Kevin Nolan has stressed that Notts County will not be "held to ransom" this transfer window.

The Magpies have impressed over the course of the season but many fans believe there is need for reinforcements in the squad to build on their current second-placed position in the table.

A striker is thought to be the main priority and, although Nolan says he's open to bringing in one or more new additions, they will not be "going stupid" for the cause.

β€œIt’s about making sure we do the right business and if somebody whets are appetite then we will have a look,” the gaffer told the Nottingham Post. β€œBut we will not be silly or going stupid. We are not going to be held to ransom over anybody.

β€œWe know what we want and what we need. And, if the right players comes up, I am sure the management team, the boss and the board can then come to an agreement to keep the club moving in the right direction – which is moving forward.”
