Good morning it’s a lovely bright start to the day but a tad chilly at only 3 degrees. 🥶

We are going to wrap up and go for a walk, we need a few bits from Morrisons so we’ll do a circular route to get our daily step target.

Good Morning all. It's a beautiful morning here. Who'd have thought we've had two weeks of constant rainfall.

We are both busy this morning in the garden. Last lawn cut, and picking up the leaves and a general tidying up.

Some of our flowers held on until last night but I think the frost has done for them. It is very chilly out and we are well wrapped up for the task.

Washing the evening dinner pots was a little different tonight with a big surprise when the floor became soaked with water. The waste pipe became detached from the kitchen sink. Looks like we need some new parts to fix it.

It's good that we have plumbing & drain cover with our energy supplier, so we were pleased to get an appointment between 8am & 6pm.tomorrow.

Oh dear @Robbie i bet that was a bit of a shock. I hope you get it sorted, it’s a good excuse not to wash up though. 😉

I’m surprised you haven’t got a dishwasher, we got a small slimline on a year or so ago, it’s just big enough for the two of us and it’s brilliant, we just dump the pots in it when we’ve finished with them and whe t’s full switch it on and hey presto a few hours later they are shiny clean.

In other news it’s a bit brass monkeys out there the temperature dropped to 0.6 overnight, which has reminded me that I need to cover up the outside tap, I don’t want it freezing.

I am having a difficult time with my laptop's keyboard; I think I need to replace it, and that leaves me wondering how I will be able to do the related tasks. I have a detailed setup now on here, and it includes a lot of apps that make my workflow easier. These past few weeks, I have been implementing ways to be more organised, and now this. 😒

To top things off, this morning I have been doing server-related chores, and then when I came to come on here. I learned that Cloudflare are experiencing a major outage, which has affected a lot of the internet with downtime.

Ironically, it includes "x," which was very quickly prioritised over other clients and smaller sites.

It seems we are back, but I might need to borrow my wife's laptop in the meantime.

Update.

My waste pipe to the kitchen sink has been fixed so we are back in business, as they say, once again. The Plumber had to get some parts from Screwfix to complete the job, but everything seems fine.

Good morning, it’s a cold damp start the temperature went down to 2.5 last night which is a bit warmer than last night. The carpet we had put down during the summer is k eeping us a bit warmer than last year, it’s a very thick pile with a high tog rating.

Tonight we are going to a posh Indian restaurant which has rave reviews with our family to celebrate Mrs. T’s significant birthday which is on Friday, we can’t go Friday with the family because the two of us are going away for a week in a cosy cottage in Yorkshire to have a week of birthday celebrations.

It's a very cold day here. I have been monitoring the temperature outside and it has just gone above freezing for the first time today. Looks like it will be a another cold night.

We haven't had any snowfall here. The sky has cleared somewhat this afternoon so the temperature will be going back down very soon.. pleased that we managed to get the grass cut the other day.

Morning all, -1.2 overnight so a frosty start here.

We had a lovely Indian meal last night with our family, we went on the bus so we could have a drink, our son drove with his family as he wasn’t drinking, when he drove back there was an accident which had closed the road and he quickly realised that we’d be stuck in traffic on our bus, so he sent us a message while we were waiting for the bus to go back in the restaurant and he would come back for us as he knew a back route so he dropped the family off at home and came back to fetch us. Bless him.

Good morning all. It's zero degrees here& it's forecast not to get above 3 degrees all day. Snow has been forecast for Yorkshire so there may be a possibility that we might get a dusting here.

In warmer climes. The Ashes series starts tomorrow in Perth Australia at 02:20 GMT. The first of five Tests. I'm looking forward to it.

It's going to be a very competitive series. Australia do have injuries with two of their important bowlers missing the first Test. Can England take advantage?

Guess who’s going to Yorkshire tomorrow for a week! I don’t mind snow when we’re there but not to drive in while we travel there.

Just had a call from the owner of the cottage we are staying in and they have had quite heavy snow the schools are closing but the roads are clear at the moment, she says we can get there earlier than the 4pm check in so we aren’t travelling in the dark. She sounds really nice.

Hopefully the weather is improving and the snow will be gone.

@super_ram thanks mate, it’ll be a week of celebrations for Mrs. T’s 70th if we actually get there through the snow, I was watching the news and it looks pretty bad up there.

We’ve got wifi so I’ll be able to get on here, so I’ll let you know.

We were promised some snow here but it didn't materialise although it has been cold all day. Hope that Notts have the pitch covered against the cold just in case.
