Historic. Love you Notts! Respect to Paterson for getting the best he can out of this squad. Just seen the highlights. The subs all did brilliantly to make the goal. The pass from Gordon is exquisite.

I think they do, Big Tone. If we just had a bit more quality, we wouldn't have gone 1pt from 6 against Harrogate & Colchester. I think there will be changes. It's just a matter of who and how many

I'm very pleased we won, but if we are honest we didn't deserve to. Winning when you play far below your best could be vital at the end of the season. Winning when down to ten man is another big plus.

Platt came back and played very well. Roos did well this game but he has to play consistently at the same level every game & time will tell if he can do that. Nice to see the subs coming on & changing a game once again.

A tough December awaits. Beating a side like Bristol R who have lost 7 on the spin is welcome, but Notts have to be at their best against MK Dons in the next game at ML because MK will be different animal completely.

The winning goal and what about that celebration?

The quality wasn't great but that was an engaging game of football. Bristol Rovers should have been at least 2 up before the sending off. They seemed to be unsure about how to go about 11 vs 10 and we reaped the benefits. The 3 points are massive but the performances are not up to the standard we expect.

Not our best game, but coming away with 3 points is priceless. Having some of the luck go our way for a change was good (They had 3 shots hit the woodwork) and we battled for the victory. A crucial moment came from our second half substitutions made at the right time, fresh legs of Gordon and Dennis proved positive. The whole game was a hard watch but who cares when we do the business. COYP

That match is the epitome of why football makes absolutely no sense and we are even more foolish for getting sucked in by it… But when you come out on the right side of the result it makes it worth it, those scenes at the end were magical!

Having seen the Hall tackle back, I’m still not sure it was a red. It wasn’t a good tackle but after the ref pulls out the red the Bristol player jumps back up onto his feet like it was a job well done by him.

Full credit to the boys for getting 3 points out of that, once we went down to 10 with so much of the match remaining I was almost expecting the worst and I’ve have taken a 0-0, 100%! Maybe we can sit back play two banks of four, attack a couple of times and win every match... 😉

Also, anyone know how luck works, have we emptied our season’s worth in that match?

Comment by Poppy on BBC website

"A game we had no right to win, second best all over the park, saying Duckworth isn't fit to ref a Subbuteo game let alone pro football. Defended resolutely and took our chance well., for those old enough to remember the 1990 Freight Rover Second Leg game and Phil Stant's perfect goal disallowed, and then Gerry Francis dancing on the pitch, it makes the result so much sweeter. #COYP"
