Good evening everyone. Just a quiet day in with the Mrs after all the festivities. Spent some time last night listening to the Test match coverage from Australia. England won the fourth Test. The first time they've won in Australia in 15 years. It's nice to get a win against the old enemy even though England have lost the series. Hopefully England can win the fifth and final Test & send the Barmy Army home much happier.

This game has now become very important for Notts to demonstrate that the poor performance at Chesterfield is just a one off. It is vital that Notts get a result from this game otherwise they could be five points off third place after all the results are in. I think it's time for a few changes to the starting eleven. I would consider resting Jatta & put Dennis upfront with Hall in the number 10 role. I would bring in Kouhyar for Bennetts. I would also consider bringing in Hinchy for Norburn in the centre of midfield. That would mean Jatta, Norburn & Bennetts on the bench. There may even be a case of resting Grant and playing Jodi just behind Dennis. MK will be expecting Martin to keep the same side. It may be a good idea to surprise them. At the very least, Notts need to try and avoid defeat, but we must be putting more pressure on our opponents, which lately we haven't been doing.

I've been one of those calling for Dennis to start with Jatta but I don't think that both playing together works every time and it didn't work against , Chesterfield. I also think that choosing the same starting eleven every week against different sides can sometimes work in favour of the opposition. Sometimes it's better to keep the opposition guessing. Modern football is a squad game & sometimes it's better to put some fresh legs out there. Kouhyar always impresses when he comes on. I think heed needs to be given a start. Maybe worth giving Jatta a rest and starting Dennis supported by Hall against MK Dons.

In hindsight I think Notts were wrong to let Cedwyn go especially how things have turned out striker wise at Notts.

I'm just going to put this down to a poor performance from the players. The team has had a pretty good run until this defeat today & there has been illness in the camp which could have taken its toll on the players. Martin has been very good up to this point in planning well for opponents, & his tactics have been spot on too. The team just couldn't get going & the first goal was always going to be vital. But for all said & done, Notts have to just put this down to a bad day at the office. Notts need to regroup & put in a good performance at MK Dons on Monday evening.
