Notts County boss John Sheridan says he is looking to shake things up in the squad by recruiting players in the January transfer window and also moving some on.
The Magpies, eighth in League Two but suffering from inconsistency, is aiming to bring up to three players in to help their promotion bid.
"I started thinking about the window two or three weeks ago," Sheridan told the Nottingham Post.
"I definitely feel that, if I have to move players on, then I would like to bring two or three in.
"We are having players watched and in the positions I think we need to strengthen.
"I want us to be in the mix when the window opens and if I can get two or even three in then great.
"But I understand I have to move people on and it would benefit all parties."
