Good morning from the sunny midshires. @Robbie @Fan of Big Tone I'm sure the week shortens or seems to after a Tuesday night game. Where does time dissappear to anyway without a midweek game?? 🤔 Well they have started clearing the land and putting up the Harris fencing, apparently ready for thr groundworks team to start tomorrow, Friday. Can't wait to enjoy the thrill of listening to big machinery, lorries taking crap away and delivering building materials to site. 🥴👎 On a happier note, the sun is out and all around is drying out once again. That reminds me, I must cut the lawn 🤠 have a good prosperous day everyone.

For me there were two outstanding performances last night. James Belshaw made two really important interventions, particularly the fingertip save from Alfie May and then the excellent clawed save to keep May’s header out. Without those, County could easily have come away with nothing. Ollie Cooper did it for me though, his tenacity and skill with a never say die attitude, on top of a great finish, earning a well deserved point, what more could a Notts fan want 😃 Ness also had a solid performance 👏

If Martin chooses the same 11 that started the 2nd half on Saturday, I'm sure positive things will happen. I’m quite optimistic about this one. Doncaster haven’t won in the league yet — two draws and a defeat — whereas Notts have started unbeaten with five points from three. Notts also come into it after the 2–1 win over Burton. The interesting thing is that Doncaster are favourites, mainly because they’re at home, but I’m not convinced by that. Their home form has been pretty cautious, and they’ve struggled to score consistently. For us, I think the key is not getting dragged into an open game and physical battle. If they can stay compact and then use Smyth's pace and movement, I think Doncaster could have problems. COYP.

Up this morning to very loud noises of machines preparing the ground at the side of us for building new houses, 133 of them to be precise. After trying to fight the proposed planning permission and failing, we are besides ourselves with the worry of noise, dust, over parking and non stop removal of debris and delivery of materials. Such is life i suppose, and yes I know we are supposed to embrace and welcome change 😝 @Chris once again nice to hear that family plays a big part of your everyday life and thinking. Nice one my friend. I have never bothered with social media @liampie as you say too much of everyone wanting to influence and unsettle your life to live in line with theirs. Daniel Kanu. Why I think he could be valuable to Notts He is a natural goalscorer. That's probably the biggest attraction. Notts needed somebody who can turn chances into goals rather than simply contribute to the build-up. He gives us pace in behind. Richard Montague specifically highlighted his ability to run beyond defenders, using his pace and power. He should suit Paterson's pressing game. He's described as hard-working and effective out of possession, which is important in the way Notts want to play. He offers something different to Luka Smyth. I think this is particularly interesting. Smyth can give Notts a physical focal point, while Kanu can stretch a defence and attack the space behind it. He's only 21. So there is genuine potential for him to develop considerably during the season. And there's an interesting bit of context: Notts apparently had competition from other League One clubs to get him, so this isn't simply a case of Charlton looking for somewhere to park a young player. The obvious question is whether 15 League Two goals translates into goals in League One. That's the gamble. But I actually like this signing for Notts. We have been saying for a while that we needed a proper striker who can occupy centre-backs, run behind them and finish chances. Kanu appears to tick those boxes. If he can get 12–15 League One goals, I'd regard the loan as a major success. If he gets 15+, Notts may have uncovered a player whose value could become very significant. And knowing the preference for Smyth, I could see Smyth and Kanu complementing each other rather nicely rather than competing for exactly the same role. My early verdict: Potentially one of the most important pieces of Notts' recruitment this summer.

Then off to pick up horse feed for the boys, deliver back to the stables, then home to clean up before a shave, shower and applied foo foo, so one smells nice, finally setting off to Skegness for a night of Northern Soul, and to cap it all off a drive home once the show has finished. 🕺💃 🥳😵‍💫

I thought Finneran had a good game, he looks the business and a good asset for the season. Nick Tsaroulla had another good performance when used, I don't think we use our right flank enough and cannot understand why our bias is towards the left? My man of the match goes to Mustapha, both through the first half struggle we had, he battled and fought for every ball, using his size, strength and speed to win balls that he shouldn't have. Second half pairing up with Smyth to form a cracking partnership helping keep pressure on their defence for long periods of time. A great contribution from an improving player.

Around 125 firefighters are battling a huge blaze on an industrial estate in north London. The fire at a mixed waste facility in Neasden is close to Wembley Stadium and sent a huge plume of smoke billowing across the sky. The fire has caused the closure of the entire Metropolitan line on the Tube and the part suspension of the Jubilee line. Rail services to and from London Marylebone station are also being delayed or cancelled due to train lines to Aylesbury being blocked. My thoughts and prayers go out to the 125 + Firefighters tackling this nightmare of a blaze. They run in when everyone else is running out from danger, may God bless them all. ❤️ This is very close to Wembley Stadium, I hope nothing is on there this evening.

Good to hear you sorted the better price for your car, sometimes it is worth challenging these things when a large amount is expected to leave your bank account. Mrs P is my special person for challenging these things and normally comes out on top. Hope things go to plan. Dolly Parton was not only a great singer but a fantastic person also. She was one of those rare entertainers who became much bigger than her music. She was a singer, songwriter, actress, businesswoman and philanthropist. Long may her memories last in our minds, and songs tickle our ears forever.

Nice one @theAnticlough that is a good treck. Definitely a long way when you need the loo. 🤣 Today's adventure took us to Skeg Vagas where we had a lovely lunch of fish, chips and mushy peas. Absolutely awesome and a must do, when in the seaside area. Mrs P also wanted a runner (carpet, not Mo Farrar) for our kitchen, so searching was carried out and success was 50/50 as she found one, but not available till Thursday, meaning another trip. 🤔 On our return journey we thought that Farmer Brown's Farm required a visit for a cuppa and the purchase of fresh milk, homemade marmalade plus biscuits. We also searched the whole establishment but there was no sign of Mrs Brown, or any of her boys. Unbelievable 🤠🐮🐄🐖🐽🐑🐎 Have a great day one and all. 👍

Today my thoughts go out to you @Fan of Big Tone keep strong my friend, and with you @Chris stay positive my friend and don't let these issues get you and change your fantastic attitude and hard work. Today's adventure on the East Coast has led us to :- Donna Nook, a place i had never heard of. The unfortunate thing is that there was no organised range work for the RAF and US Airforce, or we were not there at the right time. 🤔 The wonderful walk we had and the beautiful flora and fauna, coupled with the odd sighting of local wildlife more than made up for it. Three satisfied customers happily mad their way back to our lodge. Happy days 😀

I have to wait until May next year, although I'm not wishing my life away. The morning here in Mablethorpe has opened up with beautiful sunshine 🌞 and warmth. Luton are rightly favourites. They started the season with a remarkable 4–3 comeback win at Reading, scoring three times in the second half after being 3–1 down. They also finished last season strongly and are being tipped as one of the main promotion contenders. But there are some reasons for optimism: We held Leicester to 1–1, and deserved the point. Realistically we should really have won. Luton showed against Reading that they can be vulnerable defensively — conceding three goals in the first half is hardly a sign of an impregnable side. Notts now know they can compete at this level. That Leicester result should give us plenty of confidence. And with our pace and attacking threat, I wouldn't be surprised if Notts cause Luton problems on the break. The big danger is Kenilworth Road. Luton are aggressive at home, and if Notts get pinned back for long periods, it could become a very difficult afternoon. My prediction 2 - 2
