A great 2nd half from Notts that gives them a massive win today against a Cheltenham side that made it very difficult for Notts especially in the first half.

Here are the players that I have chosen for you to choose your favourite today.

Those players are :-

Belshaw, Macari, McDonald, Bedeau, Tsaroulla, Palmer, Iorpenda, Jones, Grant, Tangen, Jatta, Bennetts, Kouhyar, Norburn.

How is Matty Palmer not MoM?!

Well, he isn't! Cos that has to go to Tom Iorpenda. I'd say two bold things....

That was the best individual performance of the season so far

And, that probably puts him well ahead and clinches POTS as well.

Still thinking tbh. Palmer was steady and solid all game, plus he made some good challenges/tackles and pinged some lovely long passes around. He scored a screamer and could have another 2 tbh.

Iorpenda had an incredible 25 mins in the 2nd half, all crafty touches, fierce challenges and mazy runs, culminating in a spectacular goal and another good set up for the og. Hard to split them - Palmer, cool, driving force & Iorpenda, industrious, creative and lethal. Both worthy 9/10 today.

For his pure commitment and the sensational 2nd half, it probably should go to Iorpenda - but, as I’ve not always been convinced by Palmer, I’m going for him. Without his influence, I’m not sure we’d have won that game as convincingly tbh.

When Norburn came on to play alongside him it freed up Iorpenda to push forward - which he did, with spectacular results.

(That’s the best team for me, start with Norburn, Palmer, Grant & Iorpenda - I’d play Bennetts too on today’s form.)

There have not been many games this season where one player stood head and shoulders above the rest of the team. Well for me today was one of those occasions. My vote goes to Tom Iorpenda. His all round game was excellent today and his goal would have graced the premier league. A thing of beauty!

Lots of good performances today, including the subs that came on, but I thought that the Player above them all today was Tom Iorpenda.

Notts have been blessed with getting two brilliant loanees in successive seasons, Abbott & Iorpenda who are both going to have great careers, Hall is playing his part too. Luker could also make a big difference when he returns.

Yeah, I was well on the way to giving it to our passmaster general himself Matt Palmer. He scored a corker, but it's been overshadowed by Iorpenda’s wonder goal. Tom's energy for the last 30 minutes was phenomenal!

Although I voted for Tom Iorpenda, Matt Palmer was also very good. I think Palmer and Norburn work well together with Iorpenda higher up the pitch where he does his best work. I just hope Rod McDonald's injury isn't serious or we could be in trouble for defensive cover.

Listening to the commentary I would say it was between Palmer and Iorpenda but having viewed the goals I think Iorpenda just shades it with the wonder goal and his overall performance.

@theAnticlough: I had Matt Palmer's as mine, with Nick Tsaroulla and Jodi Jones, but Tom Iorpenda really came alive in the second half. Not only did he show his class, but he was a real threat that made it difficult for Cheltenham. I love seeing him chase back and win the ball cleanly, only to out skill several players in the most joyful way. It's like watching someone who has the ball completely disposible at their feet, like an extension of their body.

Keanan Bennetts also could have merged in the running had he come on a bit earlier, he's a very exciting player and I like seeing him take on players but for me Iorpenda deserves the Man of the Match.

I've almost given Matty Palmer MoM so many times @Chris, but he always gets pipped by another. I think it's because he's such a regular 7/10 player.

Yesterday though he was 9/10 and still gets pipped by a 10/10!

@theAnticlough my son looked baffled at me when I said Matt Palmer was leading as my Man of the Match, he responded by telling me "he's not exactly done much", but he defended, moved the ball and broke down the play. His performance resembled that of a silent assassin, by which just his interlect and football ability allowed us not only to control the game but offer up freedom to others. He also scored one of his best career goals, which was brilliant to see.

A lot of technically gifted players, in terms of special awareness and control that give a team a solid anchor do tend to go unnoticed. To a certain degree, Neal Bishop could be referenced but even more so Ricky Ravenhill who was a very tidy and reliable footballer.

Palmer performed exceptionally well.

Yes @Chris I've loved how he's knitted the play together this year. I think the most under-appreciated part of that is showing for the ball all the time. Then comes the accurate, clever and stylish passing.

The mystery is, and better to whisper it, what happened last season? We expected him not be himself after the injury and to need a long time to get his level back but the passing was so negative. It couldn't only be the injury. Anyway, this season is another story entirely and he's been a joy to watch.

I have watched the full match replay & it was a great team performance especially in the 2nd half.

I thought Tangen did a lot of good work, Jodi is getting back to his best & his crosses were sublime at times.

It's great to see the dubs making a big difference, Norburn coming on allowed Tom Iorpenda to go further forward, Keanan Bennetts was dangerous on the left wing & so was Kouhyar on the right.

Some of the passing after the fourth goal was a pleasure to see. It wasn't just keep ball, it was fast & slick passing. At one point every Notts player touched the ball. That shows the confidence within the team.

My vote has gone to the Iorpenda twins. But also a special gold star to Palmer and Norburn for their dominant display in the second half in particular, and for Bennetts for absolutely giving them the runaround after his introduction. We've got a strong bench now and that gives us an extra gear in matches like this.

i wished conor grant had shown the spark he did against accrington but i think he was pretty quiet, most of the players did very well and i think my choice would be between jodi jones and tom iorpenda but i have gone with who i felt played brilliantly throughout.
