Gutless. Rudderless. Embarrassing. This club is going nowhere under SM. It gives me no pleasure to say that. We might scrape into the playoffs but it's delaying the inevitable of another season in League 2.Β

So the teamΒ  hasn't improved from last season? The stats say different.

A squad like ours shouldn't be limping into the playoffs. The biggest loss this season was Matt Saunders. SM is just not good enough at this level. The results against the sides around us prove that. I hope he proves me wrong but I suspect we'll have a new manager going into next season.Β

Look what has happened in the league today. Only one team in the top 7 won.

Walsall have only won two of their last 17 matches. Bradford conceded five today. Notts are not the only side having problems. There isn't much between the top 11 clubs.

In fact the team in 11th place still has a chance to get into the playoffs if results go in their favour.

I don't agree that Stuart Maynard isn't good enough for this league. He's had lots of poor luck with injuries, not to mention refereeing decisions.

Also, Notts have had just four games all season where they have been outplayed. out of 42 league games. I could reel off severalΒ  reasons why the team has improved from last season.

Those on social media calling out Stuart now failed to call out Luke Williams on the poor form that Stuart inherited when Luke left for Swansea.

One improvement is the goals against being 43 when it was double that amount at the end of last season.

If Notts fail to get promoted this season, it won't be a disaster. The team has improved & I'm sure the Reedtz brothers will strengthen the squad for next season.

Lessons will be learned by the Notts powers that be & the Club will be better for it, but the season is not over yet. The club still has their playoff future in their own hands.Β

The Luke Williams excuse has run its course by now to be fair. This is about SM. The team were excellent in the first half against Colchester. When Colchester upped their performance, we had no answer. The performance against Salford was woeful. Even mediocre might have got us something out of the game. Bradford is a huge game. They are not world beaters. It's time for SM and the players to stand up and be counted.Β

Thankfully our owners are not as trigger happy and more level headed than some of our fans, I trust them to do the right thing, whether that is to replace Maynard in the summer or keep him.Β

There’s still plenty to play for this season, the league is so unpredictable, keep the faith and support the club.

I think we can all agree that this result was solely down to @gtownjohnnoΒ angering the football gods.

But seriously, the wheels coming off after us losing our star loanee midfielder is a touch Nolanesque. But incredibly, we're not quite out of it yet as nobody else seems to fancy League One much either.Β
