October 26, 2024Oct 26 #26 A VITAL WIN FOR NOTTS Dave Bracegirdle: "Notts have had all the chances in the world, but they did get one of them" Mark Stallard: "Stuart Maynard will be delighted with that. Back to back clean sheets at home
October 26, 2024Oct 26 #27 A consecutive clean sheet for Notts at home. Notts had loads of chances in both halves, but they got the one goal that mattered by Alassana Jatta with a Nick Tsaroulla assist. Notts were without their main playmaker today, Dan Crowley, but all the Notts players did a great job today. What a difference between last season & this. Notts are so solid in defence, & when you are that solid you only need one goal. Over 24 attempts on goal today for Notts against 5 by Harrogate & just remember, seven players out injured & 3 games in 7 days. The clean sheets are mounting up. Long may it continue. And one more thing. The Inverted Wingbacks are working.
October 26, 2024Oct 26 #28 Excellent result, another clean sheet but it sounds like we could have had more goals.
October 26, 2024Oct 26 #31 Given the injuries, this was a great 3 points. Notts dominated but Harrogate were dogged. They are a difficult side to beat.
October 26, 2024Oct 26 #32 Think 1-0 flattered them a bit, we’ve created fewer chances than that this season and scored more! The performance was very good though, pretty much total dominance. We started the game much better than we have recent games and the tempo was good too, Brown and McGoldrick were dropping into the pockets of spaces and helping us create some decent openings. The goal felt inevitable and it was excellent play from Tsaroulla and Bedeau who dragged a defender out of position for Jatta's winner. Everytime Harrogate cleared the ball or tried to break our defenders were excellent in getting there first more often than not, they didn’t exactly have much box defending to do but they pretty much made Bass a spectator for that game. I felt a bit sorry for those Harrogate fans, they had nothing to get excited about all game a bit of a wasted journey and sadly their team take the unfortunate prize of being the worst team to visit Meadow Lane this season (so far). Funny how in 2020 Harrogate deservedly beat us in that final and looked to be going on up to better things, now 4 years later the roles have reversed.
October 28, 2024Oct 28 #44 It was great to see us play in a way that allowed Notts to create good chances. The only real difference was the excellent saves from James Belshaw. I thought we could have scored more, but the performance was what we needed, and the result showed that.
October 28, 2024Oct 28 #45 Belshaw was Harrogate's best player, by a mile. I wonder if he'll have any regrets about not getting to ever play for us though as I'm 99% sure he also supports us! At 34 and with Bass looking like he could be our No.1 for a good few seasons now I think the chance might have just passed him.
October 29, 2024Oct 29 #46 @menzinhoBelshaw's dad is a Notts season ticket holder. Bass with Belshaw as back up would be ideal. Sorry Sam, your time is up
