  1. First of all the Club Captain has to be the conduit between management and players. Have both understanding and appreciation of what is required in that position. Be firm and assertive on and off the pitch, being respected, approachable and having a likeable personality. I think Matty Palmer after that unfortunate injury has suffered with finding his mojo again, he's not vocal enough before, during or after a match and concentrating on his match craft to me would benefit him tenfold. I think Jacob Bedeau is the ideal candidate, he has all the qualities needed to make an excellent Captain. He seems to me to be a natural leader so why not give him the chance.
  2. Today's Gift. TIME. It came to fruition around 1500 BC, To indicate daytime as we will see. Measuring the length of daylight hours, An Egyptian invention needing no power. A method not changed for many a while, Of course you guessed, it's the sundial. Then a long wait for a 14th century chime, The first mechanical clock, invented this time. Move along now to century fifteen, When the watch itself was first to be seen. Improvements made from year to year, Seconds, minutes and hours, all very clear. This is a concept, a simple illusion, Made up of human memories without confusion. Time is the progression of events we see, From past, present and future to you and me. It cannot be touched, seen or tasted, So make the most, ensure its not wasted. If there's no time, there's no progression, Nothing could have started, in any fashion. A precious resource from way back, Use it well and you're on the right track.
  3. We obviously are punching well above our weight, their reactions are quicker than ours, and as soon as we get the ball they are all back defending and all want to play football, looking and moving for each other.we have alot to learn, unfortunately with only 10 men. Happy days.
  4. Meadow View. An eruption of earth, the first today, He's coordinating his GPS to show the way. Mr Mole it is checking out his territory, Snout a twitching with absolute severity. Now he has risen to find his mark, All good here, back down to the dark. Sparrowhawk uses corridors of air, Allowing silent approach, nothing aware. Hanging in the air like a child's kite, Looking for prey with keen eyesight. Lock on to the target, Ready to go, Wings back, legs tucked just like an arrow. Faster and faster, and not a sound, Talons released as it reaches the ground. Swift and accurate, the prey to take, Food for little one's, not yet awake. Horses munch on sweet new grass, No idea of time, allowing it to pass. Some on all fours, some laying down, Taking in fodder without a frown. Singing birds, a cacophony of sound, Coming from everywhere, all around. Nature's orchestra tuning up for the day, Giving a wonderful feeling, one must say. What a privilege to hear, smell and see, Wonders that are there for you and me.
  5. Just bolstering our defence i hope, we have a settled back 3 who play well and know each other inside out. The only other reason I see for loaning him is to be part of a back four like we reverted to yesterday evening in Germany. We can only wait and see. 🤔
  6. Today's Feast. Forever True. Sequential signs of effervescence, A perfect indication of your presence. Invisible tentacles spreading the world over, Caressing hearts, Keeping all sober. Influencing moods of mindful people, Joyous feelings, high as a steeple. Roaming this globe, not always found, Like the mists of time hugging the ground. Enveloping the lands in which we live, Families and friends, they freely give. Something that's positive and precious too, Providing a platform in all we do. Readily given by all who partake, At times work is needed, make no mistake. There is one thing that you can guarantee, Delivery of hope and kindness for us to see. This will eventually lead to the promise land, Somewhere we can go, hand in hand. It doesn't just cascade down from above, That wonderful treasure we all call LOVE.
  7. Page one of three turned on our German adventure. Looked like a good workout for us and I'm sure Martin will take alot from this performance, especially the interchange of personel and differences made. Time to move on and look forward to the next outing. COYP.
  8. Good luck to him, may he plough his furrow to the end somewhere he is wanted. All the best Didsey, one of our own.
  9. Awesome, Made the hairs on my neck stand to attention. Stirs emotions up from the heart and makes one proud to be a Notts fan.
  10. What a shining example to us all you are Kimbo. All the suffering and pain you have gone through and brightly shone as a leading light to everyone. May the dreams you have be fulfilled totally and you have the time to tick off that bucket list, everything from top to bottom. An absolute legend and rolemodel for us all.
  11. Bonjour and come on in @James Macdonald test the water, you'll find it very welcoming. Enjoy 👍
  12. Spot on that, informative and witty at the same time. Interesting little crumb regarding Jatta, we can only wait and see. The main thing is a good squad of players are there and by the sounds of things, all ready to go. Thank you for a great blog.
  13. Happy days, good memories, you can't beat them with a big stick.
  14. Music is such a force whichever way it affects you. Bringing back memories, good, bad and indifferent. It stirs the soul, makes you want to dance (two left feet me) sing or hum along and even mime words you don't even know (making out you do). Has unbelievable power to deliver all emotions, either up or down. The song that reminds me of the School disco's we used to have is "you can do magic" by America, sublime Friday night billing and a cooing at the ripe old age of 13, hoping to connect with a girl you had your eye on. Happy days. "Time to say goodbye " from "Phantom " reminds me of dark times after an accident and having to wait for c Spine surgery. Solemn and sorry for myself. The wonderful Simon Webbe and "No Worries" brings back how my now Mrs P Trapped me literally with a dumper truck full of horses crap against a wall. 12 months later we were married. Thanks Simon, I've never been so happy. Bye the way that song was our first dance, it had to be eh? Saying goodbye to loved ones is never easy but I find that music wraps it's arms around you as if to say I'm here don't worry, emotions are good for both remembering and reliving good times. When Dad passed after fighting cancer for two years I delved into his favourite music, which was quite extreme, from Glen Miller and "in the mood" to Queen and "live forever" such wonderful memories.
  15. Here we go off into the depths of Germany hoping that all three games here will provide a good quality outlook for the future season to come. I think Martin will pool different ideas, informed by what happened on Saturday. Then hopefully we'll start seeing our most positive and productive formation going forward. Personally, after Martins interview following the Alfreton game I am eager to see him follow up on and back up his thoughts constructed from that. All things considered, I hope that the squad and fans who are making the trip all enjoy Germany and it's beautiful countryside, returning safe and fulfilled.
  16. A very warm and sunny welcome @BridgyPie I hope that you have times a many enjoying and contributing to the site.
  17. The weekly offer. CLOUDED VISION Is that a chicken strutting before me, Having a ball within the palm tree. A goat appears looking quite sublime, On a tall peak, no reason or rhyme. Look at the dolphin exquisite and smooth, Adorning the frame, well on the move. Clearly into view, and flying so high, A rocket appears way up in the sky. Next we have a canine surprise, Jumping and twirling no compromise. Mare and foal come clearly into view, What a wonderful pair are these two. Outlines once so vivid and clear, Look away and they dissappear. The only thing is, what clouds reveal, Unfortunately for us are not real.
  18. Welcome to the pleasuredome @MikeWood come on in and enjoy the ride.
  19. @Peter Thornley a Pies community welcome to your good self. Enjoy the comradery of the growing ensemble.
  20. Welcome to the mad house of Pies fans @Daisy-Mae great to have you on board.
  21. The Alfreton Town game sounded like a good workout for all participants. I thought Martins after match interview was positive and straight to the point, giving praise where it was warranted and pulling no punches on our areas for improvement. I hope that whilst we are out in Germany this theme continues and our qualities, both attacking and defending with a pinch of match craft improve as needed. So much to look forward to for the new season looming.
  22. Slowly but surely I can see a team being assembled to aim for the top. Everything seems to be taking on a more positive vibe and just like a jigsaw falling into place. The more attack minded we are, the less time we spend in our own half. Different playmakers are surely going to make us a better team and harder to play against. The number one target now has to be a good number one 👌. My late father would say a Lev Yashin type would fit the bill, who knows where the future will take us. Keep your faith in all the club are doing as their best should be our best. 🫡
  23. Welcome on board @The Anti-Clough nice to be adding to the flock. 😎
  24. Rewind and Renew Now Stuart's gone what are we to do, We have to pull together and get a new crew. Bye bye Didsey you deserved alot more, Before disappearing out the contract door. Alex goes a floundering off to 'Pompey' Good deal or bad, what would you say. In comes Martin our new Head Coach, A difficult job, how will he approach. Followed by Andy the new number two, Fresh from the England camp with plenty to do. New additions trickle into the squad, One a loanee, the rest not costing a Wad. In this division there's nowhere to hide, Play hard with quality to keep the pride. The season beckons and in August we start, Fans feelings ramping skyward, falling apart. Like Thespians of old on opening night, Remember your lines, don't give us a fright. "WE" are all one Team at the end of the day, Proud of Notts County, what more can we say.
  25. PON is a place that opens its arms to all and when you need a little uplifting, want to share a few words, join a meaningful conversation and maybe a quiz or number game, this is the place to come. All you participants, without your subjects, replies and encouragement, where would we be. The wonderful people who selflessly give their time and make PON what it is, deserve our praise and thanks. Keep up the good work. COYP.
