On holiday, so one of those days nursing a hangover, which when you're older you really can't be doing with ☹️ It took only 4 pints! What a lightweight. The muggy weather, and difficult sleeping make

Don’t be tight, share the goodies with the rest of us. You can keep the wine, but those chocolates are fair game. As Forest Gump said, β€œLife is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.” So what’s up for grabs? Are we talking posh ones, Maltesers, or something more like Cadbury Heroes?

My office right now feels like a scene from Shaun of the Dead. If you swapped Shaun’s job selling tellies for a regular desk job, it would be spot on. It’s been so dull that I’ve managed to sneak onto the computer and check what’s going on here. Soon enough I’ll be chasing others to crack on with their work and chuck me a few tasks too. For now though, a bit of downtime doesn’t hurt, especially if someone’s passing round sweets. I’m calling it a break and putting the kettle on.

@True Magpie @Piethagoram The wine and chocolate was lovely, sorry it’s all gone. I love that dark chocolate and Mrs. T can’t have much because it upsets her tummy, so from my point of view it was an excellent choice. 😁

It’s not my caravan we haven’t got one, we are renting it from the farmer.

Just a quiet day in today. Nice to see some rain again which I'm sure the garden plants appreciated.

Watched a film on ITV X, Die Hard four which I think is the 2nd best film in the franchise behind the first Die Hard.

You may have guessed I do like the action movies, which include Die Hard, James Bond, Mission Impossible, Taken & Star Trek.

We have seen what appeared to be a large Hornet giving us a visit in our garden today. It was huge around 40 to 50 mm long. They say Asian Hornets can be that big or even bigger. I tried to get a photo of it but it was too quick

It's been a very good year for insects what with the Bumblebee nest & lots of spiders around too.

School felt like it went on forever today. When I got home, I had to do three bits of homework. I had to carry on with it after tea, and now I’ve only got a little bit of time before I need to go to bed for tomorrow.

I wish I had more time, but that’s just how it is.

Morning all, a nice sunny start here in Derbyshire, we had a lovely day yesterday, we had a long walk around a little village called Hayfield, we used to camp there years ago when we had a camper van, it was one of our favourite places. There some lovely countryside to admire and we hardly saw a soul.

Did anyone watch The Lionesses last night it certainly kept me on the edge of my seat, 2-0 down pulled back to 2-2 just before the end, then still 2-2 after extra time, the penalty shoot out was equally fraught with misses on both sides but England won in the end, quite some match.

We have taken the bull by the horns and ventured into the Wilderness known as Lincolnshire. Apparently the weekend begins here.20250718_135944.jpg20250718_135931.jpg

I know this because a limit for movement is imposed on one and all. (See below).

So we have no choice but to abide and chill.20250718_140028.jpgHappy days are here again πŸ˜„πŸ˜†πŸ€£

I know a song about that!!!

Always wanted to go there, it's on my list

Last year, I went to Chapel-en-le-Frith for the first time - I was a bit disappointed. Glossop is good, you can take in Hadfield/Padfield where The League of Gentlemen was filmed, which is not from from Hyde the stomping ground of our infamous ex-fan. On second thought, best where you are Big Tone, that other area is a bit creepy!

@theAnticlough we were wondering about going to Hadfield, we loved The League of Gentlemen. We’ve got thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow so it might be a good day to go, we could seek shelter in the local shop for local people. biggrin

Tubs may serve you, she may not. Be ready to back out quickly and go the co-op instead! That particular view, from the shop down to the village, isn’t there. And Hadfield is a bit disappointing unless you’re intrigued due to TLOG. You can quickly decamp to Glossop though.

Morning all, it looks like it’ll be a dismal day here in the peaks, we might just have a day at the van chilling.

Yesterday we had a walk around New Mills following a tourist leaflet highlighting some interesting historic buildings and facts about the town, we popped into a local pub which was a starting point for a stagecoach to Stockport before the railways put them out of business. We were pleasantly surprised how friendly the locals were.

Later we had a walk around the countryside surrounding the farm where we are staying it’s beautiful and so peaceful.

I'm on the train heading back to Manchester from London. I couldn't return yesterday because the train I wanted to take was too full. I chose to stay an extra day and set off around one o'clock. It's still busy today, but not overcrowded. I've managed to get a seat, so I'm not having to stand.

London feels chaotic. People rush about everywhere and it doesn’t feel anything like Nottingham or Manchester. There’s barely any sense of personal space, and it seems like everyone’s wary of each other, as if they’re all trying to suss each other out.

I wouldn’t say I enjoyed my visit to London.

It's pouring rain here. I'm watching the Ladies Gaelic Football semi finals. Tomorrow my county Cork will contest the All Ireland hurling final against Tipperary. It's an age old rivalry. I'm confident that Cork will win.

Absolutely, with Jatta and Jodie Jones scoring, superb. Although Jatta is missing our first 5 games. I think we still need the cover of a proven goalscorer to challenge for that position. A great result that should somewhat allay fears and put us on the front foot. COYP.

It’s been wet and gloomy all day, but after so many sunny weeks, it’s actually nice to have a weekend with rain. It gives a different sort of calm.

There’s been no sign of this storm they warned about. I saw the Met Office say there’d be thunder and lightning, but nothing has happened yet.

Maybe it’ll arrive tomorrow instead. Still, the cool air feels refreshing.

Morning all, it’s the last day of our mini break in Derbyshire, we’ll be heading home later to pick the cat up from the cattery and putting the bins out ready for tomorrow, oh well all good things come to an end, we’ve had a great time and we’ll definitely return here.

@Fan of Big Tone, No thanks, I’m not a fan of dark chocolate either.

Glad you had such a good time. Your photos looked peaceful and full of charm. A quiet break like that away from the city sounds lovely.

It’s great to have you back with us properly though, Tone.
