  1. i think other teams are in better form than us, right now i think we are in a decline that is going to be difficult to get out of. its not something i am really worried about, as i think being stronger is more important. i would hate for us to go up and to struggle in league one, i mean we might not but injuries have impacted this season. i cant see our form improving massively, i think most games will be draws, with some wins and others ending in defeat.
  2. teams will always bounce up and down between the premier league with a few surprises along the way, maintaining long term success these days is hard. the playing field has never really been level but at least clubs like brentford are emerging stronger for thinking outside of the box.
  3. back in the day, i used to always be on here and @Fan of Big Tone was the person who would always be alongside me or even on before i came on. its great to see other members who have the time to get involved such as @Robbie. the impact this season has had with pon and the hacking, i think its made the community a lot more like a family which clearly comes from the top with how caring people are. i wrote yesterday off, i felt disappointed but it has not ruined my weekend. tbh i dont know what to do with myself today. i thought about going out on my bike but it felt too cold for that. i have mostly been sitting on here and reading comments, replying between other things. tomorrow, i need to fetch my mums shopping and then drive it over to her. i will be staying to catch up but then i will be going out with my dad and uncle as they have invited me to something.

    Playoffs

i think the thing is that it would take a big turn around for us to suddenly start winning games, it might happen but notts feels like we are in decline. i am not being negative but realistic, as i dont know what the future scores will be. i can only go on performances and what i see, i think its a bit of a stretch to think we can win the majority of remaining games. to me i think we will fight, but fall just short. i dont think the season is over and it depends on how notts responds from this defeat but i am mindful that stuart maynard needs time and it just wont suddenly get better. despite this, i do feel we can reach the playoffs but thats if we go back to doing things right and how quickly we can implement those needed changes effectively. i am not a negative person, i try to think on the brighter side but i do understand why some may say there is no chance because the signs right now are small.
  5. yes, i am pleased for jodi because he works hard even when he might not be at his best performance wise. he still works hard to create assists and chances to get us on the front foot.
  6. i like tobi but hes not very defensive minded, he can make decent crosses and attacks quite well but where does he fit in with the other options we have? we need players like him roaring to go and to make an impact. brindley always tries, but defensively hes not a centre back. those are two potential releases. if jim remains as a coach at sheffield united, i doubt he would choose us over them.
  7. i can understand the frustration because it was poor to see how we performed after taking the lead, i would not say we settled for that goal but it was like we went through the motion of having scored to concede and then being afraid to go again. gillingham did well, they knew where we was weak and the first two goals show how teams are noticing the aerial threat. as a team we do need to mark better and try to win the ball back once we have lost it, we can pass around and have large amounts of possession but when we concede due to not pressuring the opposition it does make it more frustrating as a supporter. i am glad fans decided to leave, without venting their frustration after the game. there may have been some who did, but i heard no booing and no offensive comments.
  8. this may be fixed now, it does not seem to happen to me anymore.
  9. hello and welcome @Mapperley Pie, i hope you stick around and join in with pon.
  10. hello, @Wheelbarrow repair man. interesting username. welcome to pon! care to tell us a bit about yourself?
  11. hello, @Sophie d. welcome to pon.
  12. is this just to help man city get off with their punishments? it does not sound fair at all. it just plays into the hands of the bigger clubs. it sounds very negative and i am tired of football repeatedly changing its rules on a whim.
  13. i think the people complaining all the time have a mix of things going on, they are in a negative group of fans, some i doubt even attend the games, some of it is to just be vocal and stand out on social media. i dont interact or engage with it, i think sometimes people have valid points where seems negative but those who constantly complain just cant enjoy football for what it is. some of the comments at times directed to players on social media should be challenged by the club but we are too scared of losing fans. majority of notts supporters are great.
  14. rest in peace, he started to get a fair bit of cameo appearances after happy gilmore. its sad news.
  15. this is amazing and something i did not know, its a great story. hopefully there are facts and things out their that can validate this and be something the club can look towards preserving in their plans of a museum.
  16. with the way the programmes are going, there is room for the clubs to insert more from the fans perspective and to bring a bigger draw to them. i know it was attempted to be revived, but unfortunately, its difficult. good article.
  17. some brilliant goals, of individual ability and class. elisha sam and his efforts was just cheeky.
  18. well done to jodi, i think we are starting to see his desire and impact towards wanting to help the club continue its promotion push. hes shown a lot going forward and deserves this acknowledgement. on his day, hes difficult to play against and we need to continue to get the best out of him. i would love to see stuart maynard allow jodi to have a level of freedom when attacking. if we can get a few more goals from him on a regular basis, instead of just the assists we may start to improve our overall form. obviously its a team game but there is no doubt that jodi jones is one of our best players.
  19. tough game but I thought we handled them well at their ground, i am hoping to see a spirited performance where we cause gillingham nothing but problems. i dont think it will be easy but its our best chance to get off to winning ways under stuart maynard. the home advantage needs to work in our favour, i have been a bit disappointed as of late with the amount of noise generated and i know we can do better. i hope the players make an impact that helps encourage our support, it could be a big difference to the outcome.
  20. tommy lawton, neal bishop and kasper. a non related to football would be interesting but i think @DangerousSausage might not need that.
  21. i was going to say, hes never managed a scottish club before. mostly just championship teams? i wish him well, aberdeen should do better with him at the helm. the spl is not that much different from championship/league one football.
  22. what is artistic swimming when its at home? oh, its another way of saying synchronized swimming. i wished they just named it that. well done to the duo for winning silver.
  23. i went to mansfield, watched notts and enjoyed a free weekend otherwise. i did not get up to anything of interest on sunday, it was just me at home watching tv.
  24. i thought bostock, nemane and cameron were all very poor. i am more close to agreeing with @Robbie with the overall ratings. but those three players could have easily been replaced.
  25. looking at his wiki, i dont think notts missed out much on signing him. interesting to know but there is probably better free players we have missed out on.
