anyone else disliking all these early kick offs? its nice at times because you spend the evening doing something else, but then it seems to be more each season. :(

its a good chance for notts to put this poor form behind us and to start something positive, being more clinical on goal would be a big boost. not that i think crewe will be an easy game, far from it but it is one where winning holds more importance the longer our form remains poor. crewe are only just in slightly better form, but notts has to have that fight and winning mentality.

To be honest @liampie I don't understand why the start of the game has to be 12:30 just because it is a live televised match.

Why not start the match at the usual time of 3pm or is it because Sky want fans to tune into their Soccer Saturday?

I found my thoughts returning to our glorious victory at Wembley lately. It's become a happy place when things aren't going so well. Anyway......

Crewe are a decent side. They could easily go on a run and get promoted automatically but I have a sneaking feeling that we'll meet them in the playoffs. We need a win. Not just for the 3 points but to lift the gloom that has descended recently. We have to start winning our home games. Full stop......

Listened to Stuart's pre Crewe presser & he confirmed that Bass will be out for a while, apparently he had a similar injury in the past. Stuart is hopeful he will play a part before the season's end but it doesn't look good.

Stuart confirmed that Notts are looking for a goalkeeper either on emergency loan or someone out of contract.

Mai Traore is fit and in contention for the Crewe match, so is Morias. As far as Jodi is concerned Notts are taking it a week at a time. Not sure that He'll be back before season's end.

Stuart thought that the match on Saturday will be difficult, but a win could put the club back on track.

Just thought that Stuart looked a little subdued during this presser & it didn't appear to me that he was as upbeat as he has been in previous interviews.

He can play for two non league clubs but not two league clubs, so he can play for Notts.

That decision not to award a penalty was shocking but not surprising. The ref was awful. Did we do enough to win the game? Probably not. Crewe didn't do much either. The gloom has not been lifted....

In response to Stuarts statement above, there were no chances to take that’s why! Didzy fizzed a half chance wide and Abbott had half decent chance right at the end but that was it, for 80 minutes prior we didn’t create much of note. But I agree we should’ve had at least 1 penalty. Whitaker is caught but the way he goes down turning to ref to appeal just makes it look weirdly suspect. The one on Jarvis, Cooney leads with his arm so it’s daft I don’t think you could complain if it had been given.

First half was just a boring non-event really. We were better in the second half though, but again it took us far to long to actually start putting Crewe under a bit of pressure. We were solid and defended well, but attack wise for too long we looked a bit lost and clueless.

Jarvis, who looked threatening taking players on spent too much of the match in his own half. And on the other side in Gordon we have a player who is really quick but not that skilful, yet we kept playing the ball to his feet expecting him to beat his man. He’s crying out for a 1-2 to get in behind. And particularly first half, I had no idea what both Whitaker and Grant were supposed to be doing.

I feel like our way of playing, especially going forward relies too much on individual players and their quality to just be better than the opposition. I know it’s harder with Jodi and Jatta missing but we need to be more adaptable and play to strengths of the players on the pitch more.

The first half for Notts wasn't too bad, though some clearer chances could have been made. The long wait for a shot on target made me wonder if it might be one of those games. The second half was decent, with a bit more intent and some exciting moments. Notts became much livelier around the 70th minute. Stuart Maynard's substitutions seemed a bit unusual. For me, Charlie Whitaker should have stayed on. Mai Traore feels like playing with ten men. He's struggling with EFL football, and it's even harder when he comes on as a sub. He had one or two exciting runs, but I don't think he was what Notts needed at that moment. Nick Tsaroulla showed why he should have started, as he was the only change that made a real difference. Kellan Gordon didn't do much. Most of his crosses were blocked, and he tended to avoid situations where a tackle might occur. Overall, it was a very standard performance from Notts, without the momentum to score from open play.
