What’s everyone listening to?

Featured Replies

I usually have YouTube on during the day, but I am tired of it and I can't find myself interested in watching any films. So, lately I have been listening to YouTube Music.

Right now Bryan Adam's in on with Mel C - Baby When You're Gone (classic version).

Before that, Bon Jovi - Right Side of Wrong, The Feeling - Fill My Little World, and Phil Collins - Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now).

So, what is your go-to track? What are you listening to? How are you enjoying your music? Let's discuss and learn something new about each other.

A field where dreams become reality.

I watch Youtube on the TV quite a lot. There are some great documentaries on there. I watch different news channels which are available. There are free old British films available on You tube that are enjoyable. Some good music videos too.

It’s probably really old fashioned now but I listen to music on Spotify, I’ve created my own playlist which consists of a lot of Rolling Stones as you might guess but also Thin Lizzie, The Cure, Pulp, Boomtown Rats,The Kinks etc.

It’s good to listen to music when I’m running it makes me forget the pain. 😂

Hits Radio is my go to for music at the moment and Sam Fender with Olivia Dean, "Don't Reign Me In" is the number one song in my playbook. Sam Fender being my favourite music at this time. I also enjoy Spotify and have several playlists with Sam Fender my most listened to songs just now.

Good topic @Chris! I recently switched from Spotify to Tidal - the artists get more and the sound quality is better (not that I can actually tell with the Bluetooth speaker I normally use...).

My listening habits vary a lot. Today I've been listening to some ska (The Specials) and some 90s indie music (Belle & Sebastian). I've also been listening to a Faroese singer called Eivør Pálsdóttir (she did the soundtrack to The Last Kingdom). For work one of my go-to albums is The Life and Times of Scrooge, an unofficial soundtrack to a graphic novel about Scrooge McDuck.

I am actually considering buying an MP3 player, or an old Apple iPod.

You can highly customise certain models, and I know you can other software outside of iTunes or whatever it is which is slow and painful on Windows. My music is all over the place, and I miss Absolute Radio, but it became quite poor after awhile.

80s music is my favourite.

I do like the 60s and 70s, 90s and some 00s. Modern music today often features more spoken elements or relies on auto-tune. Lyrically they tend to be weak too. I believe most artists have ghostwriters who sit on the toilet, humming lyrics to themselves as they type on their phones. There are some acceptable, some rare decent but I feel and hear the massive decline in quality.

Nice topic. I've always got a musical fad on the go...spotify when I'm exercising well, youtube otherwise....but I find I'm always drawn back to the same era...

The last month or so I've been on a John McGeoch binge

Magazine: The light pours out of me / Motorcade / Rhythm of Cruelty

Siouxsie and the Banshees: Spellbound / Israel / Arabian Knights

Public Image Limited: Rise / Seattle / Disappointed

Most played Track of this week - The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary (I wouldn't object to that being played in the Notts dressing room on Saturday to get them going!)

  • 2 weeks later...

I used to listen to She Sells Sanctuary on my way to Meadow Lane. It didn't bring us luck.

Meanwhile, I have relapsed into Nordic power metal.

During the summer I listen & watch the Nottinghamshire County Championship matches on You tube. I couldn't do it so much before I retired but it's nice to see a bit of live cricket on the TV now.

i listen to the general radio more than certain artsists, the last song i played was sad, sad, sad by the rolling stones. before that, probably something of r e m.

@StarkMallard reminds me of a better eurovision song.

Can't stop listening to this New Order masterpiece this week - Vanishing Point

Sad song, but what an ending

''My life ain't no holiday
I've been through the point of no return
I've seen what the man can do
I've seen all the hate of a woman too

And they gave him away
Like in 'Whistle Down The Wind'
By the look on his face
He never gave in''
