The defeat against Colchester United was a setback, but it can be overcome with a strong performance against Salford. If Notts continue their current form, I think they can hold onto a playoff spot. However, achieving automatic promotion would require more consistent wins. Salford showed they could break us down and make things difficult at their ground. Although I wasn't there, I watched the highlights, and it was clear that Notts struggled to adjust to their gameplan. Hopefully, lessons have been learned since then, and I expect a very different match at Meadow Lane.

Three points on Friday evening & Notts will be way on their way to a playoff place. Two wins & a draw should be enough.

I hope that Abbott will be fit. Notts missed him against Colchester. I wouldn't play Jones from the start, I'd use if off the bench of required.

I'd play the team that started at Colchester with Abbott coming in for Hinchy if he's fit.

The match won't be easy but if Notts show plenty of energy &  commitment they can get the positive result we all want.

Just listened to Stuart's pre Salford presser & George Abbott is in contention for selection for the match on Friday. Jodi is also in contention for the starting eleven.

Abbott being fit to play is a big relief. Knowing how Stuart is cautious when players return from injury, Abbott may not start the game, but I hope he does on this occasion.

Notts need to get the win & they should pull out all the stops to do so. Games are running out so Stuart needs to play the best eleven he can put out.

An unchanged  Notts side tonight to face Salford.

I suspected that Stuart wouldn't put Abbott in the starting 11. He's always cautious.

Abbott, McDonald & Jones included on the bench.

Very dissapointing half of football for Notts. I don't think Maynard has ever solved how to counteract the high press against us.

I think Maynard needs to put Abbott & Jones on at half time. You just need your best players on at a time like this.

Well that was another deflating home game in which another top 10 team has taken points from us. The tragic thing for me was even once we’d got the score back to 2-1 it still felt like a Salford 3rd goal was inevitable. Not sure anyone knew what role they were supposed to be playing second half. In the first half everyone knew their role, it was just a shame that was to play in a super conservative 5-2-2-1 formation.

I don’t know if Salford have just completely sussed us out in these two matches but they’ve looked a lot better than us in both. If you had to judge a team just on how they played against us I’d say they are comfortably the best team we’ve faced this season.

It's been a dissapointing result tonight when so much was expected, & hopes were high

It's understandable that the Notts fans are disappointed, I am too, but  if we step back & look at the league table.

Notts are still in a better place than Colchester, Chesterfield, Salford & Crewe with points in the board.

It still means Notts need just two wins to be massive favourites to secure a playoff place, then anything can happen.

Well that was a really hard watch, Salford were by far the better team in every area of the pitch, Notts just couldn’t cope with them, they certainly deserved their win.

Just as an aside I assume we lost the toss because we kicked off towards the kop, I said we were going to lose as it seems we always do when we play towards the kop in the first half, it’d be interesting to know the stats on that.

Another meek performance. Same team against Colchester, same toothless performance. "smart passes" have dried up completely. Salford had the desire, their #10 showed how effective skill can be in the right areas. Jatta completely dominated by their defence. Lucky to get 300k for him now?

Salford just played much better than we did. They had a plan and they executed it perfectly. Let's give them some credit for that.

I would say Salford's performance was up there as the best performance we've seen by an opposing team at ML this season.

They were the best team on the night & thoroughly deserved their victory.

However, despite this bad defeat, Notts are still in a prime position to make the playoffs, & If Notts do qualify, then anything can happen.
