Paolo Di Canio aware of Swindon Town issues - chairman Patey

Swindon chairman Sir William Patey tells BBC Wiltshire that manager Paolo Di Canio is "aware" of their financial situation and knows there is no money to spend on new signings.

Patey confirmed on Thursday that Town were looking for new investors as owner Andrew Black is unwilling to put any more money in to the League One club.

I'm surprised, really. I wasn't expecting this and I thought they had some wealth behind them? It would be awkward as this situation is one that they should of avoided. I hate seeing teams on the blink of existence, I just wonder how this will effect them on the fair play rules.

Hope they manage to pull this off.

I remember queuing up at the old Baseball ground for tickets v Swindon 1968/69 league cup semi final.Swindon were in the old third division and the Rams in div 2.The game ended 0-0.They had a player called Don Rogers who was brilliant.Swindon won the next match with a deflected goal by--Don rogers. They went on to win the final 3-0 against the not so mighty Arsenal. Derby ended the season as champions.Great days.

Di Canio was at the County Ground early this morning with a dozen volunteer supporters helping to clear the pitch, he brought them all pizza as a reward ;D

not when they have points docked, they should be punished strictly. mockery if they go up having been docked points under fair play rules.
