I Know a Vast Majority of the PON Membership is Male and my Question May Not Be Considered Manly? No that is Probably the Wrong Word. Perhaps the Male Members on here may Not Want to Answer it. But I'm Going To Ask It Anyway.

What Gives You Goosebumps or Makes you Emotional? It May be a Piece of Music, a Certain Action, The Climax of a Film or TV Program and Of Course I Also Invite the Ladies On PON To Express their Opinions on this Topic. Here's Mine.Β

Luciano Pavarotti Singing Nessun Dorma . And I Hate Opera but that Song sang by the Maestro Well that's totally different.

The Liverpool Kop Singing You'll Never Walk Alone.

The Playing of the Last Post.

The All Blacks Performing the Hakka.

The Final Scene of Black Adder Goes Fourth, where they Go Over The Top and the Scene Fades Into a Field Of Poppies.

That's all I can Think of at the Moment. There Maybe More.Β  Now It's Your Turn, Come On Don't Be Shy.

Comparing how I felt when Notts were relegated to the National League and how we won promotion at Wembley triggers me in different ways. Sometimes music can make me emotional. It depends on the song.

I think anything connected to a sad period of time, like losing a family member, brings back memories.

I get goosebumps when I hear Land of Hope & Glory. Rule BritanniaΒ Jerusalem, the National Anthem, &Β The Last Post.

As for getting emotional.

One of the best endings of a film. Ben Hur. That last scene is awesome when Ben Hur discovers his mother & sister are cured from the Leprosy.

And the final scene from Saving Private Ryan, when Tom Hank's Captain Miller dying words to Private Ryan, "Earn This, earn it"

And LIstening to Handel's MessiahΒ

I especially feel this way about documentaries that feature real people, particularly those facing hardship.Β

On the other hand, charity adverts are something I can't stand. They can be quite moving, but I believe the money donated could be better spent elsewhere.

For me personally, the song Lanternlight by Nightwish. It's about the people we lose and how they remain with us after they've gone. I find it difficult to listen to, but it resonates so much.

On this day in particular, I think of everyone who has experienced war, their fear and loss. I feel it especially when I can imagine myself in their shoes, when I'm standing where they've stood.

And last but not least, when I've paid for my groceries at the supermarket and am presented with the bill...

Another great ending of a film was the in the last scene of "Gone with the Wind" when Rhett Butler leaves Scarlet O'Hara by saying to her.Β  "Frankly dear, I don't give a damn"
