Winter matches do you enjoy them?

Do you enjoy winter football? The cold can be quite harsh when it's really bad, but there’s something exciting about playing from November to January, especially with Christmas around the corner. I wonder if this will affect our home attendance, so I’d like you to share your thoughts and feelings on this.

i dont mind winter games, so i would not say i dislike this time but once you are mid winter i do look forward to the better weather. the coldness can be a bit much if you dont wrap up. it just tends to mean more games under the floodlights, which i quite like. its just the bitter coldness.

I think that watching your team in the winter months is just part of being a football fan.

When we stood on the terraces I always felt a lot more comfortable & warmer in winter than sitting down.

I tend to feel the cold much more sitting down, even though I'm well wrapped up.

I always loved when the orange (or bright) footballs would come out for winter games.

There's been some very cold past seasons where I have attended, and felt absolutely frozen. It's not as enjoyable, but the focus on watching football tends to get you through it. I remember when we played Mansfield a few seasons ago, where the snow and the density of it made it almost impossible to even see our goalkeeper. Like I said, I don't mind winter games. Summer is a lot more fun, especially with home games, but winter is still part of the parcel of football.

I'd much rather be watching a game when the temperature is 20° and not 2°.

When it's mild over the winter it's ok, but when the frost covers are just being whipped off before the match with the snow is still lingering around the sides of the pitch I don't enjoy it.

I can remember going to an away game years ago, when I was about 15, Shrewsbury v Notts and I was in that "I know better than you" teenage stage. So whilst I did have a coat and hat I wasn't exactly wrapped up because I was adamant it wasn't that cold out... It's quite an open ground at Shrewsbury and there was an icy wind blowing in all game. By the end I was probably just minutes away from becoming an ice sculpture, no idea how I managed to shuffle out the stand. My face, hands and feet were absolutely freezing.

The older I get the more I feel the cold so I’m not a fan of winter.

For me, it depends on the games more than on winter. You can combat the cold by dressing warmly and spending time in places where you can stay warmer. I enjoy watching football throughout the months it's played.

Each period, where the weather changes, offers something different. The only time winter becomes tough is when Notts aren't doing well. That's a true test of support, but I would always be there, even in the worst conditions.

Donkeys years ago, I always recall that PSV Eindhoven had individual heaters for each seat during winter...Why wasn't it raised at the forum last night?

I don't think any football or supporter of a sport enjoys being in the cold.

I think standing generally helps, as it keeps you a bit more active, but that's a bit of an issue at football games. The winter months can be brutally cold. I think you need to suggest what @Piethagoram mentioned. Inquire whether the club will supply individual heaters for the Notts fans.

I don't mind winter games. Supporting a sports team that plays outside is part of it. Last Saturday's game against Newport County is an example of how the cold and the game's outcome can lead to disappointment. It's not about the performance, but sitting in the rainy cold for a goalless draw sums up winter games. You would prefer to see more of an outcome by the end, but that's football for us.
