The Millwall manager Neil Harris will step down from his role after Saturday’s Championship game at Middlesbrough

They’ve come to a “mutual decision” what does that mean? Has he resigned, if so why? Has he been sacked, if so why?

Strange one this. Has he resigned or was he sacked? If he resigned he won't be entitled to severance pay, unless there was a private agreement that he went of his own accord & they still paid out his contract.

Just checked out on Google & his contract was up June 2025, so both club & Neil could have agreed (mutual decision) he goes early & they pay up his contract. So both parties would be happy I suppose.

So the replacement, could it be Mark Robins?

There again, the Millwall style and the players that have been signed don't go well with the Mark Robins style, except of course Macaulay Langstaff.

This is the problem when managers change, they tend to want to change the style of the team too.

I think it's more a Neil Harris decision to leave, rather than him being pushed by the club.

Millwall are very likely to struggle more as the season progresses, Harris has done well to position them away from the drop. It wouldn't surprise me if he sits out management for a bit, then takes up a different club with more ambition. Either that, he wants to find something else to do that doesn't require so much of his time. Could be a simple case of he wants to find more time for his family.

I doubt we'll ever know, unless Harris talks about it.

As for Macaulay Langstaff, I would be on the phone come January to convince Millwall that allowing him to come back to Notts on loan would make a huge difference to when he returns to them. I don't think we'll be able to sign him permanently, not until his contract expires, but a loan is quite possible. With a new manager coming in, he might want to avoid having too many strikers on his book.

They are still being linked to strikers, although I think they need to improve their defence personally.

Wouldn’t that be great, coming back could help him regain confidence and get back his scoring touch, he’d help us and it would benefit Millwall too.

I'd love to see Macca back even if it's just till the end of the season. He would totally transform our front line, & make space for Jodi and Dan to work their things.

With Harris's contract up next summer, I wonder if the club told him they wouldn't be renewing it, and he offered to go earlier?

Having Macca back on loan would be great, but I doubt it will happen. The new manager might be keen to work with him, and if he does go out on loan, I think it's more likely to be in League One.

Knowing our luck he’ll go to Mansfield. :panic:
