Kyle Cameron and John Bostock shine as Notts County come up short against Wrexham
john bostocks free kick is the type of goal you hope would win games, i thought wrexham did better in the first half. a lot of iffy antics but both teams played well. as i said in the match discussion, i dont personally blame the officials i thought they did quite well. unfortunately notts just was not good enough on the day. its what it is, but we have had a good season and need to use this to push on through the playoffs.

Match Discussion: Game 43 - Red Dragons (A)
it was a very entertaining game in the end, especially in the second half. i thought they did better in the first 45 minutes, they looked dangerous and we rode our luck at times. i want to say, i think the officials made very good calls throughout the game. the referee was aware of mullins antics, the assistants made the right call with each of the offsides. its unlucky for us, that baj had a nightmare of a game. him being shoved to the ground, it was a foul but the way he went down seemed very easy, his back flick was a huge blunder which is unlike him but i dont fault the calls. its hard not to give the benefit of the doubt to a striker under those circumstances, its the same as the decision in our favour when mullin dived due to cameron slightly touching him. i feel very sorry for scott that he missed the penalty, i disagree that it was bad. ben foster did well to save it, the ball was hit with power and a good placement. foster has always been decent at saving penalties. i dont blame the miss and although i think defensively notts should have done better. i am proud of the squad. i honestly feel we missed baldwin in the back.

Where are they now... Zeli Ismail
i thought he was the type of player that needed a honest manager, that would motivate him but also call him out. he had some great games for notts but did come across as a bit lazy at times. i dont question his ability, but his hunger and attitude to be successful. i am surprised hes playing for a welsh club though.

Notts County boss Luke Williams pursues perfection in National League campaign
not just a tactical genius but a mastermind of mind games! luke williams is a very calm and coy manager. you have to love and respect his style.

Frank Vincent helps Notts County surge back to the top of National League table
i hope he continues to get game time, since hes come back vincent has done well when played and deserved his goal yesterday. the team did jason turner proud, going back top of the league was just the icing on the cake. it was a great day!

Match Discussion: Game 43 - Red Dragons (A)
pressure is on both teams and with it being on tv, i would be lying if i was not nervous. i hope the notts fans that manage to go, go in good spirit and enjoy the game. it was be incredible to hear the notts chants at wrexham's ground out performing the home team. that would help the nerves and the players. i dont the players will be too phased by the occasion, they just need to keep focus and do what they do best.
-
Match Discussion: Game 42 - The Stones (H)
i think they buckled on the occasion and just struggled with how quickly notts would press. on the ball we made it very difficult for them to move it or get it forward without lumping it forward. every time they seemed to smash the ball away, it seemed to go to one of our players and the pressure would just come back. i think the first mistake they made was switching which way we attacked, i think they would have a better 45 minutes if they had the family stand behind them instead of the kop. that said notts were just determined to get the result and i think langstaff deserved a brace. his effort that hit the post, i thought that had gone in. it was a very good home win which sets up monday against wrexham nicely.

Notts County claims top spot in National League with Macaulay Langstaff's Record-Breaking Goals
incredibly touching game and well deserved win for notts, i think wrexham dropping points and us going top on goal difference was a remarkable part of the game. the chants from the kop was encouraging and it felt a lot more special. i think jason turner and @GrannyPie would be proud of the lads. as will every other fan who has sadly passed away during 2023.

Match Discussion: Game 42 - The Stones (H)
i dont think we can, as teams can spring a surprise or just perform better than us but i think we are in good form right now. fingers crossed we can get those points.

Notts County boss Luke Williams plays down importance of fixture rescheduling
i would not expect anything different from luke williams, he needs to focus on what he can control and not what is out of his hands. bt sports will always have the say on kick off times of the matches they cover, its frustrating for fans but we have to get on with it. we have had a good amount of coverage this season so at least the money is a boost.

Match Discussion: Game 42 - The Stones (H)
i dont think they will throw much at us, i know some think they have things to play for but really i doubt they will secure a playoff space. i dont want to talk them down to much, but there is a reason why we did so well against them at their ground, i think our confidence is growing again and a good performance would unite the belief that this season is ours for gaining promotion. automatic promotion may not be likely but i am confident about the playoffs. games like this must become routine for us to finish with a win.

Cedwyn Scott and Junior Morias set to boost Notts County's firepower in final push for promotion
having scott back for the final run of games would be a blessing, we just need to keep everyone fit and avoid any injuries that would cause potential set backs. preparing for the playoffs is something luke williams has to be aware of now.

Match Discussion: Game 42 - The Stones (H)
talk of the wealdstone raider again. ????????♂️ i hope we smash them and he leaves meadow lane asking his own fans if they want some. ????
-
Match Discussion: Game 41 - The Robins (A)
are those on international duty back? we could do with brooks. i have nothing against mair, but i feel more confident in brooks and if slocombe is out again. i would rather go with someone who is comfortable. mair looked nervous and away from home i can picture him being a lot busier than he was on saturday against scunthrope. if he starts so be it, i accept luke williams call but personally i would opt for brooks if hes free. i am not sure what altrincham are like at home but as others said in the last games discussion an early goal would be nice.
-
Match Discussion: Game 40 - The Iron (H)
i think they were poor but i dont think that takes anything away from the way we played, notts looked a far better class than them. they looked uninterested and like a side not wanting to play as a team. it was honestly one of the worst away performances at meadow lane this season. we should have sealed the 4 goals we won by in the first half. call them the iron? more like a chocolate tea cup.
-
Match Discussion: Game 40 - The Iron (H)
it probably wont but if there is any doubt, i think it would be a huge risk to play him. i know we are thin up top, but risking a worse injury would derail the club further imo. i am hoping scott is ready to come back. its hard to know what with the club being quite hush hush on injuries and the local media not asking.

Notts County FC and Notts County Foundation announce family fun zone for community day fixture
i hope this will be a good thing for young fans, its nice that the club has setup something for them and of course the cheaper tickets should get quite a few down.

Match Discussion: Game 40 - The Iron (H)
i can see a few rotations being made due to players being on international duty, the biggest question i think is who will be in goal? if slocombe is not back and brooks is on international duties it leaves us to play mair in goal. jones is away, langstaff could be missing due to the knock he picked up. that itself could present problems, if hes fit enough to start due we risk playing him? if hes not, who will play upfront? ruben? there are many questions. hopefully some of the injured players will be able to return but nobody should be rushed back.

Match Discussion: Game 39 - The Bees (A)
i think its still a good result, we are a step closer to securing the 2nd place which will be helpful for the playoffs. its just that the two points dropped makes fighting for the title even harder, i dont think we will catch them now and that is frustrating. i am incredibly proud of the squad for what they have and are achieving. over 100 points would be a great accomplishment.
-
Notts County held to a draw at Barnet, but still in contention for promotion to EFL
its not the result we wanted but i am proud of the notts squad, we cant always win but at least we can keep pushing forward. the amount of points gained, brooks making his way into the team, the squad fighting for promotion are all highlights. its not over until its mathematically impossible no matter anyone says.
-
Match Discussion: Game 39 - The Bees (A)
i dont like reading some of the tweets and posts to the official accounts on social media, i get some fans are disappointed but this season has been incredible. its not even over, we cant take much notice of williams saying its over. it will only be over when its no longer possible to overtake them but it seems unlikely. a 1-1 draw against barnet is not the worst result, second half sounded brighter from notts. we have had a fair run of games, its a positive season and many good things have happened.
-
Andy Morrell credits Notts County for inspiring Wrexham's best season performance
nice words, it makes a change to see something complimentary to notts. i think its the same for both teams tho, without their pressure we may have fallen short sooner. its been a great see for both clubs, a good title race too.

Match Discussion: Game 39 - The Bees (A)
a big test for notts, away from home and somewhere the points are vital to be picked on. barnet should be in or around the playoffs come the end of the season, i can see them wanting to win to push further on up and to maximise their chance of securing the playoffs so its all to play for.

Match Discussion: Game 32 - The Spitfires (H)
i thought the ref made some bizarre calls but instead of being biased, just completely incompetent. i need to see the highlights to judge the penalty he gave for eastleigh to open up the score, but from what i saw i think it was more them grabbing our players and ours trying to get them off. possibly something they trained on as a way to get a penalty? i think they looked pretty poor. thankfully we had the time and creativity to change the outcome. ruben missing the penalty was a bit of a disappointment but joe mcdonnell did well to make his double save.

Rodrigues brace leads Notts County to victory over Eastleigh
as of yet i have not seen the highlights but i thought their penalty was highly controversial. i mean the amount of hand balls they made that could have been given, to the one the ref actually gave. if that is, why was the others ignored? i loved langstaff for trying to get the ball back quickly and encouraging the attacks. i thought all of the players did extremely well against a team that tried to kick them off the park.
