Another Director of Football bites the fust. Wouldn't be surprised to see him back at Notts.

It reminds me of when Stuart Maynard was sacked and all the talk started about Luke Williams coming back. I didn’t want that at the time. Maybe one day it would be nice to see Williams return, once he has more experience, but both he and Richard Montague left us in a tough spot. I think Montague could come back and pick up where he left off. He knew the club well and worked within the model. Still, I do remember feeling like I had a few things I wanted to challenge him on. The grass isn’t always greener, but he did seem to fit.

If Montague doesn’t return, I hope the club brings in someone with strong links to other clubs and knows how to open those doors. That kind of network is vital. I don’t think Roberto Gagliardi did well in that area. He probably spoke well about his contacts, but the loan market suggests those connections didn’t really help us.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

This is too much of a coincidence, he’s coming back to Notts you read it here first. 👍

Swansea will get more higher-profile people into these types of roles, and as for him coming back to Notts, I tend to say it's nothing but a coincidence. It's quite a stark contrast that people are extremely unhappy with Roberto Gagliardi, but he had one transfer window and had only been at the club for 5 months. Compared to Richard Montaque, who near his departure had a portion of criticism, he actually did a decent job.

We'll never know what players are available, who realistically would join, and how much in wages we can afford to pay. Just like when a club signs a player fans would like to have at Notts, it doesn't mean we can afford them or that they would be a team player.

Some players want to be guaranteed minutes; others want bonuses or add-ons, etc. I am not defending Gagliardi; I don't think he really won anyone over, but it seems unlikely that Montague will be coming back here.

A field where dreams become reality.

There’s a good chance other clubs might try to bring him in for a role of their own. It could come down to money, a better opportunity, or simply him feeling ready to move on from his time with us. I’d be happy to see him return. Richard Montague was a good match for the club and did well finding players who suited our style and needs.

Still, I don’t think it’s likely. It feels like one of those moves that made sense at the time but probably won’t happen again.

If you have any problems or concerns, feel free to send me a private message (PM). Always happy to help!
Please note: I’ll do my best to help, but some issues may need passing on.

there is no arm in talking to him and seeing if the door can be left open for a return, even if other clubs are interested knowing that you are likely to fit back in and have a reasonably safe working environment is better than going somewhere unknown.

i dont want to speculate on if he will return as i really dont know, it depends on how the relationship was departed with.

Would the Brothers have him back? When Montague Departed it seemed a Strange Decision, he had after all known and worked with the Brothers for a number of years, and of course as always there was No Communication from the Club at the time of his leaving, was there a rift a Massive Failing Out or What? Did Montague wish to team up with Luke Williams again? But the Fan Base where once again, treated like Mushrooms, Kept In The Dark And Fed A Load Of B.S.

I don't know whether Montague would return here after the obvious change in footballing Philosophy at Notts.

Montague worked well with Williams & with Williams would Notts be playing the way they are playing now? I doubt it

The longer it goes on with an appointment the fear is that Notts could be struggling to get any interest.
