Weekly Chat - Monday 25th to Sunday 31st August
A lovely weekend had with our two young granddaughters in Mablethorpe, not a raindrop in sight and a climax of pure blue sky yesterday. I also have had varifocals for the last few years and as @Robbie says, they don't take too long to get used to, and once that takes place you don't realise when wearing them and they become part of you. So @Fan of Big Tone dive in with open eyes. Back to work today (only for 4 days though) soon be the weekend. Then 5 days until Dubai for an 11 night break, can't wait. Will have to get a move on after the Fleetwood game to get to Heathrow Airport though and bed down for the night. Have a good day everyone. 😀

Weekly Chat - Monday 18th to Sunday 24th August
All the best with the job interview @CliftonMagpie routine is something we can't do without. It's instilled into us from day one, for me it's an important part of my life, couldn't function without it. Having routine really helps where mental health is concerned also, easing day to day woes and worries. That is one reason I am still working at 68, it gives me a purpose which in turn schedules the day in advance making everything routine.

Match Discussion: League Two - Shrewsbury Town (A)
As they say, you can only play the team that's in front of you. Last evening I think everyone was apprehensive regarding playing the Shrews. But have no fear we did what we had to do and allayed all our fears. I think we are now starting to see results that Martin is striving for, the fitness, players gelling with each other and the football getting close to the Notts County we know and love. Do not be mislead though it was far from perfect but definitely looking better. I think that Bromley will give a more accurate idea of where we are at this moment in time. Well done everyone for getting our chins off the floor and cheering voices up a notch. COYP.

Weekly Chat - Monday 11th to Sunday 17th August
Woke up this morning and looked out over the sea, it seemed so calm, as though all was at ease with the world. Hope is not always fulfilled I'm afraid to say, but for that minute it worked. Took my lovely wife to see one of her favourite singers yesterday evening, Friday. She totally emersed herself in the vocals of Olly Murs for 90 minutes. It's nice down here on the south coast, Sunny Margate is giving us the most.

Weekly Chat - Monday 11th to Sunday 17th August
Thursday, and what a beautiful, gentle morning it is this morning. The suns rays carefully caressing all as it meanders it's way through leaves and branches of the surrounding trees. A lovely light breeze carrying the cool of the day intermingled with the cacophony of early morning birdsong, what a great privilege to be alive and have the ability to hear, feel and smell one and all.

EFL Cup 1st Round: Match Discussion: The Latics (A)
This was a game of two halves as they say, and in the first half we just went through the motions or so it seemed. I think it proved that Jodi is no number 10 and needs to get back to the position where he is devastating and can be more productive. As for most of the second half and after the 3 substitutions we played alot better, which has to be a positive moving forward. MP the onus is now on you, your players and your team of backroom staff to keep the momentum going into Saturdays game against Barrow. COYP.

🤔 totally confused. Think i must be thick. Sorry Chris.

Who's your Man of the Match v Salford?
I think all today's players need to have a good look at themselves and ask the question, did I leave all on the pitch today and therefore was i proud representing my club and the fans that turned out to watch a very poor performance. I know and understand it was our first league game at home this new season and that could and would make players nervous, but not for the whole match. Martin it's time for some tough love and putting one or two or maybe more players in the know regarding the fact of who they are playing for and the standard required.

Weekly Chat - Monday 4th to Sunday 10th August
What a beautiful morning here in the midshires, the sun is shining and we have a little breeze keeping all cool at the moment. At work again for the 5th day and still no vehicle so I can do my job?? Looks like another day in the office couped up and restricted. Although the nice walk home should compensate for that. Managed to get out for some lovely food last evening with Mrs P and number 2 son. I had Sweet potato, Leek and Cheddar cheese pie (cheese, onion and potato pie really) just poshed it up a little. I haven't had that since I was 10 years old and my Mum used to make it at least once a week and we had it with baked beans, happy days. 😃

Roberto Gagliardi interview
What a good positive interview, filled with enough information to show that he is a genuine guy with a hunger for knowledge and a great understanding of what is needed to bring success to the club. He talks well and obviously has the backing of the brothers. All in all an interesting interview, both allowing us to meet and hear his message and hopefully understand his position and attributes.

The Jatta Paradox
There is no one bigger than the Club, and although Jatta is a reasonable goal scorer, he's not the problem. Greedy agents are nowadays ruining football and that is a crying shame. Surely the Club has realised the situation and have something in place to counteract that possibility. 🙏 Let's hope that over the next 4 games either someone steps up to the plate or is brought in to remedy our attacking deficiencies. ⚽️ 👌🤔

Who's your Man of the Match against Newport?
For me Matt Palmer gave a very good performance and never stopped. He made himself available all the time, his distribution was positive and work ethics second to none. Jacob Beddau impressed also with his attitude, running and willingness to retrieve the ball all over the pitch. Good point for the Pies.

Game 1: Match Discussion, The Exiles (A)
First of all my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the Notts fan taken ill before the match. As for the game, I am sure that every individual on that pitch gave their all and we should have been at least 2-0 up by half time, the unfortunate thing is you don't get points for near misses, saves and hitting the woodwork. I agree with @Fan of Big Tone Matty Platt was fouled prior to them scoring, which to me highlights the standard of refereeing once again. Over the whole game i thought that several players played well, but one or two were still bedding in and that will come with time. Overall I think we have a team and manager that will do well this season. COYP.

Good morning one and all, Looking good here in the midshires. Match day number one for our beloved team, expectations are high as we go head to head with Newport County. Langstaff hat trick
If Macca requires a loan team to go to, I can think of one right away. Someone who is without their main striker for a few games. Bring it on 😀 ⚽ Glad to see he still has the positive mentality to get goals, whoever the opposition are, mind you he always was a natural.
