Based on yesterday's performance, I believe we need to focus on putting the ball into areas where we can take shots. Instead of trying to walk the ball into the net, I found Notts to be quite unimpressive, and I think Harrogate will aim to defend tightly and block our attempts. At this point, it’s clear how much Jodi Jones is thinking about how to adapt to the opposition, yet no one seems to be doing the same. We can isolate Jatta and expect him to take chances, but yesterday he rarely had more than two players near him. No one tried to create space, draw a defender away, or open up opportunities for others. This is something we really need to start doing.

We have to get Crowley further up the pitch to open up defences

We play too defensively half the time. We need to try to push further up the field and make use of our creative players to create more chances.

I hope we opt for a more settled back three. I would also like to see Jatta and David McGoldrick start in the lineup.

Reading the Comments of other PON Members in this Section. Aren't You All Fed Up Of Continuingly Repeating Yourselves? None of Us are Professional Coaches But We All Can See Where the Magpies are Going Wrong and We continue to Ask Why The Hell Can't Stuart Maynard?

The Answer to That maybe look at the Magpies Current League Position, despite the Fact in some Games this Season Where Notts have Ridden Their Luck, the Dice seem to have Fallen in the Magpies Favour. They shouldn't have gotten a Point at either Chesterfield or last night at Barrow, but somehow they Did and as long as Notts Keep getting these points or Sneaking a Win, expect more of the Same Playing Wise. It seemed that Maynard had begun to Mix things up at the Start of the Season and it paid off Handsomely, but for some Strange reason the Notts Head Coach seems to be Going Back To His Old Bad Habits, so what is it going to take him to Switch Back? Have Notts Got To End Up Getting a Right  Good Old Fashion Thumping or losing Matches on a Regular basis? When the Fans start getting on Maynard's Back  Again?

Regarding the Harrogate Match, I Think Another Boring Draw or Perhaps Notts Might Just Scrape a Win.

At this particular time. I don't care how Notts get a result. I just want a positive result by any means available.

It doesn't have to be pretty or cultured or attractive. I just want Notts to be mean at the back, strong & physical in midfield & take their chances up front when they become available.

We have to remember we had seven players unavailable for the Barrow match, including our best player & several important squad members, who would have started the match if they'd been fit.

Notts just have grind out results if necessary & the pretty football can go on the back burner for now, & get to the end of the year in touch with the leaders.

Stop the opposition scoring & you only have to score one to win. That's what Notts should be aiming for at this time..

Aim to win at home, try to be undefeated away & get the odd win. That's a good recipe for success

Isn't Tippy Tappy Football Supposed to Be Attractive and Pretty Football? And it's what Notts seem to be Drifting back into, the Only Good Thing this season is the Magpies Defense is Much Much Better and Notts are getting a Huge Rub of the Green. Lets hope Lady Luck Continues to Smile on the Boys in the Black & White Stripes.

The important games are coming thick and fast for Notts at the moment. The game on Saturday against Harrogate will be another tough one for Notts to navigate.

Key areas will be our defence, midfield & upfront once again. The injury situation is unclear & Maynard didn't really mention it in his press conference.

If the players who recently picked up knocks against Wimbledon are now available, this would be my team for Saturday's match.

Bass

Macari, Platt, Bedeau

Gordon,Abbott,Palmer,Tsaroulla,

Austin, Crowley, Jatta

Subs. McDonald, Slocombe, Martin,Brown, Robertson McGoldrick, Reynolds

Just one striker tomorrow to begin with.

I've put Didzy on the bench but if he's not needed I'd rest him.

Notts need to be up for it from the start. We can't afford to keep conceding early goals

My Score. 2:0 Notts.

Harrogate is a place I'd like to visit. Anyway back to the football.....

Harrogate have scored 11 goals in 15 games. They have conceded 18. This is a game Notts should be winning but I think it will be tighter than expected. Port Vale had to battle hard to beat them last Tuesday, that was at Harrogate though. We have to win these games at home. That's the harsh reality of it. I think we will. 1-0 win.

Yep, following on from @Dripsey3's info, Harrogate have only won 1 game away this season at that was a 1-0 win at Colchester (who aren't very good), they've drawn 3 and lost 2. And they've had a pretty easy set of away games up until now too as the only decent away team they've played is Crewe (3-0 loss), the rest were teams in the bottom 8 of the table!

Can't go into it thinking it's an easy game, even though on paper it is, because that's when things tend to go horribly wrong. We are pretty good at batting off these mid to lower league teams though so I'd be disappointed it we didn't win because even with or mini-injury crisis we are still have enough quality to get a good result.

I'm hoping to see us more on point and fluent in attack like in our earlier home games this season.

Team News

Crowley misses out with a minor groin issue.

A bench full of defenders, but young Cisse on the bench

Very interesting lineup for sure. McGoldrick will have an even bigger role in possession now as Crowley misses out.

This is the game where Brown gets his first Notts goal.

Half Time.

A dominant Notts performance in the first half, but no goals to show for it.
