearances for Notts & when he's played for Notts he played steady without being spectacular. But he hasn't done a lot wrong either. To be honest I'm surprised that he has been sent on loan because if either Palmer or Robertson get injured Hinchy would be close to selection. I do hope he can get some game time at Altrincham, but I would have preferred he had gone to a league 2 club because his standard is higher than the National League in my opinion.- Weather Updates
