Many years since I've travelled this road, however as a boy my parents & I used to visit my Uncle & Aunt & used to travel this road regularly.

Sorry that the road could be closing but not surprised. Safety has to come first, but it's like everything else at the moment. There is no money to repair our infrastructure.

If there's no money to repair the pot holes there won't be any money laid aside for this work.

I don't think it should be closed, but it's a narrow road and there are always people walking on one side, which is dangerous, especially at night or in low-vision conditions. Snake Pass has beautiful scenery, so I hope it stays open for cars to enjoy on their route to wherever.

From the picture, it looks like the area my friend drove in on the way to Carlisle. I can't say for sure, I am not that familiar with the road since I don't personally drive. Yet, it does look like one of the many roads he took, where I found myself gazing out of the window appreciating the scenery. I wonder if they could look at improvements to make it safer during bad conditions, because it would be a shame to see it go due to this.

I have seen more dangerous roads in South American countries than this, so I hope it's not us being OTT and closing just for the sake of it.

if it is dangerous and not a means of cutting corners on repairs, then i get it but i do think alternative safety measures are explored before closing it.
