  1. Stuart deserves to move on to another management role. He did right by us and always believed in the team. Wish you all the best for now and the future.
  2. An absolute tragedy for the family, friends and all those who knew and loved him. Football itself has lost a class act. RIP both.
  3. Guess where I have been this morning? THROUGH OUR EYES ONLY. Oh! What a lovely big open space, One where we can run round at a pace. Released, all at once freedom calls, The only boundaries are surrounding walls. Forwards and backwards, zig zag to and fro, Not knowing really where we want to go. Sniffing the crisp fresh morning air, Different scents appearing from we know not where. Cocking a leg, our scent to leave, Side to side and up and down we weave. We will only deposit on OUR choice of grass, The right shade, right length that's all we ask. All finished and happy now the time is right, Run like the wind with all your might. Chasing each other all over the place, Tumbling, rolling, in each others face. "Got you" tagged, now your it, Away i race with a hop and a skip. Once you're caught we'll do it again, My turn on now with no refrain. "Marty, Scooby" we hear our name, "Time to go home" what a shame. Grateful both of time spent with dad, Cos after all he's not a bad lad.
  4. Thank you @Fan of Big Tone love life and live long my friend.
  5. Lovely fresh breeze this morning, a little bit of rain helping keep the heat at bay. Looking out into the beautiful countryside and listening to nature as it marks the beginning of another cherished day in Nottinghamshire. A light breeze is meandering through the leaves sounding like they are whispering to one and all. How fortunate are we being able to witness this underestimated beauty each and every day. Gives the positive and helps us appreciate what we have. Be thoughtful, kind and considerate as unfortunately it doesn't last long.
  6. With the pre season looming (4 days away) are we prepared? No replacement goalkeeper, and only a week back on the training ground. Let's see what happens over the next week or two 🤔 These men and boys who make up our squad do not and will not go out onto the pitch, whoever they play, to fail. Our support from this time on all the way to the end of the season is paramount as WE ARE THE 12th MAN. So let's all stay positive and get behind our beloved team COYP. ❤️
  7. All the best for the future Alex I wish you well. Calamity once again at Meadow Lane. One day the top table will learn you cannot polish a turd !!!
  8. Ditto 😉 Thought i was losing me marbles again.
  9. Martin Paterson, will he be the saviour of the Pies or the creator of our demise??? Personally I think he deserves all loyal fans getting behind him 100%. Welcoming him and his team with Notts County's open arms. He has a difficult enough job to do without all of us on his and the teams back's. Let us judge by the long term not the short fuse.
  10. I think last seasons Newcastle home shirt with the v neck is a class act, place John pye in the middle where SELA is, badge top left, jobs a good un.
  11. Welcome @Sheffield Pie lock and load and grip the moment.
  12. Hiya @Alanunderwood come on in and take a seat, buckle up and enjoy the ride.
  13. There are many wonderous films out at the moment, the new Mission Impossible the final reckoning with the evergreen Tom Cruise. The new Jurassic Park one if you like dinosaurs. How to train your dragon if you have one? Salt Path, a true story of how a life can be lost and recovered. If you are into horror/Thriller 28 years later is for you. That's all from film 24/7 the MDPie franchise. 😎
  14. Through all the aspersions, ifs, buts and maybes we must remember. What comes easy won't last, what lasts won't come easy.
  15. I always loved playing against John in the then Notts Thursday League, you could only just get a *** paper under his feet when he jumped for the ball, hence I beat him every time (6' 7" v 6' and half an inch). Good luck in all you do big lad, it was a pleasure to play on the same pitch.
  16. Patience is a virtue. Only time will tell. You can't reach for anything new if your hands are full of yesterday's clutter.
  17. Absolutely agree. The closed season is such a gap, so I tried audiobooks, and what a gem, 'The Let Them Theory' by Mel Robbins, has filled time and given me a new purpose in life. I think all the staff, including players, should give it their ears. Reason, belief, motivation, what more could you want. Coupled up with British Superbikes, that's me for the summer months. COYP.
  18. Looking a positive start to a very critical time for us. What happens during the transfer windows will shape and show our intent for the forthcoming season. The most important decision though has to be choice of manager.
  19. Defensively we have improved leaps and bounds. The team has belief throughout and that really makes for the intake of Stuarts game plans and football philosophy. They run and play for each other, which in turn works well in both attack and defensively. Also having a squad capable of covering each other breeds confidence and maintains healthy competition. Long may it last. COYP.
  20. A warm welcome to @BeestonPie Hope you enjoy the site ????
  21. We need to stay positive and rally behind our team and manager. The lack of point gathering of late is disappointing to say the least, but remember where we have come from and the blood sweat and tears shed both on and off the pitch. The whole family at Notts County need to be encouraged and applauded for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. Our team may be underperforming at the moment but with a little encouragement and positivity we will return to the good times soon enough.
  22. Looking at our dismal away performances of late I think like you all we need to adopt an away strategy along with a plan 'b' which is something that is never implemented because there is no plan 'b'. Although we have stepped up to a league where some players are out of their comfort zone, realising and doing something about it is another matter. The January window now offers us a chance to rectify that and bulk up the squad. Again I agree that if we thought at this juncture of the season we'd be in a playoff position last year, no problem we would of jumped at it. COYP
  23. After all Luke and his team have achieved at this club, don't think he is finished with the project just yet. Too many boxes haven't been ticked as Luke himself admitted a couple of weeks ago. His love of the Fans, the Club and the relationship between him and the brothers says no go to me.
  24. Dan the man is becoming an icon so early in the season, coming to terms and building on his game with ease with the help of our fantastic backroom staff, other players and our superb manager. Long may it continue.
  25. A win always will give confidence and it was the way we turned things around after that prolific volley from Mr Bostock. The positive feel around the Lane fed back to the players and hey presto they battled for the win right to the very end. I don't know about anyone else but the feeling was we have got this. Even Luke said he had got his team back. Tonight will be another test and I think the boys will rise to the occasion, COYP.
