A great start to the year just as he ended 2023, Draper will face Czech Jiri Lehecka in his second successive ATP final, having ended 2023 as runner-up to Adrian Mannarino at the Sofia Open.

Joe Salisbury & his partner Rajeev Ram reach the Adelaide Doubles final with a fine win.

This is another area I need to educate myself on, as I don't know many tennis players, but I do like to watch it. It would be nice if we had more than Andy Murray competing for grand slams, but we put way too much pressure on talent. Emma Raducanu is a prime example of this.

I'm also pleased to see the tweet about Alfie Hewett.

Someone can correct me, but I believe it was Alfie who did that powerful video about treating him the same and not criticising disabled athletes for being boring.

Australian Open 2024: Emma Raducanu, Katie Boulter, Jack Draper & Cameron Norrie play

It’s great to see Emma Raducanu back in action at the Australian Open. After her surgeries, it’s encouraging to hear that she feels comfortable and trusts her body.

Andy had a big hip problem at the end of 2016 and it got worse in 2017. He had two operations the last one being resurfacing of his hip. Normally this would have been career ending, but Andy proved them all wrong. His comeback has been fraught with setbacks but he managed to get back up to the middle forties in the rankings, but he is slower than at his peak and this has not helped him. I think he'll retire after Wimbledon this year.

Brit watch summing up the day.

Cameron Norrie won his 2nd round match to advance to the 3rd round, however, Katie Boulter, Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu lost their 2nd round matches today leaving Norrie the only Brit left in the Singles.

So Cam Norrie is the last Brit in the Singles draw. He plays 12th seed Ruud in the 3rd round. It will be a tough match for Cam as his recent form hasn't been good and he's already had two tough matches to contend with to get this far

I believe the best chance for Brit success will come in the men's Doubles  with Salisbury and Ram who won the title in 2020.

Will continue to keep you up to date with Brit results.
