Notts played very poorly today. There are no other words to describe it.

The positive is that Notts found a way to win despite the poor performance.

A moment of magic by Whittaker & a well taken goal from Jatta proved the difference today.

Today I have included the starting eleven plus two players that came off the bench in the second half for you to choose your PON Man of the Match.

Please make your choice & tell us why you made that choice.

Those players are:-

Bass, Gordon, Bedeau, Platt, Grant, Whitaker, Palmer, Johnson, Jatta, Abbott, Jarvis, Tsaroulla, Traore.

My top four Notts players today are Alex Bass, Jacob Bedeau, Charlie Whitaker & Alassana Jatta.

Special mention to Mai Traore & Nick Tsaroulla for coming on in the 2nd half & making a difference.

Traore finished up with two assists for the Notts goals, so it was an encouraging contribution from Mai. I don't think it will be long before he starts a match.

We had a moment of Quality from Charlie Whittaker for Notts first goal & a poachers goal from Alassana Jatta.

But in my opinion the guy that kept us in the game in the first half was Alex Bass, so he gets my vote as PON Man of the Match

I thought it was great to have Jacob Bedeau back, he was rock solid. However, I voted for Charlie Whitaker as I feel his energy and involvement were impressive. Alex Bass made some very key saves, and it's good to see others voting for him, but I have made my decision.

Alex Bass gets my vote because I thought he was solid and made it hard for Tranmere Rovers to get anything from their chances. Yes, the defence did well with Matty Platt and Jacob Bedeau, but I thought Bass played a major role in the win, especially before we took the lead. Had Tranmere taken the lead, the game could have fizzled into their hands or ended up as a draw. Charlie Whitaker looks class, and I give a shout out to him and Matt Platt.
