  1. its good to see dan crowley settling in, you can see it with his performances and he does seem to be getting better by the game. he fits so perfectly within our midfield, with matt palmer and john bostock behind him. that quality is a fantastic spine for our midfield with the quality out wide and with crowley notts will always create good chances.
  2. i like that luke williams is acknowledging that the teams performance has put him in the running for the manager of the month award, its really down to both but the squad might not be so successful if it was not for his management. hes clearly a very good up and coming manager that puts a lot of things into the game, especially when he thinks about how his words influence the players.
  3. lee hughes could not do wrong by our fans until we let him go, but the way he was deemed to be in adequate and then joined port vale. macca deserves just as much love as hughesy did, but i was disappointed by the amount moaning about him not scoring and suggesting he needed to be dropped.
  4. its great to see macca in form, he looks sharp on goal in training. its also a joy to watch him celebrate by dashing in front of the kop to celebrate near the pavis with his iconic jump in the air. hes a great player, even when he does not find the net and deserves nothing but our full support.
  5. i think we have enough depth to cover jodi jones whilst hes on international duty, i would like to see adam chicksen start but its good that will randall is now ready to play. that leaves the challenge open for him to fight for his place in the team. its also good to hear the comments on the loan signings, although i do think we will see them more in cup games than the league but at least we have cover.
  6. mk dons are a good team, i think we should do well against them with the level of our performances having increased. its still very early days but the league is starting to take shape, its a good chance for us or them to show their dominance. this will make it a difficult game, as i think both teams will approach the match in a way where near try to rock the boat from the moment kick off happens. it might be a little so, as we feel them out but i do believe it will be entertaining.
  7. hopefully, the goals and the words from luke williams, gives macaulay langstaff more of a boost. he does work so hard in games and i think we brought him into the game very well against accrington stanley. langstaff looked like he would be a constant threat and playing the ball to his feet does make a huge difference.
  8. mk dons at their ground will be difficult. they always try to play championship style football, quite different to us. they have a lot of pace and a lot of quality in their team. it could be a very difficult game. our away form will hopefully start to match our home form. this would be a good indicator as to how we may do over the course of the season. honestly, i would take a point. i know i mentioned improving our home form but a draw would be a positive start, ideally we would go play well and come back with all three points but i think we will be quite evenly matched. with them making it hard for us. i dont think expect us to outplay them by much or if at all. dont take this as a negative or a lack of faith, i fully believe we will give a good account of ourselves but i think mk dons have been slightly better in overall form than us.
  9. hes becoming quite the mercenary of football. little loyality and i am surprised wolves want someone who can easy jumpship so easily. some might think i am being harsh, whatever, i think i could be much harsher on him. personally, i think he smells an opportunity to become a manager of a first team in england again. wolves is not an upgrade over anderlecht, i hope he did not drag his family to belgium with him, because this would be another negative. on the potisives, this is classy from his former employer, where he spent six months. ???? https://www.rsca.be/en/Ian_Burchnall
  10. it was an impressive display, accrington also played well as a team and created good chances. although i stopped fearing after we went 2-1 up, as their finishing was not the best. luke williams is right about how the team showed a lot of toughness not to go back and allow accrington to control the game more. after our opening goal in the first half, i felt we sat back and became nervous but at 1-1, they looked content with a draw rather than wanting to win. we always looked likely to get into it in the second half and those two goals show the quality we have. macaulay langstaffs second brace which is incredible!
  11. haha... the school one is very funny. something about schools i want to add is how stupid the catchment areas are becomming, my cousin is started senior school this year and he lives 5 minutes from where i went but the school he goes to his 30 minutes in car.
  12. notts are far more appealing to fans of all ages now, i just hope we can maintain them when we are not doing as well. there will be a time when notts are not chasing promotion or are struggling. these numbers makes a difference, yes they will drop because some will find their reasons for not staying when its harder. yet right now we are living the dream. i wished we could put the away fans in the family stand and fill the sirrell with our own. if the club did this, i think we would see the kop less busy but still looking full. the players would come out to three side of our fans. something to consider for the future. seeing this us beat 10k for every home game so far is great to see.
  13. their manager seemed like he was not happy before the camera started rolling, but his points expressed does go against some of what he said. he failed to mention all the fouls they made on jodi jones, aaron nemane, richard brindley, macualay langstaff, david mcgoldrick. at times it was almost like they thought, the ref would not give them a yellow so taking a notts player down would give them a chance to stop us from being a threat. they did very little to stop us, i agree that we just slowed down and allowed nerves to get the better of us. accrington when they played football did look like a good team, but nothing special. for the budget i assume they have, it is impressive what they are doing but pretending to want to say nice things about his side, only to moan makes him seem a little daft and biased.
  14. the photos before the game and early on, shows how things have changed at meadow lane. so many happy faces and long may it continue. our fans were great again. its good to see these back, keep going @Chris.
  15. solid performance by notts, i dont think anyone in the post match part of the discussion were incorrect for expressing their strong belief in the team. yes, accrington made it hard but our quality shined when it mattered. accrington really need a more mobile striker, josh andrews did okay but for the most part he was isolated. the chances he had with his feet was not that convincing either but they did well as a squad. i am so pleased we managed to put on what was a great performance. i think jodi jones had a quieter game but it would be difficult considering the amount of times accrington took him out, the referee really was not fair towards jodi or richard brindley who got kicked in the back rather pointlessly. also, how jodi was given his final warning for the accrington players diving effort into his boot [low to the ground] was beyond me. i thought the referee was dire. glad he did not cost us the points.
  16. i thought accrington stanley looked like a decent team, but with no disrespect intended nothing special. they are not a side i would want notts to allow to control the game, as we saw what happened after we took the lead and they grew into the game. i just feel our quality really shined, especially in the second half when we created chance after chance. langstaff had several efforts, so i am pleased he got two today, even though he was limping before his second. awesome performance!
  17. @Fan of Big Tone i think most pon members are able to put mistakes past once the game has finished, some may need a day or two but usually common sense prevents it being long term. i was not bothered when dan crowley missed, but its the type of thing had notts drawn some might have been a bit critical of. i think enjoying the game first and foremost is important as thats what we pay to see, a good result is only a bonus.
  18. please do add at least a few words explaining your choice, as to make this interesting and not spammy. i think it will be interesting. i am curious to see what the pon members will choose. mines the darkness - i believe in a thing called love i have never been bothered that notts have been poor or average, its what i grew to like about the club. that we tried and fans had that connection with it. i like how fans look out for each other, those difficult times would be different without this. now that the club has the reedtz at the helm and luke williams as the head coach. there is nothing better than watching and supporting notts. ❤
  19. its all very positive, its definitely coming along nicely. our home performances have been much better since the Lincoln City game. Luke Williams and the coaching staff are doing an amazing job, the players are also doing so well too. Everything that Williams says, we can see being put into the games or training. i am really enjoying the season so far.
  20. its nice to think about but we need to focus on league two, we are still adapting but progressing nicely. its nice to dream about seeing the club playing at a higher level. i am just glad to be back in the football league and on the verge of being a very good league two team at that. those days of us being average or just moderately good seem long gone.
  21. i have been watching a lot of pundit videos on football, along with vlogs and articles. our recent game against tranmere rovers was a very enjoyable game. not just because of how notts played but also how tranmere did, the game was very lively and i thought the atmosphere made it even greater. but i found myself asking are we being too critical at times? does it effect the fun of watching games back? dan crowley missed a sitter, after david mcgoldrick hit the post from his shot. it bounced around and somehow perfectly found its way to matt palmer. who put in an excellent pass for crowley who really should have scored but placed the ball wide of the goal post. this moment in the game had me very excited, almost on the edge of my seat because notts had put a lot of pressure to score a 2nd goal. reading back, seeing all the comments, i do wonder if we are guilty of being too critical and if it comes as a cost to the enjoyment? i am not saying its wrong to be critical, i am just asking does it ruin the enjoyment of that moment in the game when things that entertain us happen and then looking back we tend to put it under a magnifying glass.
  22. i dont know why, but i really feel sam austin would do well against them if given the chance. something in my mind is saying that he will score and make it difficult for accrington, tho i dont see luke williams actually starting him even with cedwyn scott's injury, i think he will be on the bench and the formation similar to what we have seen recently. stone rawlinson brindley cameron nemane palmer bostock jones crowley mcgoldrick langstaff the team really does write itself, but i would be tempted to put mcgoldrick on the bench for austin, two reasons, firstly because when they tire he will be a huge threat and secondly because austin likes to find that space inside the oppositions half where teams put multiple players on to mark him. this is why i feel he could score, as he likes this type of game. only time will tell.
  23. i really like connell rawlinson, i think sometimes people can be too critical long term of minor mistakes because overall he has shown that hes a very good defender. yet to hear some fans talk, its like hes richard diffy! [just for you @Chris]. when he scored, i felt so pleased for rawlinson and i hope he continues to defy those who write him off.
  24. it looks like he painted notts supporters in the away end. is the person a notts fan?
  25. i completely agree with this, notts were very dominate until cedwyn scott had to go off. that changed the game, i dont think tranmere would have scored otherwise. i do think they would have tried, but i dont think they would have found the space. i also believe that their player handled the ball before he shot to which aidan stone saved. its what it is, i do hope luke williams hangs back on making all 5 changes. this is probably done to give more players minutes but also to avoid unnecessary added time being awarded.
