Looks like Sampdoria have been very fortunate to avoid relegation with their opponents getting food poisoning, another being docked points, then Sampdoria being awarded the win by the authorities in the relegation playoff.

Even though Sampdoria survived relegation to the third tier of Italian football, it is still a big low for a side that saw much success in the early 1990s, & had great players playing for them.
