While I can't imagine that Klopp is a referees' favourite, you still have to be careful and professional in your public statements. Anything that indicates that a referee has taken a dislike towards a particular team is a no-no and completely unprofessional.

Disappointing that this has surfaced, obviously somebody thought it would be funny to release it and just goes to show that if anything is being pointed at you, be very careful with what you say!

I always liked David, he’s a local lad who used to run the line for the Wheatsheaf in Southwell as young kid, whilst his uncle Mick was manager at the time. He’s a pretty good cricketer as well, but always wanted to be a ref from memory.

Not sure how this can be resolved though as surely Liverpool would never tolerate him reffing another one of their games and it’s a real shame as most football fans will probably agree entirely with his thoughts.

I heard about this yesterday. Being registered as a Notts fan doesn't really mean much, but I can't see why people can't be professional. The whole thing is stupid, what would the purpose of recording it be? You have to be pretty thick to do it. I have been told he's claiming he was "drunk", he didn't seem very much under the influence Mike Dean should do one too, he'd defend anyone.

well it was a mistake to allow it to be recorded, but it's even worse to say it. does anyone know or has seem anything about how it was leaked? its not good regardless.

All of a sudden I like him a lot better. He needs to be reinstated and officiating Florist matches forthwith.

What's the chance that he actually likes Forest? I think it's quite possible.

Watching the Sky Sports video, I can see why he said what he did, but doing it on video, and he clearly knew it was being recorded is extremely silly. Still, I don't think his decision was biased against disliking Liverpool. Their fans, etc, seem to be trying to make it about that, but it's not. Virgil van Dyke was offside. Jordan Pickford could have been spoken too, but under the rules he committed no foul despite it being a dangerous challenge.

The guy is a fool. His role and the fact that he spoke in a recorded video, criticising someone, is simply not acceptable. All of this could have been dealt with internally. The media are just as guilty for stirring up the drama.
