Craving likes

Featured Replies

An interesting question, do you crave likes on social media or do you know someone who does?

I asked AI about this and this is what I found.

People crave likes because they trigger dopamine, a "feel-good" brain chemical, creating a pleasure-seeking loop similar to addiction; they serve as digital social rewards, signaling acceptance, boosting self-esteem, and fulfilling the innate human need for validation and belonging, amplified by algorithms designed for engagement.

@Fan of Big Tone when I saw the heading I thought the topic was going to be about a female friend or relative who was pregnant and had a strange Craving

I see how it can give validation, and that's probably quite the drug for people who feel friendless in life. But even for well-adjusted people like me, it's nice to have a little acknowledgement, even if it's just to confirm that what I posted has been seen rather than getting lost amidst all the clickbair and nonsense AI pots.
