  1. I do like to hear Mark Stallard as a summariser on BBC Notts County commentaries. He adds passion, personality, knowledge and entertaining banter to those commentaries, & he was the perfect foil for Charlie Slater as they took us through our promotion season.
  2. Latest from the MET Office. Rain spreading east on Saturday.
  3. It was so sad that the original Macclesfield Town came upon hard times and was unfortunately wound up in Sept 2020. A phoenix club Macclesfield FC, rose from the ashes and began life in the North West Counties Premier Division, the fifth step of the National League system, in August 2021, and currently competes in the Northern Premier League following two successive promotions. It's great to see Macclesfield coming back and they can still dream of returning to league status one day.
  4. I do look for the results of Basford United & AFC Mansfield (not to be confused with Mansfield Town) which is my local team.
  5. I've been very impressed with Jim over the last few weeks since Luke left. The management showed great confidence in Jim to step in and Jim stepped up to the plate & acted in such a professional way. It was clear that the players have great respect For him too. I was particularly impressed by the way Jim handled the interviews, where he demonstrated that he had a clear vision and plan for what he wanted to do while in charge. When Jim's playing career comes to an end, I believe he will have a future in football Management.
  6. I was fearing this with all the freezing weather we've had. Mansfield game already called off.
  7. It's so refreshing for players and fans, that we have a club captain in Kyle who is ready and able to lead by example and guide the players in what is always a tumultuous time when a Manager/ Head Coach leaves. Experience and commonsense is always important at this time too, & Kyle has an abundance of that. Kyle's leadership is going to be very important as the team has to transition to the new coaching methods, ways, tactics & system of play. And Kyle is already doing just that.
  8. Update from the Met Office.
  9. This is so sad and it effects a whole community and it's the supporters who suffer the most. But this is just symptomatic of what's happening in Football around the Country with the rich clubs getting richer and those clubs down the football pyramid struggling. We have seen it time and time again over the last few years, but the football authorities either can't or won't try to do anything about it. The solution is simple. The Premier League need to filter much more money down to the lower leagues, & there should be a contingency fund, or something to that effect, to help clubs such as Nuneaton who come across hard times.
  10. @Chris Sutton are mid table, so I think it's going to be a tough game. I think it may be a draw, but I'm hoping for a win. Notts need to start winning some of their home games to put some space between them and the bottom two.
  11. Stuart Maynard's definitely in charge for Saturday.
  12. Philippa Davies previews Sutton Coldfield at home.
  13. Income tax shock as 650,000 more state pensioners face HMRC bill from April Pensioners are more likely to vote for the Conservative Party than any other age group. The latest Tory tax attack could change their minds. The 2% cut in NI is definitely not benefiting pensioners. Our tax burden will be increasing, not decreasing. Income tax free allowance needs to be increased in April. https://www.express.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/1857490/state-pension-pensioners-income-tax-threshold-freeze-Jeremy-Hunt-stealth-raid-triple-lock
  14. Mansfield home game scheduled for Saturday is off due to frozen pitch
  15. This is so funny. Enjoy ????
  16. UK Storm warning, danger to life.
  17. Notts County 2 Oldham 0: First Division, Nov 1991 featuring Paul Rideout and Tommy Johnson.
  18. Latest from weather watch. Met office has named Storm Isha that will hit the UK at the weekend. Stay safe
  19. Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid are Melbourne Wheelchair Open Champions. Congratulations to both.
  20. Devastating news for the fans of Nuneaton Borough FC withdrawing from their league and facing liquidation. The big six in the Premier League get richer by the day, yet football is in crisis with lower tier clubs struggling with their finances. There has to be changed because there's no such thing as fairness in the footy pyramid.
  21. Meet the Players. Shoniqua Barnes: Striker. https://nottscountywomenfc.co.uk/teams/Notts-County-Women-FC/players/661910
  22. The weather is on the change for the UK leading up to the weekend with milder air from the west. Good news for sport Batten down the hatches, strong winds forecast and possibly stormy conditions for Sunday & Monday.
  23. It's a winning start for Joe Salisbury and Heather Watson in the mixed doubles. Neil Skupski and his partner Santiago Gonzalez win to reach the third round of the Men's doubles.
  24. Lloyd Glasspool and his partner have a great win in the mixed doubles Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram win to force their way through to the third round of the men's doubles.
