Notts County are delighted to announce that striker Jimmy Spencer has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

Spencer, who moved to Meadow Lane from Huddersfield Town in February of this year, initially signed on a short-term deal that ran until the end of the season.

He proved a revelation up front for Notts in the final weeks of the season, forming a productive partnership with Ronan Murray.

The 22-year-old scored five goals on the way to helping the club avoid relegation from Sky Bet League 1 and was one of the key performers in Shaun Derry’s reinvigorated side.

Spencer will now head off on his summer break before returning to join up with his team mates at the end of June.

You will be able to see Jimmy’s first interview after signing his new deal on Magpie Player, as well as a chat with manager Shaun Derry, who was delighted to have secured the striker’s signature.

Now we need to be doing all we can to get Tommy Rowe from Peterborough, fantastic player who would fill the void left by Jack Grealish

Tommy would be an ideal signing, I have the belief that Shaun can sign any player (unlike the managers before him). Having tied up Murray and Spencer, it's going to be important that we have creativity and good players behind them. Tommy Rowe would be a fantastic signing, one which might encourage others to join and at this level he can score a few goals.
