Alan Hardy has revealed that Notts County are plotting a "marquee signing" in January.
The transfer window will open at the start of next month, leading to speculation as to who the Magpies will seek to recruit in a bid to remain in the League Two promotion hunt.
Although Notts are "in a really good place" at present and Kevin Nolan has faith in his current squad, the chairman gave an update about two enquiries being rejected so far and
βWe are in a really good place and the gaffer is not in a mad rush to make signings,β Hardy told the Nottingham Post.
βHe is convinced that, with the squad we have got, it is good enough to get promoted.
βHowever, we are looking for that one special player and he has to be able to come straight into the first team.
βWe have made two enquiries this week and both of those were rejected. We wonβt be going back in for them. The door has been closed and we move on.
βIf that marquee signing does come off then it will be very late in the window.β
