A brilliant comeback and a first win for Notts in League One.

Who's your PON Man of the Match against Burton today? Lots of great performances especially in that 2nd half.

I have gone for Finneran for man of the match. We may have got a real player here.

What a contrast from the first to second half.

Really good comeback and I am really happy for Luka Smyth as well getting a couple. Hopefully this will boost his confidence. I thought Mustapha looked a lot better in the second half playing behind Smyth, he looked a lot more comfortable in this position.
Defence were solid throughout and we saw the game out very well.

45 points from 43 games.

Great performance in that 2nd half. Notts totally dominated the 2nd half. Kudos to Martin Paterson for his half time talk and substitutions.

My shortlist list for man of the match today is Tsaroulla, who put in another good shift, Cooper who had another influential game, Finneran who had a very good debut & to think he's only 18, & Smyth who came on & had his best 45 minutes for Notts.

My Man of the Match goes to Luka Smyth because he took his first goal well and scored the penalty under intense pressure.

Got to be Smyth - a real matchwinner today.

Finnernan was great - started like a train, faded in the 1st half, then cam again. Very easy on the eye, class player

Stall and Adam were talking about fleas in ears at Half-time. I suspect that applied to Tsaroulla who was a different player in the second half

Some good performances particularly in the second half, cooper had another great game, Finnernan looked good but my vote goes to Smyth who made a huge difference in the second half, I was so pleased he got off the mark with two goals, that’ll do his confidence the world of good.

Finneran - accomplished, composed and robust debut that belied his age & inexperience. Never got out muscled, terrific, driving performance littered with classy touches.

The subs made a difference, said before Grant would start every game for me. Smyth made a huge difference and enabled Mustapha to have more room & time, which he exploited superbly.

No passengers again - terrific effort and very gritty display.

I thought Finneran had a good game, he looks the business and a good asset for the season. Nick Tsaroulla had another good performance when used, I don't think we use our right flank enough and cannot understand why our bias is towards the left? My man of the match goes to Mustapha, both through the first half struggle we had, he battled and fought for every ball, using his size, strength and speed to win balls that he shouldn't have. Second half pairing up with Smyth to form a cracking partnership helping keep pressure on their defence for long periods of time. A great contribution from an improving player.

Certainly without Smyth we don't win that match. Great headed goal and well executed penalty. However, he only played one half and the rest of his all-round play is a work in progress. I think the best is yet to come. So with that in mind, I've gone for Finneran. What a player he is going to be! Only 18 trained with us once and put in a performance like that. Clearly his quality is above league 1, not just his technical ability on the ball, but his speed of thought in making a wide range of passes.

Rory Finneran got my vote; he was superb from start to finish and very composed throughout the game, well beyond his age. James Gibbons played very well at the back, and I think prior to Cal Roberts going off he would have been in the running. Luka Smyth did brilliantly, but his goals are what I feel are earning him the praise.

He was unlucky at times and certainly still didn't look match-fit, but he gave his all. Without him we wouldn't have won, but that, for me, doesn't match his whole performance compared to others.

1–0 down we could have easily fizzled and allowed the game to get out of our hands; James Belshaw turned into a mardy Roy Carroll.

While I like a commanding keeper, he's not without fault for the goal we conceded, and his slow reaction to a header I feel should have been saved. It wasn't direct like Smyths; it was actually very poor defending and goalkeeping. Hindolo Mustapha just didn't work as a striker, but he dropped back into midfield after we allowed Smyth to come on.

Also, there is no calmness without Conor Grant, who massively helped us to take a more practical stance at attacking Burton. How many times did we rush our play prior to him coming on? Solid team performance, but credit where it's due, I feel.

A field where dreams become reality.

Very hard to pick a MoM in this one but I've gone for Finneran. His vision, strength, control, and stamina were phenomenal. This was a difficult game, not because Burton looked like a good side, but because of their spoiling tactics. They were very physical - plenty of holding, off the ball stuff and other dirty tricks. Our newest and youngest recruit looked totally unphased and let his football do the talking. It is very early days, but he looks like an absolute gem. Yesterday had everything - a comeback after a poor start, a late winner, an opposition player deservedly red carded, the first goals from one new recruit, and a stunning debut from another. All in all, a very satisfying day out.
