Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has apologised for headbutting Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross.

The pair clashed in the second half of the sides' 1-1 draw but referee Mark Halsey missed the incident.

"I apologise completely to Ryan Shawcross, my team-mates and to our fans at the game. I lost my temper and it was unprofessional," said Fellaini.

Crazy, I heard about this but it wasn't until my dad asked me earlier if I had seen it that I knew exactly what happened. How can a player who's professional carry out this type of behaviour throughout a game? I can't find any videos that show him doing it repeatedly, although I have heard from a few people that it was mutiple times.

if the camera didnt zoom in, it would of looked normal, like an accident. at least it wasnt a broken leg ryan! with the padding on his head, i would safely bet that it would not hurt much at all.

both are as bad as each other.

Quickly apologised which goes a long way towards reclaiming his credit, plus a good level of professionalism in the end. I still don't see why he allowed his frustration to become the better of him but it'll rest now. He's not going to replace Joey Barton after all :ph34r:

He should not have reacted the way he did but I can understand his frustration.Every week the TV cameras pick up on holding, shirt pulling etc in the penalty area especially from corner kicks and set pieces. It,s very difficult for the referee to spot everything that,s going on but they seem to allow this to continue.Surely if someone is being held it is a penalty. With a little common sense and the help of the linesmen the problem should soon be solved. It,s often 50-50 between defenders and attackers.A word from the ref to all players is all that,s needed. If it continues book the offenders. Common sense!!!

I agree to a point Super Ram but the referee needs to make sure he's keeping an eye out, this incident would of been hard to notice but when the player had gone down surely he should of noticed?

The diving, unprofessional acts is something the FA and people in charge should be cutting out.

Joe the videos been removed you may want to update it pal
