  1. It could have been a non-promotion release clause that was met and we had to accept, either way he's gone and we have to build around it. Surely we have shortlists upon shortlists around every player and position given the way we operate.
  2. I'd hardly consider myself as educated on the topic of some players but... Hubert Graczyk - Keeper from Man Utd (probs loan) David Button - Keeper free agent - released by Reading Sayouba MandΓ© - Keeper - Ivory Coast internation - free (from what I can gather) Kai Kennedy - AM/LW from Queen of the South Sylvester Jasper - ST from ŚlΔ…sk WrocΕ‚aw Nathan Butler-Oyedeji - ST free agent - released by Arsenal James Balagizi - CM from Liverpool (loan) James Olayinka - CM from Waterford - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8YYGLH5QBw Salah oulad m'hand - CM free agent - released by Arsenal Cameron Congreve - AM from Swansea (loan) Dru Yearwood - CM - played for Nashville, Red Bulls NY, Arsenal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dru_Yearwood
  3. Not too sure I agree with you. We replaced Langstaff with Jatta who was already here and being bedded in for the transition as we knew we'd probs lose Langstaff. It worked in our favour as well at the beginning of the season, it was just the second half where Jatta wasn't performing due to whatever went on behind the scenes with the Saunders and Maynard. I do agree this is disappointing as he's been probs one of the best keepers we've had since Bialks, but I doubt Griffiths is even second choice. Given we've just had B team stuff announced, he'll be most likely featuring in that team. The main thing that many people are alluding to is asset stripping the club, which is scandalous (not saying you are @TheSkipper ) but I think the money in which we've made from on Burchnall, Williams, Langstaff, Crowley, Bass, Nemane is being invested into "the club". Training grounds cost a fortune and so does the uptake and upkeep of a stadium and it's facilities - including the wages of the senior technical board. This doesn't mean, however, we're not willing to spend on players. I imagine majority of the profit is ringfenced for certain players when their stats or themselves become available - like Jatta and Traore. I'm glad we don't just buy frivolously like the Trew/Hardy days. I'll make my judgements at the end of the window as I'm disappointed at where we currently are, I ackowledge we're a transitional club in League 2.
  4. What does the former Zimbabwean cricketer make of Paterson's employment? πŸ˜‰
  5. I've had chance to think about it and if you push past the swathes of negative reaction on reddit or on the bbc because he didn't have a very good win ratio with a poor Burton squad, he hasn't had a chance really. Burton took a punt on him in a league above us, so he at least deserves a bit of time here. People will calm down after being somewhat blindsided and if he gets a couple of wins and a couple of players in that we all can get around, it will be quickly washed away.
  6. deflating. if joao alves is still assistant, it's even worse.
  7. Neil Warnock is very much a manager of the past which I do think that it's best kept that way. The best way that we progress, even if we do get a manager which we're not all happy with (Paterson anyone?) then if they back him up with a decent backroom (but not dedicated to the coach - more to the club and the cause). I think if we have an assistant, first team coaches etc, that may or may not have a link to the club then that puts us in a decent position.
  8. Very underwhelming. Either way with Denmark seemingly now out of the U21's, we'll find out soon.
  9. To be fair it's the most thankless of roles in the squad. Normally it means if they're playing, there's a huge amount of pressure because of injury/suspension so every eye is on the player just look at Brookes a season or two ago. I think it'd need to be someone with a decent amount of games played.
  10. Hard one based off one signing and no manager. Based on my confidence in the brothers from what they've pulled off previously, I'm optimistic. They saw we were fragile at the back after our first season back in L2 which was thoroughly addressed and have replaced players like Rodrigues and Langstaff with equally good talent. The issue is now, we've had quite a bit of talent go in the last 6 months and it not really been backfilled (Crowley etc). To map where we need to be, we need a creative and technically astute player to play behind the forward (possibly 2 given McGoldrick going). I think the reason for the lack of comms is that they're trying to figure out how best to opmitise, given they've got a bit of a blank slate with a bit of cash to play about with it. Gagliardi has barely got his feet under the table and has already had to get his hands dirty. Will he look and say that the way we effectively and economically adapt is by changing formation? And these questions all link up to the manager and preferred style of play they bring to the club. Not to mention that we really need a experienced and vast support staff, because we're very much lacking in that department - we effectively fell off a cliff when the Saunders brothers left last season. I'm waiting for their sort of analysis/season end statement they've mentioned before I start to **** myself.
  11. Server issues is my guess, given it's a 503 error. I don't think they have the right sort of infastructure to hold up so many fans/conversations, hense why it's always on its arse.
