Tomorrow’s League One opener at Meadow Lane, I’m actually more optimistic about Notts than I was a few weeks ago. Leicester are obviously the bigger club and have a squad that, on paper, should be challenging for promotion. But Notts have already shown they can compete at this level by taking Burnley to penalties in the Carabao Cup. Leicester beat Northampton 1–0 in their cup tie. The bookmakers and pundits generally lean Leicester, but there is one prediction that caught my eye: William Hill are actually tipping Notts to win 3–1. My own prediction? Notts County 2–1 Leicester City I can see Leicester having plenty of possession, but Meadow Lane could be absolutely bouncing, and I think Notts can cause them problems with pace and the way Martin sets the side up. And there's an interesting psychological angle: Leicester will be expected to win. Notts have nothing to lose. That's exactly the sort of fixture where Meadow Lane can make a difference. COYP ⚽️🤠

What a hot day to be busy on, horses, shopping for their food as well as ours. Trying to stay on top of my other chores by attempting to jet wash the decking, looking after the birds by putting up a drinking station and food station after the building company wanting to build at the side of us removed trees and hedgerow so the birds couldn't nest. The only thing happening is getting the washing out and it drying, then more out and it drying and so on and so on. Looking forward to seeing the partial eclipse this evening in the midshires. I must admit my head was a shed last week and concentrating to write was out the window. Unfortunately I have to wait 4 to 6 weeks for my next medication as it has only just been passed by NICE. The pains I get are now head, neck and shoulders, increasing in intensity and all past injections, medication and manipulation have not even touched it. Hopefully the new injections will help. @Fan of Big Tone i hope all goes well with your car and I'm sorry for not posting last week. Today Mrs P and I were heading out with our two granddaughters into Lincolnshire looking for a Farm Park plus animals, and guess where we ended up ..... Skegness, so the Seal Sanctuary had a visit, closely followed by the beach and then the funfair, all in all a busy old day. Varifocals @StarkMallard are absolutely brilliant for myself but it took me a couple of weeks to get used to them. You will find that when doing everyday tasks such as reading and using your phone come second nature, just have faith, but be careful when climbing and descending stairs, as if you get it wrong there is no return 😖

I must admit that I'm quite partial to an IPA called Neck Oil. Neck Oil is brewed by Beavertown Brewery, which was founded in 2011 by Logan Plant—the son of Robert Plant. Logan started brewing in the kitchen of his barbecue restaurant in North London before the brewery grew into one of the UK's best-known craft beer brands. A nice bit of trivia: the name "Neck Oil" came from Logan Plant remembering his grandfather saying he was "off down the pub to oil his neck"—an old expression for going for a pint. Neck Oil is generally considered a very good session IPA, especially if you're looking for something easy-drinking rather than intensely hoppy. I have also tried several other IPA's and found them rather tasty and satisfying. My other favourite is Guinness which I agree is a Marmite thing, you either like it or you don't, no middle ground. 🤠

Totally agree with @McPie Jack Evans stood out as well for me, and i thought Belshaw was once again gave a solid performance. Martin Patterson made it clear in his post match interview that we are light in areas that matter and coupled with the injury list doesn't bode well for the beginning of the season never mind Burnley in the Carabou Cup. Looks to me like something needs to be done asap or suffer the consequences.

Pre-season results are always worth taking with a pinch of salt, but it's encouraging to hear we played well. For me, the biggest positives are fitness, building partnerships, and seeing how the manager wants us to play. If we're becoming flexible enough to change formations depending on the opposition, that's a good sign—it shows we're not going to be one-dimensional this season. I'm not a huge fan of behind-closed-doors friendlies either, as they're a missed opportunity for supporters to see the team, but if they help the club assess trialists and prepare properly, I understand why they're used. A 2–1 away win at West Brom is still a confidence boost, even if the real test starts when the league season kicks off.

From experience i know success is not immediate, so I'm being a patient patient. Good results on the blood front, just the eyes to sort now eh? Thank you also @Chris it makes it such a pleasure to hear positive talk, weather it is banter, football or just a chat, it seems everything is always from the heart. A few words for Mr Infantino and Mr Trump :- We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so that stupid people won't be offended. 🤑

One to cheer 😄 A simplified urine test that may be relevant for at least some of us men..... Go outside and pee in the garden. If ants gather:- diabetes. If you pee on your feet:- prostate. If it smells like a barbecue:- cholesterol. If when you shake it, your wrist hurts:- osteoarthritis. If you return to the house with your penis still outside your pants:- Alzheimer's 🤣

Not done much today as I am feeling a little under the weather, yet another urine infection, so having to take antibiotics for a week. Having had Prostrate Cancer, had it removed and suffered 2 years of incontinence, the artificial sphincter i have fitted tends to be great most of the time, but every now and then decides to cause a little infection, still it's better than wearing nappies. 🤠

Looking at it i find things understandable as :- From Jatta's perspective: It's a step up to a top-flight European league. He'll have the chance to test himself at a higher level and potentially earn a bigger contract. At 27, this is probably the ideal time in his career to make that move. But, and it is a but. From Notts County's perspective: Losing a striker who scored so many important goals is a huge blow. Replacing his goals and physical presence won't be easy, especially as the club prepares for life in League One. If the transfer fee is reinvested well, it could strengthen the squad overall, but there is always a risk when you sell your main goalscorer. I'd say it's one of those transfers that supporters understand but don't enjoy. Jatta became a real favourite at Meadow Lane, not least because of his goals and his role in helping County win promotion. The big question now is whether Martin Paterson's recruitment team can find someone capable of replacing those 17 league goals. If they can't, County's ambitions this season become much harder. Or have we already achieved that with the latest signings? ⚽️

Not a great deal of rain here in the midshires either, so we have had to increase feeding hay to our horses as there is no grass to keep them going. Lovely pictures once again @Piethagoram so serene and stunning views. Not so in France and Spain as Wildfires are claiming lives, properties and causing mayhem coupled with confusion. I feel it for the Firefighters who are working so hard for little reward. They are throwing everything at the situation with little or no reward. Although homes and businesses have been burned to the ground, most people and their pets have been evacuated, unfortunately wildlife is fighting for itself. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who are involved, may it all end soon without to much human and animal loss. 🙏🙏🙏
