  1. Freddie using the Melon to predict this week, the stripes have it, the stripes have it. This lad is on fire 🔥 Norwich City 3 v 0 Preston North End Stoke City 1 v 2 Watford Doncaster Rovers 1 v 1 Blackpool Northampton Town 2 v 2 Burton Albion Crewe Alexandra 1 v 2 Walsall Shrewsbury Town 0 v 1 Cheltenham Town Boston United 2 v 1 Yeovil Town Southend United 1v 2 Forest Green Rovers Please accept the predictions of Freddie the remarkable Ferret, and me of course.
  2. Nice one @Fan of Big Tone that's good to hear, I hope you and Mrs T manage the challenge. Walking is something that I enjoy especially with Mrs P and the dogs, when we get chance. Back to work today after another bout of stomach upset, good diet though as I lost 24 pounds (not money) in 9 days. Have a great day whatever you are up to.
  3. I have to agree with @Robbie and @Piethagoram two absolute beautiful class moments that wouldn't be out of place in any top flight game anywhere in the world, to be honest. A game that lacked spark and endeavour from both sides needed that uplift of something special, and boy did we get it. I thought Platt was once again at his best, with interceptions and skillful positioning, keeping the Walsall forwards at bay. He would of received my vote if it wasn't for the class of Norburn. ⚽️🎉🥇
  4. Yes @Fan of Big Tone the old English sayings are definitely ones to listen to. There was a reason behind each and every one. "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb" March often begins with rough winter weather and ends more gently. There is some truth here. In Britain the jet stream often still drives strong storms in early March, while by late March spring air masses start to dominate, bringing calmer conditions. Thought you might like this one to go with your contribution 😀
  5. What a beautiful view @Fan of Big Tone makes you want to walk through the fields, taking in the lovely weather and wildlife. Not so good this morning, damp and dreary in the midshires and the temperature is significantly lower than yesterday, still not to worry as it apparently changes again for the weekend 😀 Have a good day everyone 👍
  6. I have to agree with @theAnticlough the sight of Jatta on the teamsheet and possibly Palmer would be such an uplifting sight and a fright to the opposition. The icing on the cake for me would be Norburn being available, either to start or on the bench. He has played a significant part in everything football until injury sidelined him. Yes @Robbie the trio mentioned above have had a massive influence for us and we have stuttered without their presence. Keep things tight at the back, fluid through the middle, good use of our flanks and producing first class finishing will do the job on Saturday. Another contender for me would be Macdonald, as he was playing sublime football and looked our best defender before he was injured. All in all plenty to look forward to, and some great performances to be had. COYP
  7. Come on Freddie, time to do your thing. Charlton Athletic 0 v 1 Birmingham City Swansea City 2 v 1 Stoke City Blackpool 2 v 1 Wigan Athletic Luton Town 1 v 1 Reading Gillingham 2 v 0 Fleetwood Town Tranmere Rovers 3 v 1 Oldham Athletic Hartlepool United 2 v 1 Halifax Town Woking 1 v 1 Tamworth These results are predicted and verified by Freddie the Ferret, Long live Freddie.
  8. What you do on here for everyone is really much appreciated @Chris and it is so good to see you back and doing your thing. Thank you 😊
  9. Looks like me and you better get our boots back out @Fan of Big Tone and give to the cause. 🤣⚽️
  10. @Chris it's only your body trying to protect and heal, always do what it needs and you will be fine. On the other hand it could just be old age and poverty. 🗣👨‍🦯 😉 Nice looking food @Piethagoram hope you enjoyed it? Easy mistake to make @Fan of Big Tone especially if rushing to cut up the old one so you don't make the wrong choice. We're glasses used for this venture or just trusting to luck? I have a sequence that I use to avoid a mixup. New card left in envelope until identified old card is chopped up, once done the envelope is opened and New Card revealed, registered and signed, simples. Hope this helps for the future. 💳 👍 Have a lovely Tuesday one and all.
  11. You get officials like yesterday and players that dramatically throw themselves down making a squealing noise that con said officials, we don't stand a cat in hells chance. Perhaps one of our training sessions should be conducted at theatre school. 🎭
  12. Happy Birthday @super_ram have yourself a fantastic day. May your wishes come true, with wins for two. COYP COYR 🥳⚽
  13. Match day morning and still more rain, mind you the sun will shine me thinks after a good result today. Busy day today as Mrs P is taking our Isabella to the Theatre Royal to see Bluey. So I assume the position of Chauffeur extraordinaire, delivering my passengers to Hucknall tram stop for 12:00 where they will board the tram, alighting at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham. I will then proceed to park up at London Road Fire Station and make my way to the Nest, participating of food and beverage whilst watching the early kick off on the big screen. Once Bluey has finished Mrs P and Isabella will jump on the tram alighting at the train station then making their way to Meadow Lane to meet up with said Chauffeur 😀 happy days. Have a great weekend on and all. ⚽️
  14. If the boys have fun and enjoy the task in front of them as they did against Tranmere we will win, if they get nervous and tight things could turn into a nightmare. My feelings are we have set several precedences over the previous few weeks which to me give us the advantage for a comfortable win, not without hard work though. COYP.
  15. Dreary damp day today, that fine rain that really wets you rather quickly. Unfortunately morbidity is part of life @Fan of Big Tone and i find good memories made with said person gives a sense of happiness and satisfaction. My other half has been having a go of late because whilst being ill over these last few weeks I have allowed my hair plus beard to grow out of all proportion for me and she says that I look like a Yeti/Goat. So today I decided to get it cut and trimmed, guess what she never even noticed. 😧🐐
  16. Freddie is ready and raring to go ⚽ Oxford United 1 v 2 West Bromwich Albion QPR 0 v 2 Sheffield United Mansfield Town 2 v 1 AFC Wimbledon Stevenage 0 v 2 Stockport County Barnet 1 v 2 Chesterfield Colchester United 0 v 2 Salford City Brackley Town 1 v 1 Altrincham Truro City 1 v 2 Braintree Town All done and dusted for another week thanks to Freddie the foretelling ferret. 🤠
  17. @Chris it's great to see you back in full flow and good to hear that for now your pain has subsided. Keep up the belief and stay positive my friend. @Fan of Big Tone unfortunately that's life, we try to accept decisions that counteract our desires, but sometimes it hurts and leaves that empty space needing to be filled. A good friend and colleague of mine decided that when he passed he didn't want a funeral and paid for a cremation only, leaving family, friends and work colleagues without that focul point to say goodbye and lay him to rest so to speak. Sometimes these decisions are hard to accept, but we must respect the final decision, and in our own way say our goodbye our way.
  18. Im glad everything went alright with the lung CT @Fan of Big Tone and once the results are in you can chill with the 40 pints of home brew, well planned strategy that 😉 🍺 Fires are not the best thing to start the working week with @theAnticlough especially if you are tipped out in the middle of the night, good to hear no one was hurt. I understand the mayhem as for 31years I used to respond to such incidents, not nice. I can sympathise with losing sleep, as all you do for that day is walk round in a trance, or so it seems. These things just show you how fragile life is and how we must make every single second count. Back to work for me again this morning, and what a lovely fresh morning it was. Im not counting down but 4 weeks and 4 days to go and the freedom of retirement will wrap itself around me like a comfort blanket and take me forwards into an unknown future, can't wait. 🤔 Live long and prosper one and all. 🖖
  19. Consolidation is the key word, work both on and off the pitch is a real necessity to position ourselves in a viable workstream giving foundations to build momentum from season to season. Slowly, slowly catchee monkey. Have faith in the brothers by backing the club as a whole. EFL 1 to start me thinks. ⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
  20. It looked like a different team from Tuesday evening, although their chips (not the potato variety)had been returned and all was back to normality. What a superb performance albeit against poor opposition. It was pleasing to see that when we had the ball the movement was brilliant and whoever had the ball had so many options. Up to going off Norburn was running the show, and when Grant replaced him, he had one of the best games I've seen this season. I thought Tsaroulla and Macari gelled perfectly as though they were reading each others minds and creating so much down their RHS. Iorpenda looked back to his stupendous self, pressuring and giving no quarter. All in all a fantastic performance 👏
  21. I totally agree @theAnticlough the bond between Lewis and Nick has developed really well over the last couple of months, they seem to have a telepathic understanding and awareness of where each other is and what to do to progress the football. Until injury Norburn was running the show with sublime touches and the guile to open up space for his team mates, and when Grant replaced him, he had a great game. I think every player gave their all for the team yesterday and left everything out there, fantastic result. Bring on Grimsby next week, I can't wait. COYP ⚽
  22. What a lovely morning it is today. I hope that you had that pint yesterday evening @Fan of Big Tone to celebrate such an emphatic win. A totally different team performance from Tuesday evening 👏
  23. What a lovely fresh and inspiring day today, as @Fan of Big Tone says, looking forward to being able to watch live for the first time in weeks (feels like forever) due to illness. Me and my boy (not so much a boy at 44) will be attending, hoping for an exhilarating performance from our team after Tuesday's disappointment. Hope you all enjoy the game and the boys do us proud. You will enjoy your pint @Fan of Big Tone I'm sure. 🍺🥳
  24. Freddie is back and full of enthusiasm for the games after his boating exploits. A Norwich City 2 v 1 Birmingham City Wrexham 1 v 1 Ipswich Town Northampton Town 2 v 0 Leyton Orient Peterborough United 3 v 1 Exeter City 🃏 Colchester United 2 v 0 Barnet Gillingham 1 v 0 Oldham Athletic Boreham Wood 1 v 2 Forest Green Rovers Solihull Moors 2 v 2 Hartlepool United Here be the entries for this week's gladatorial exchanges from a revived and cool Freddie 😎
  25. Absolutely clueless, no idea and once again no plan B.
