Good morning, I t’s a new week, a cool cloudy day here. I’m still feeling under the weather, coughing, sneezing, headache, sore throat etc. but a lot of folk would swap with me, man flu is nothing to what some people have to put up with.

I’m not doing much today, bank holidays don’t mean much when you’re retired it’s just another day, I’m just staying in and keeping warm, I hope everyone else is ok? What are you all up to today?

It hasn't rained here but it was cloudy all day and chilly outside. Wrapped myself up today when I did my walk.

Just a quiet day in on this bank holiday Monday. Watched a few Westerns on the box. It is years since I watched High Noon with Gary Cooper, Grace Kelly & Lee Van Cleef.

It is still a classic & can hold itself against any modern film as far as I'm concerned. Is it just me but I don't see modern acting in the same league compared to those actors from the golden age of Hollywood.

Thanks @super_ram I think I’m slowly recovering, I’ve had a little walk to the shops and back which wore me out so resting up now, it’s amazing how a bug can make you feel weak.

It was a reasonable day here weather wise but the wind was chilly.

Completed a five mile walk this morning. I always take a drink with me & a bite to eat when walking just in case.

Watched a good film tonight called Gemini Man with Will Smith. A good action movie.

Nice start to the morning here. Looks like it is going to be a reasonable day.

We haven't had any prolonged rain for several weeks here. We've only needed to cut the lawn once in several weeks.

Woke up this morning to the following news from abroad.

Looks like hostilities have started between India & Pakistan & the Cardinals are meeting in Rome to choose a new Pope.

Morning all, a cloudy start, hopefully the sun will get his hat on later. I see @Piethagoram is on his travels around Europe, enjoy yourself.

We watched the film “Darkest Hour” last night, a film largely about Churchill and his struggles as our army was stranded on the beach at Dunkirk and it looked like defeat and invasion was imminent, it seemed an apt film for the Anniversary of VE Day which is today, it reminded me how lucky we are to be living in this era of peaceful times (for Britain at least.)

I can’t imagine the horrors our parents went through during those times.

Lovely morning here with plenty of blue sky.

Spent an hour in the garden this morning tidying up

Will be sitting out in the garden later with the Mrs.

My DVD packed up last night after 20 years of useful service.

Ordered a new one. Should receive it this afternoon. Not expecting this new one to last 20 years.
