  1. Im glad everything went alright with the lung CT @Fan of Big Tone and once the results are in you can chill with the 40 pints of home brew, well planned strategy that 😉 🍺 Fires are not the best thing to start the working week with @theAnticlough especially if you are tipped out in the middle of the night, good to hear no one was hurt. I understand the mayhem as for 31years I used to respond to such incidents, not nice. I can sympathise with losing sleep, as all you do for that day is walk round in a trance, or so it seems. These things just show you how fragile life is and how we must make every single second count. Back to work for me again this morning, and what a lovely fresh morning it was. Im not counting down but 4 weeks and 4 days to go and the freedom of retirement will wrap itself around me like a comfort blanket and take me forwards into an unknown future, can't wait. 🤔 Live long and prosper one and all. 🖖
  2. Consolidation is the key word, work both on and off the pitch is a real necessity to position ourselves in a viable workstream giving foundations to build momentum from season to season. Slowly, slowly catchee monkey. Have faith in the brothers by backing the club as a whole. EFL 1 to start me thinks. ⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
  3. It looked like a different team from Tuesday evening, although their chips (not the potato variety)had been returned and all was back to normality. What a superb performance albeit against poor opposition. It was pleasing to see that when we had the ball the movement was brilliant and whoever had the ball had so many options. Up to going off Norburn was running the show, and when Grant replaced him, he had one of the best games I've seen this season. I thought Tsaroulla and Macari gelled perfectly as though they were reading each others minds and creating so much down their RHS. Iorpenda looked back to his stupendous self, pressuring and giving no quarter. All in all a fantastic performance 👏
  4. I totally agree @theAnticlough the bond between Lewis and Nick has developed really well over the last couple of months, they seem to have a telepathic understanding and awareness of where each other is and what to do to progress the football. Until injury Norburn was running the show with sublime touches and the guile to open up space for his team mates, and when Grant replaced him, he had a great game. I think every player gave their all for the team yesterday and left everything out there, fantastic result. Bring on Grimsby next week, I can't wait. COYP ⚽
  5. What a lovely morning it is today. I hope that you had that pint yesterday evening @Fan of Big Tone to celebrate such an emphatic win. A totally different team performance from Tuesday evening 👏
  6. What a lovely fresh and inspiring day today, as @Fan of Big Tone says, looking forward to being able to watch live for the first time in weeks (feels like forever) due to illness. Me and my boy (not so much a boy at 44) will be attending, hoping for an exhilarating performance from our team after Tuesday's disappointment. Hope you all enjoy the game and the boys do us proud. You will enjoy your pint @Fan of Big Tone I'm sure. 🍺🥳
  7. Freddie is back and full of enthusiasm for the games after his boating exploits. A Norwich City 2 v 1 Birmingham City Wrexham 1 v 1 Ipswich Town Northampton Town 2 v 0 Leyton Orient Peterborough United 3 v 1 Exeter City 🃏 Colchester United 2 v 0 Barnet Gillingham 1 v 0 Oldham Athletic Boreham Wood 1 v 2 Forest Green Rovers Solihull Moors 2 v 2 Hartlepool United Here be the entries for this week's gladatorial exchanges from a revived and cool Freddie 😎
  8. Absolutely clueless, no idea and once again no plan B.
  9. Good morning one and all. @Fan of Big Tone you have my total sympathy as the loss of a long standing good friend is like losing a limb, you become lost without it. I hope everything goes well at his life celebration. As for me, first day back after weeks of illness. Not really looking forward to it, but sometimes you have to bite the bullet. Probably the saving grace is handing in my notice after 43 years, time to turn the page and embrace my family and life itself. 🥳 Weather not too bad today, especially after what we've had lately, still had hat and gloves on to come to work, also a little rainy now. Whatever you are up to today, have a good one and keep smiling 😃 as it is infectious. 👍
  10. Unfortunately for mid week matches Freddie has gone boating and is not available 😢 these results could be way out, sorry. Barnsley 2 v 0 Peterborough United Bradford City 1 v 0 Stockport County Exeter City 1 v 0 Wycombe Wanderers Barnet 1 v 2 Swindon Town Oldham Athletic 2 v 2 Bristol Rovers Tranmere Rovers 0 v 2 Accrington Stanley Wealdstone 1 v 3 Hartlepool United Yeovil Town 0 v 17 Aldershot No heart, no adventure. Should really read no Freddie, no chance. 🤣😂
  11. To beat Bromley in the English football league, you need a patient approach. They often set up in a 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 shape, so you can exploit the wings with wide players and overload the final third. Also, focus on set pieces, since they tend to concede from them, and press early and late to take advantage of their structure. From this our team choice is paramount and the inclusion of players such as Robertson and Iorpenda central with Jodie and Tsaroulla playing wingback, and Norburn in the number 10 role. However the defence is also key and Macari, Platt and Bedeau need to keep playing with the gusto and determination they have over the past six games especially.
  12. Freddie is full of himself this week even saying he will be number one. Derby County 2 v 1 Swansea City Portsmouth 1 v 3 Sheffield United Barnsley 2 v 2 AFC Wimbledon Blackpool 1 v 3 Plymouth Argyle Crewe Alexandra 1 v 1 Gillingham Oldham Athletic 0 v 2 Fleetwood Town Tamworth 1 v 1 Aldershot Woking 2 v 0 Altrincham He didn't say in what though 🤔
  13. @Fan of Big Tone thank you for the link, much appreciated. Looks like you have to wait for the written invitation, apparently you have to wait until it's the turn of your surgery to get one. 🥴👍
  14. Thank you @Fan of Big Tone for your kind words from me and Mrs P, she is on temporary tablets for the short term but if it persists a long term version is available. Nice one regarding the lung CT Scan, never had a sniff of that, must be new, is it. Good news with the roof man hopefully sorting things out.
  15. Good morning from the midshires. I was thinking of Sangria to be honest @Fan of Big Tone as it compliments both sun and sea whilst away in sunny climes. If there is something else please enlighten me as my memory is not as good as it used to be. 🤣 My chest is improving day by day thank you, and I hope to return to normality on Monday the 16th of February. Mrs P has now had her second bout of the dreaded Vertigo, not nice, and is off too, once again pills are doing the trick. 👍 The weather here has taken a change for the better as I can see a little sunshine 🌞 whoops it gone. Milder though than it has been for a while. Hey @Fan of Big Tone did you manage to sort the roof? My Osteopath told me that the exercises for arms and legs can be done at home with resistant bands, increasing resistance as you go, if that helps. I hope everyone has a good day. Live long and Prosper. 😎🖖
  16. Good morning one and all. @Fan of Big Tone at least you have the wonderful memories made of sun, sea and what other 'S' you choose to look back on 🌞😎 The wet weather has been falling in some parts of the UK for 40 days (biblical stories come to mind). I think we have to be grateful that on Saturday the forecast is wall to wall sunshine, happy days. Back to the doctors today as the Chest Infection has not subsided at all, starting to get fed up of it now 😮‍💨 still there are more people far worse off than myself, so chin up and off we go. 👍 Whatever you are up to today, enjoy and make the most of it.
  17. Grit and determination has been our forte over these past few weeks, keeping us all on the edge of our seats. We now have a squad with plenty of variety and depth, but for the next test we have to be at our best. Converting chances needs to be the aim, to put us firmly in the frame. So come on County do us proud, enabling your praises to be shouted loud.
  18. In this game of locking horns with a stubborn Barrow side, having a definite disrupt at all cost attitude, I thought Bedeau was an example to his team mates, Leading from the front. I agree with @YoopEyes Matty Platt is now firing on all cylinders and was a contender. My vote goes to Nick Tsaroulla, like @Fan of Big Tone says he was superb all over the pitch, giving and making options for himself and others.
  19. My condolences @Fan of Big Tone it's never easy losing anyone especially a close friend. Prostate cancer is a silent killer and takes no prisoners. My father (God bless him) insisted that from the age of 50 i should approach the doctor regarding a PSA test, as my Grandad and Uncle had it and passed away. In March 2017 I was diagnosed with the Cancer, what a shock. In November that same year it was removed, in and out again in 3 days. Unfortunately I fell ill after being home for one night (SEPSIS) blue lighted back in and 17 days later returned home, the rest is history. I cannot reiterate enough how important it is to get tested.
  20. Freddie releases the scores. Birmingham City 3 v 1 Leicester City Wrexham 2 v 0 Millwall AFC Wimbledon 1 v 1 Reading Mansfield Town 3 v 1 Exeter City Gillingham 1 v 0 Tranmere Rovers Walsall 2 v 0 Barnet Altrincham 1 v 2 Yeovil Town York City 0 v 2 Forest Green Rovers Here endeth the contribution towards this week's scores from Freddie and me. Good luck all.
  21. Good morning one and all and thanks for the health wishes. Cold and damp with a little added mist for effect here in the midshires this morning. Not a day for venturing far me thinks. Today is a day for reflection so please read on :- "Our hope is what can sustain us when things look bleak and difficult. And that is the reason why I believe that hopelessness is the enemy of justice. Justice will prevail if we allow ourselves to give in to hopelessness. Hope is our superpower. It's the thing that will get some of us to stand up, even when people say, sit down. That will get some of us to speak, even when people say, be quiet It's the thing that will get us to believe we can do things that maybe others think we can't do." - Bryan Stevenson Thank you Bryan.
  22. I have to say the same @Robbie and @theAnticlough this was a game fought and battled from the trenches. The legs save in the first half and unbelievable saves in the dying moments to give us a clean sheet, it's a no brainer James Belshaw is the man.
  23. A really scruffy performance, but we battled for the 3 points. Belshaw saved our bacon when he made several fantastic saves late on, so onwards and upwards 🙌 bring on Barrow.
  24. Good day to you @Fan of Big Tone I'm glad Lanzarote is warm and sunny for you both. County did us proud at the weekend, battling the pitch, weather and Fleetwood. Still suffering with this chest infection, hopefully the x ray I've had will show something. Weather cold but dry today, not my ideal day for going far. Rain forecast on and off for the rest of the week, so break out those umbrellas. 🌧☔️
  25. Freddie practicing his victory dance, what a mover. Portsmouth 2 v 1 West Bromwich Albion Watford 2 v 2 Swansea City Peterborough United 2v0 Huddersfield Town Stockport County 1 v 2 Plymouth Argyle Chesterfield 2 v 2 Walsall Crewe Alexandra 3 v 1 Colchester United Braintree Town 1 v 1 Eastleigh Sutton United 1 v 2 Brackley Town Freddie knows that a happy ferret is one who is flexible not ferocious.
