Good morning, there’s a nice red sunrise here after overnight rain.

I’m up early because I’m taking the car for it’s annual service, the dealer used to be in Nottingham on a convenient bus route so I could leave it and catch the bus back then again to fetch it. Then Citroen moved to Derby now I need a courtesy car which costs £20 for the insurance. Grr.

Have a lovely day everyone.

And a jolly good morning to you all also. We have just had our annual service and MOT @Fan of Big Tone and pothole County cost us two new tyres, I hope your vehicle isn't so expensive. A beautiful morning here in the midshires with a bit of a chill to keep you on your toes. On top of the vehicle thing, I have been informed that the horses feet need a trim and the Farrier is due this morning at 08:30 so more expense. I don't think that i can afford to retire.

I hope everyone has a great day 😀

Unfortunately my Car's MOT didn't go to plan, it needed some welding underneath on both sides, I also had to have the front & back break discs & pads replaced , so It worked out to be quite expensive MOT.

It's been a good car over the years with 178K now on the clock. I've done well over 100K since I bought it. If I can get a few more years out of it I would be very happy.

I went to Wilford Hill Cemetery yesterday with Cheeky. We got caught in the showers, but neither of us was all that bothered. It was actually peaceful and different; we've been when it's snowed like this before, so rain isn't something to stop us from spending time. Unfortunately, by the time we decided to head back, we had thousands of those across the river causing a traffic jam, so we walked to the Nottingham Knight in hope that would make a difference and got our Uber from there.

Today, I am a little behind and I realise that I didn't find time to publish an alumni. The good news is I am sitting upright and in heaven thanks to the office/gaming chair my daughter gave me.

My old one was good; it just never seemed to support my lower back, no matter how I sat or what I did to try to combat it. I have been on my PC for the most amount of time I have in ages, which shows how nicely this one supports my lower back.

@Michael D Pie. fortunately I don’t have any horses to worry about, we’ve got a cat but she doesn’t have any problems at the moment.

@Robbie sorry to hear your car had an expensive trip to the garage but it sounds as if it’s served you well.

@Chris when you spend a lot of time at a desk you definitely need a good supportive chair, glad you’ve got one.

I had a call from the garage to say our car was ready to collect so we got in the courtesy car which is a brand new Citroen C3, it had been on the drive since I got back and I couldn’t get it in reverse to back off the drive. In the end I had to call the garage who told me I needed to pull the sleeve up on the gear stick to engage reverse, how embarrassing I’ve had lots of cars in my time but never have I had to do that. The good news is the garage said our car is in excellent condition and has been serviced, washed and polished, it looks like new now.

I managed to sit down at my desk for around 6 hours, which is good. I think the fact my back is supported well, it did make a difference because for the times I had walked downstairs, my back felt less pain but it did come on later which forced me into retreating to laying down with my laptop. I did enjoy having two screens, at my desk because I made some real good progress coding wise.

Tomorrow, I am going to try to do it again and get some content up. 🫰

Yes, it's lovely outside from the looks of it. It's nice to see the bright light shining through my bedroom window.

All the talk of MOTs has me thankful I don't drive; it's nightmare enough when electricals inside the home decide to pack in. It's never just one thing, but a whole host of appliances. Speaking of driving, @super_pie had his third lesson with @Drivingmenotts yesterday. It sounds like he's doing well! Today has been quite slow, though I have encountered a lot of strange issues with the resources I am building, and I am hoping, for the sake of my hair, that I have finally resolved these issues.

I hope everyone is enjoying the nicer weather, fingers crossed @super_ram will start to feel the benefit of it.

Good luck to @super_pie with his driving lessons, I remember my first lessons driving along Trent Embankment at about 18 mph and being absolutely petrified, my instructor said if I didn’t get a hold of my nerves I’d never pass but after 40 lessons I passed first time.

I was around 19 when I started having lessons, I had just met Mrs. T and her last boyfriend had a car so I felt I’d better get driving and buy a car if I wanted to keep her. 😂

Good morning, I expect we’ve all got a bit of a spring in our step after last nights stunning victory, I know I have.

Today I’ve got to clear up our garden after yesterdays efforts when I took out a lot of old Clematis Montana which has been growing on the fence since we bought the house, it was getting a bit unruly so I’ve chopped it all back and put some new trellis up, hopefully some new growth will take to it.

Apart from that it will be a quiet day, we will go for a walk to keep up our walking challenge in March, we’ve done 58,000 steps so far so we are well on course for reaching our 100,000 target.

Have a great day everyone.

Fond memories of my driving lessons and driving instructors...

One was an oldish bloke called Barry from Trowell. No instruction, he just let you drive all around Notts for a hour.

The only things I can remember him saying 'one of you mad bastards is going to kill me one day' 'WTF are you doing? Overtaking on a blind bend before a hump-back bridge!!!' I was to be fair...

It's a beautiful morning here. The forecast is for Sunny Weather & a high of 17 Celsius.

Good luck with the lesson @super_pie I passed my test on 6th June 1974 after 20 lessons. Tests were much easier then with the hardest manoeuvres being the left hand reverse turn, & the three point turn.

When I started off the examiner told me to travel up the road then turn right, I turned left. I thought I'd blown it, but it relaxed me & I went through the test well. I did my emergency stop when a dog ran into the road.

As I said, I thought that turning left had failed the test for not following instructions, but after answering the five highway code questions, he passed me for my driving. I was nervous, when I started the test, turning left instead of right, was the best move as things turned out.

it will sound like excuses but there is not enough time in the day, my training is going well but i have not had any chance to get on here previously. i am away from home until the weekends and you dont realise how bad the internet can be when in a poor signal area. i am well, i do miss the community here.

It's been a beautiful day. Apparently the temperatures have been just over 20 Celsius in southern England & some parts of Wales.

We've actually switched the gas heating off this morning for the first time in months. 8 years ago today, we had snow & there was a few inches on the ground around here.

Good morning everyone. Another beautiful morning here, with not a cloud in the sky. The local weather forecast says it's going to be a little cooler than yesterday, with a high of 14 Celsius. I think it may get a little warmer than that.

We are both off for a walk fo an hour or so. I now concentrate on getting the prescribed 150 heart points every week to keep the fitness up. This includes brisker walking to get the heart pumping faster. It's certainly a pleasant day to get those heart points in.

It's my eldest daughter's birthday today, so right now Kate's parents are over to spend some time with her. I am trying to improve, and bug fix some of the applications I have made. The task manager has made important strides, and it's nice to have it there as a way to record issues that I noticed, and need to look into. Mark (former admin) has made @super_ram some meat balls and a cassole which I need to fetch before I hi-jack him to come round to ours.

@Hi Humans ツ is looking forward to it, and it will be nice to see him. We are hoping to play some board games, maybe even a quiz of some sort.

Much to-do but at least things are on the up, finally it seems, on a personal note I have changed my diet again and I am still finding things to be better. Hopefully, it continues but I have not heard anything about any future appointments yet.

@Robbie  if you really want to get your heart pumping there’s a park run near you, run or walk, it’s free and very friendly, lots of different ages, and levels of fitness, some you fit athletic types at one extreme and some old fat folk (like me) who have to take it a bit slower.

@Chris I hope @Hi Humans ツ has a great birthday, give Mark my regards.

@Robbie I forgot the link https://www.parkrun.org.uk/mansfield/

Good morning, it’s a cloudy start here, hopefully the sun will make an appearance later.

We are off to the North Yorkshire coast today but first we have to catch the cat and take her to the cattery, she has a sixth sense when we are going away and sometimes disappears so we have to try and act normal so she settles down in her bed then grab her when she least suspects it, if she sees us packing or anything unusual she’s ready to leg it.

We’ll be away a week but we’ve got wifi so I’ll be popping on here, I just hope this fine weather carries on but if the long range forecast is right it’s going to turn colder again.

Have a great day whatever you are doing.

Hi everyone. A crisp morning & the blue sky had gone for now. It looked like it rained a little too last night

I went to get some fuel for the Car. It is a diesel. The price at the Tesco Garage was £1:57. The price has gone up & it is expected to go higher.

It's not just the price of fuel, food prices continue to rise. The price of the same food order has gone up by £2.

We've noticed that the same food order is never the same price from week to week. Sometimes it's a little less in price due to offers, but the trend is invariably upwards.

@Fan of Big Tone i hope you have a great time up on the East Coast. Love going up there myself, especially Whitby. Always feels like home to me.

Fuel prices have jumped as you say @Robbie closely followed by food, gas and domestic oil. Where are these emergency billions of barrels that are supposed to be easing these rises??

The sun is now peeping from behind the clouds, looks like the day will be ending with a nice flurry of sunshine 🌞

Good morning from sunny Filey, it seems we can’t go away these days without having some kind of medical problem, Mrs. T woke yesterday with a problem which needed treatment after consulting the NHS online we were told to go to Scarborough A&E, what a great experience compared to Nottingham hospitals, we arrived to see a huge car park with plenty of spaces just yards from the hospital entrance. The waiting area in A&E wasn’t crowded it was very clean with plenty of seats and she was seen by a doctor within 15 minutes. He examined her and sent a prescription to a pharmacy near where we are staying what a great service.

Mrs T is ok and thankfully we are able to continue our holiday thanks to the NHS. 👏

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday. I wished I had more time or it would pass a little slower when I am busy. It always seems to go much quicker, but progress is being made in some key areas. I'm going to see about spending the day with @super_ram on Tuesday, I can't tomorrow but I also need to confrim with Cheeky that she isn't busy. Not a lot to report, I am mostly coding and trying to pre for next season so I can ensure a full active campaign (even if I am unwell) and trying hard to get the content back to standard.

@Fan of Big Tone a really memorable day with my family was a shortish stay at Reighton Sands and walking the full beach to Filey and back again. Longer that it looks, many steps in it for you, probably 1 hour there, 1 hour back.

The Flamborough Head cliff top walks too - we were lucky enough to see seals enjoying the shallows from up there.
