We’re pleased to introduce PONdle, a new daily Notts County game inspired by Wordle.

Each day, you’ll be given a former or current Notts County player surname to work out. Enter your guesses, use the clues to narrow it down, and see how quickly you can solve the daily PONdle.

There’s also a Practice mode if you want to keep playing, along with a Leaderboard so members can compare their results.

You’ll be able to share your score and join the discussion with other supporters once you’ve completed the puzzle.

Give it a try and let us know what you think.

.

It's a good game. Makes you think. Tests your player knowledge.

Question

If a hint is used, Should my attempts shown on my result be classed as three instead of two?

Do you just get one hint or are you allowed more than one hint?

Currently, hints are penalised differently.

Only one hint is allowed; I am thinking about changing it so that you have to guess twice before using the hint and reviewing the penalty for using it. Today, I wouldn't have gotten it without the hint. I think I might leave the decade open, instead of a mid-, early-, or late-year.

i got the email and played, i like it. its difficult to think of players off the top of your head, but once going the challenge is fun. i did not use the hint but i think it would be best to not allow its use early on.

does the share encourage people to post their score onto social media?

i hope more members have a laugh and go, because it is a fun idea and it would be a shame to not see it supported. more people should be able to play it with it being notts related and not just a random word.

@Chris this just isn’t good enough I am shocked and saddened that Tony Hateley’s surname is not in the PONdle dictionary. This is very remiss of you, I expect a full and unreserved apology. 🤣

There's a bug with some of the names not being recognised; he's in my CSV file and within the database.

Maybe avoid typing it during every guess you make. 😂

It will be fixed soon.
